1.2 - Awakening

Feng Li Ren wandered inside of this abyss like darkness for what felt like a long time. She didn't know why but she felt like she was almost home.

After a while, a bright light suddenly shone in her eyes. After being in the darkness and getting used to it, this light managed to hurt her eyes and she was forced to close them. All of the sudden, she started to hear faint voices.

"... Miss"

For the first time in a long time, I heard a voice. Getting excited and keeping my eyes closed and away from the bright light, I march forward for the hope meeting another person.

"Young Miss... Wake Up... Please... you can't leave me alone..."

As I got closer, I heard a young girls voice. She was sobbing and calling out "young miss" over and over again, desperately clinging on to the hope of her young miss be alive.

After I took the next step, I heard a voice echo with in the light. "Feng Li Ran, you have walked your road of reincarnation and based on the actions of your previous life, you will recieve 4 rewards when your soul enters this girls body. Firstly, your body will become completely healthy and be rid of all maladies. Secondly, the rule of this world is, "Only the strong have the right to dictate their own lives." I will give you a cultivation technique that works with the bloodline of the young girls body you will be entering. Thirdly, a space to help you train your skills and techniques as well as store personal belongings. And lastly, I will open all of your acupoints and cleanse your bone marrow and meridians." After hearing the voice, I hear the little girl call out again. "Young Miss, please... wake up..."

After that, I opened my eyes expexting to see that bright light but what I see is a little girl crying over me. When I looked at her, it made memories come to my mind. My name is still Feng Li Ren. I am a citizen of the Long Empire and i am from the Capital city's Phoenix Clan. She is known throughout the entire empire as a good for nothing and a useless waste. Her mother was the number one martial genius in the empire and captain of the imperial guard. Her father was the emperor's brother and the number 2 martial genius at the time. After they had me, they decided to live in the countryside with me for a some time and live a simple life. This led to my mother resigning from the imperial guards.

After 7 years. My father was called back by his brother, the emperor so we headed back to the capital but on the way there, we were ambushed by another countries soldiers and my mother and father ended up being killed while I was injured severely. Just when I thought I was going to die, the crown prince, Long Fei, blocked the incoming sword and slayed the man. But I had fainted from pain at this point.

When I had woken up, I had realized that I was completely blind and my face was covered in scars. The crown prince was sitting in front of me, crying and saying "I should have left earlier. If i did, no one would have to die..."

At that time i reached out towards the direction of his voice and he grabbed my hands and covered them with his. I told him while crying "Its not your fault, i will never blame you. Please don't blame yourself. Otherwise, I could never forgive you."

That was the last time i saw him in these memories. Since then, I moved to my mothers family and was bullied. My family kept saying that I should have died with my parent. That i am just useless trash. I endured being beat by them on a daily basis. Till one day my uncle came over to my courtyard drunk and tried to harass me but i resisted and he slammedthe back of my head into the wall and my body stopped moving afterwards. This was the first time the girl in my memories stood up for herself... but it was also her last...

I twitch my fingers and the little girl suddenly stops crying and looks up at me. "Young Miss, you're alive!" After she says this, she hugs me with all of her strength. I couldn't breath so i called out to her. "Xiao Mei, please, i can't breathe."

"Oh... Young Miss, what happened to you? Why were you injured like that?"

"When she said that, i remembered what happened and laughed coldly. It sent shivers down Xiao Mei's spine when she heard it. "Young Miss..."

"How long have I been asleep for?"

"1 whole day. Everyone outside knows about it but there are rumors going about saying that you tried to commit suicide."

I laugh again and the surroundings get colder by the second.

"It must be my uncle's family spreading these rumors." My eyes become sharp like swords as I think of what he had done to this body.

"Why would you say that?" Xiao Mei asks this curiously.

"Why?" The aura around me becomes colder as I laugh at this question. "It was my good uncle that did this to me. Why else?"
