BRIA
The cold air blasting from the air conditioner didn't let the hair on my skin lay down since I had taken my first step inside the police station. The ruffling sounds of papers and the monotonous sounds of officers hitting the keyboard of their computers, the light murmuring of people and the bipping sounds of their wireless didn't do a good job of distracting my mind.
I sat with Bonnie and Emma on either side. Police were taking statements from Noah and Joshua. So far, I had kept my mouth shut, but my heart jumped in my chest when the officer turned to face me.
His experienced eyes scrutinised me from head to toe from behind his glasses, and I fought to maintain a neutral face.
"Miss Bria Maxwell, right?"
I gulped before nodding my head.
"Do you have anything else to add in what these two have told?"
I knew that it was a tricky question and that he would use it against me later. So I had to trade carefully.
