Hero's Festival 2

Atlas POV

After searching around, the entire group was already preparing to eat together, so I just join them as well.

"Mommy look at what uncle bought me!"

"Look auntie! Look what brother bought me!"

The girls showed off the new pins they had to the girls. I went ahead and took Zen to the side.

"Zen, listen to me. Could you please protect the children as well? I saw a lot of suspicious men earlier. I'm going to make sure nothing happens during the festival."

"Zen understands. Should Zen tell the others as well?"

"Please let them know. I'm going to leave right now."

I turn to leave but Noel calls out to me.

"Brother where are-."

A loud boom and smoke comes from the direction of the royale family's castle. Panic soon ensues and people began running away. I ran towards the explosion.

"Zen! Take care of everyone!"

"Brother STOP!!"

I'm sorry Noel. I need to make sure whatever is happening doesn't reach you guys. I jumped onto the roof and made my way.

May POV

Atlas suddenly ran off the moment the explosion occurred. Since I was a bit intoxicated, it took me a moment to react to the chaos happening around us. Someone grabbed onto me from behind, I turned around, prepared to attack. However, I stopped. The person was Ior.

"May!! The Red Shanks just attacked the royale family! The general has turned on us. He was leading the charge! Some Red Shanks members are also surrounding the town, killing and capturing some civilians!"

SHIT, why is this happening? The Red Shanks were rather quiet. Only doing their illegal trades, why would they suddenly launch an all-out attack?!

"Jennie! Protect the civilians! Try to save anyone you can! Zen! Lucy! Stay with Princess Eva, Olivia and the kids! Protect them! Ior, let's go!"

I left the group. Our group was strong so I knew I didn't have to worry about their safety.

"Ior, can we lead the civilians out of the gates? Is it safe to do that?"

"I don't think so, there are a bunch of men wearing red masks blocking the gates. They don't talk or anything but when an adventure tried to leave, they killed him…"

"Was it your spirit that told you that?"

"Yeah…"

"Dammit! Let's go clear up the gate. Which gate has the most people trying to escape right now?"

Ior stopped talking and closed his eyes for a moment. He then opened them.

"The southern gate has the most people trying to leave. It's the furthest gate from the town square, so many people were walking towards the festival when the attack happened. Many of those from the slums were trying to escape through that gate as well."

"Okay! We need to move right now!"

The two of us ran as fast as we could. Stopping to take down Red Shanks members we came across along the way. Once we reached the southern gate, it was a blood bath. There were dead civilians laying around.

"Those fucken bastards!!" Ior was losing his patience. He could no longer control himself. I ran ahead since he was caught up in his own mind.

[Golem Creation]

[Sword of the Hero]

I created a humanoid earth golem. I gave it the [Sword of the Hero]. A water sword based off of the Hero's own sword. When the Hero swung their sword, the sword would siphon mana from the opponent. The sword I created would try to siphon water from the closes source, including humans. I could turn it off and on so that my comrades wouldn't be harmed.

"Take out all the people wearing red masks. Don't harm anyone else!"

The golem ran forward and started its assault. There were hundreds of people wearing masks on this side. It seems like the Red Shanks knew that this side is where most people would try to leave. I also join in the fight once I see how many enemies there are.

[Lord of the Seas]

I summon a giant octopus and I walk up to merge with it. The water tentacles appeared out of my back. I use these tentacles to strike at and rip apart the enemies. The octopus eyes appeared behind my head. The octopus would protect me from behind, using water walls to stop incoming attacks.

After going through about 20% of the masked men, I could feel my mana running out. Where was Ior?! Just like a blessing, Ior finally appeared.

"Sorry about that. I finally got a hold of my emotions. I will take it from here. Poseidon! Danu! Come forth!"

Finally! Ior is summoning his spirits. I can finally relax.

"We finally fight side by side again boy."

"You finally remember us."

The two spirits appear before Ior in their human form. The man and woman hugged Ior, it seems like they still really like the man.

"There's no time for that, let's end the battle here. We need to clear all of the other gates as well. We can talk after."

"Fine…"

The woman, Danu, walks forward and prepares her spell.

[Entanglement]

The earth under the group cracks and vines came out and grabbed everyone.

The man, Poseidon, walks forward and unleashes his spell.

[Calming Sea]

A rush of water comes from his feet. They surround only the masked men as if they were in a glass case. The water level then rises to the men's neck. They all started struggling even more. They felt certain doom coming their way. They were right.

Ior was now flying above the group, looking down on them.

"This is for the captured elves."

Ior coated himself in lighting. He was sparkling with the storm that was forming around him. This was Ior's own creation. [Thunder God Armor].

[Calming Storm]

The lighting surrounding his body began to hit the surface of the water that the men were stuck in. At first, it was only one strike. Then two, four, eight and it kept doubling over and over. With each strike, the men were getting electrocuted. Cries of pain echoed with each hit. Soon after the screaming stopped. Every single one of them died.

Ior dropped down next to me.

"I'm going to the next gate. Help the people that were injured here, I will send some adventures here to help you." I could only nod to him as he flew off. Ior the Thunder Prince has finally returned.

Lucy POV

After May ran off, Zen asked me what we should do.

"Mrs. Lucy, where should we go?"

I thought about it. I believe the adventure's guild will be a good place. Most adventures are probably going there now.

"Let's go to the adventure's guild. That will be the safest place."

Zen agreed and we all slowly made our way to the guild.

On the way there, we attacked multiple times but Zen protected everyone without my help. He was quick, I didn't even have time to react. Thanks to how quick he was, we got to the guild hall.

It seems like a lot of others had the same idea. I could see some of the guild workers trying to calm everyone down.

"Karen! What can I do to help?"

"Mrs. Lucy! Please help the adults calm their children down, after that we can try to figure out what to do after."

I look around the guild hall. There was at least double the number of children than adults that was in here. Before I could get to work, I hear a familiar scream.

The scream belonged to Olivia! I turn around to our group to find that some of the Red Shanks had grabbed onto Katherine. Princess Eva was holding onto Noel, keeping her from trying to attack the men.

"Let me go! Kat!! Kat!!"

"Hold on Noel!!! You'll hurt yourself!!!"

"HAHAHA! That's right kid! Stay still or this little girl dies!" The man turned to the rest of his group. "We got it good here boys! There's at least 50 people here. The boss will pay us a lot for this."

Zen was holding Olivia up. Keeping her from fainting. I looked around but I didn't see any other adventures. It would seem that only civilians got in. What will I do? While I was thinking about what to do, Zen sat Olivia down and walked towards the group of men.

"Hey! Stay back! You want to see this girl die here?!"

Zen paid no attention to the screaming man. He only looked at Katherine who had been silently crying, big tears could be seen dripping from her face.

"Katherine, Zen promises you that you will be safe. Just keep looking at Zen."

Katherine keeps her eyes on Zen just as he asked. That was when the room was suddenly filled with screams.

Zen vanished from his spot and the group of men in front of them suddenly slouched down. Parents covered their children's eyes. Katherine was confused and tried to look at the men but Zen stopped her.

"Remember Katherine, keep looking at Zen."

Katherine nods and keeps looking at him. I'm glad she listened because the scene was not meant for children to see.

All the men had their hearts ripped out. There was at least 10 of them. Zen's right hand had blood all over it. I couldn't understand how he did it. How did he kill so quickly? The hall remains quiet as Olivia and Katherine cry out while embracing one another.
