“I am sorry, but you have no choice but to cooperate with us if you want to live.”
These words were as much of a threat as they were a plea for help. And the worst thing was, Alex knew that he did not have a choice in this matter. He had to help Jay out if he wanted to live.
“I will…think about it.”
Alex tried to save face but he could tell that Jay knew of his desperation and circumstance. But the kid was a good sport and decided not to leverage Alex’s situation over his head any more than it was necessary.
“I understand. I hope you will make the right decision for your own sake. Now, we should head out and welcome your companions. They are about to land any second now.”
Just as Jay finished speaking, a loud road was heard from outside and Alex watched as another dragon-like creature landed on the ground. His back had familiar figures riding on top of it.
