Chapter 8: The Friend and The Flirt

Divyansh's POV

I stood there, knocking on my sister's door, as harsh irritating music blasted from inside streaming right into my ears.

What the hell? She was a peaceful person just a few days ago.

Well, maybe not purely peaceful but just not this wild.

She was the one who packed my clothes and now that I'd showered, I'm not able to find the only lowers, in which I sleep.

I waited, now getting irritated with each passing second. I was about to leave when the door finally opened.

What I saw next was extremely mind blowing. She was standing there, looking so sexy. Just a mere towel hiding her most intimate parts from me. I could still see her cleavage very clearly, albeit only imagine what size they would be. They seemed...big.

Noticing my shamelessness, she deliberately cleared her throat, hiding herself behind the door.

"Eyes up here Mister." She clicked her fingers showing me those intense black cat eyes, overshadowed by long black eyelashes.

Those eyes...

My previous words forgotten in a haste. A known hardness in between my legs and with a growing smirk on my handsome face, I just blurted out the very next thing that came to my mind that very instant, and that too, without thinking.

"Oh but I like what I see."

'Freaking great Divyansh! What are you...17?'A mental face palm to my handsome face...nice.

She seemed mad at what I just said. Because what she uttered next earned a chuckle from me in return.

"Shut up!"

The one thing she says when she's mad but at the same time doesn't have anything else, to get away from a growing awkwardness. Oh and that blush told all that was unsaid.

I affect her way too much for her liking.

"Still haven't changed much...hun, my kitten?"

'My kitten?' Seriously? Is your brain still in there intact or have you lost it completely?

Irritated, she asked me to come to the point.

"Don't call me that. And what do you want?"

"Whatever it is, it's definitely not you. I thought this suite belonged to my sister. you may carry on with your silly musings now."

"Whatever?" Scrunching her nose and rolling those cat eyes, she was like sex on the beach.

There it goes again. What. The. Fuck?

She was about to shut the door close when, before walking away I made a much required comment.

"And yes, the next time you're answering a door, remember to be properly dressed. No one wants to get scared by such a horrific scene, now do they?"

Leaving no room for any arguments, because there wasn't any, I walked away with hands stuffed in my pockets.

I don't care if I just lied, calling her sexy body horrific. I know she'd be feeling bad but seriously? Is that girl out of her senses? I mean, she was in a fucking towel, which came up barely to her knees. With open hair, dripping wet onto her slender neck, the little droplets rolling towards and gathering at the valley of her breasts, any guy on this damned earth would be tempted to take her right then.

Quite pissed off, I came to my suite and without my favorite pyjamas I slept only in my boxers.

Ellie's POV

After that jerk left, I stood in front of the mirror, just to comb my hair.

Why would I need to check myself out knowing well that I didn't need to, in the first place.

But, I didn't look that bad.

Albeit, I was a bit healthy. No, not healthy; generous... but just 'a bit'.

Curves took place wherever they were meant to be. So what if that ass liked skinny bitches, I ain't that bad either.

Wait... why the hell am I even comparing myself?!

It seemed like my music wanted to provide me a strange sense of comfort as well, coz just then, Just the way you are by Bruno Mars blasted into the air.

Brushing my hair and changing into my nightwear, I switched off the side lamp and in no time I was in sweet slumber.

Waking up, I saw my mobile and it was already 9:33 AM.

Shit, I'm late. Again!

Like a raging Phoenix, I ran to the bathroom. Finishing all the morning chores, I showered, got dressed in simple jeans and shirt. My usual lip balm and Kohl always on fleek. And with strange feeling that today wasn't going to add up well for me, I marched towards the lobby.

I knew breakfast in bed wasn't an option coz I was already late. I don't know if I'll get something to eat for the entire day or not. Last night I'd slept early so didn't answer the room service and hence lost my dinner to the hands of sleep.

We had to leave for the site at nine and taking a look at my watch it was now quarter past ten.

Divyansh is so going to humiliate me today.

As if luck was on my side, I saw Humaid in the lobby. I quickly ran to him. Maybe I'm not that late.

"Hey, good morning." I was barely able to keep up with my fast beating heart.

"Good morning, cutestar. Take a breath, will you?" He added with amusement dancing in his eyes.

"Well, I can't, because I'm late. Let's go?"

"Hey just chill girl. Even I'm late. So what?"

He wanted me to chill? What he didn't know was that if I didn't show my rear at the site in the next ten minutes, I will, quite literally be found chilling in the freezer, my body unevenly stabbed and maimed by the devil himself.

"You don't understand, Divyansh's gonna murder me."

"No, he won't. Now tell me did you eat something?"

I couldn't guess whether he was actually being serious or pulling my leg to an unfathomable length.

"Umm No. I'm not really hungry Humaid. Let's just get going, please."

I lied, hoping he would buy that and save me from the Almighty's wrath.

"Just wait here ok."

In about twenty seconds flat he brushed passed me and came back holding two burgers in his hands.

Sinking my teeth into the soft bread I mumbled "I love people who get me food!"

"And someone said they weren't really hungry." He just rolled his eyes while unwrapping his burger.

"Yeah whatever!" I have an equally intense eye roll back and then we both looked at each other, and laughed. Our laughter directed weird glances towards our way but in that moment I didn't care. It was fun being with him.

"Now let's go."

Grabbing my hand he walked me to his car. Getting in, we drove to the site.

I couldn't help but stir tension in between us. This was important for the both of them.

"Humaid? May I ask you something?"

"You know you don't need a permission. Just shoot. What's the matter?"

"Look I know you have a soft spot for Minaxshi and it's a good thing.

I... It's just."

"Since when did you start being nervous around me. Trust I won't eat you. I've already finished one burger. Though I won't mind another."

His tone was filled with amusement and I glared at him. Which obviously did nothing for my good.

"Do I look like a burger to you?"

I wasn't really offended but whatever the case, you just cannot call a girl- a damn burger!

"Your words, not mine."

For just a brief second he raised his hands from the wheel to give me the universal signal that he was not to be taken at fault.

However, the statement seemed to pull him straight onto the track as he contemplated the words that flew from my mouth.

"Don't hurt her."

"Uh huh" His jaw was set hard, eyebrows furrowed as he concentrated on the road ahead, albeit I knew he was more into the subject that the driving.

But I was not satisfied with the monosyllabic conversation from his side, rather lack there of.

"'Uh huh?' I'm serious Humaid, she's a very sensitive woman. She trusts people easily. Do not make me mistake you by going with the interpretation that you're not worth trusting. It's just that, it bothers me to think its the earlier you with my best friend. Please don't break her heart."

If anything, his stance only hardened more, making me ponder if I'd somehow crossed a line.

"Did she mention something about...us?"

"No she didn't! But I'm guessing she's not very comfortable seeing us together. Not since Divyansh is too, in his own way, filling her up against you. I will talk to her, but before that you'll have to convince her. She will be relieved to a greater extent if she gets confronted by your very self."

Huffing, he finally let me get an insight to his mind, relieving me of the tension that somehow I might've slipped off track.

"I understand Ellie and trust me I'm trying hard to be the man for her. I've quit my earlier fashion of living. Nothing is hidden from you. You know well what kind of a man I was and trust me Ellie, I'm ashamed of myself and my past.

But I must tell you this, I'm a different man now. It's hard to believe but I'll take every chance to prove to her that I really have changed for her. I just need some time."

After a few moments of rigorous thinking, I rested my case on the fact that Humaid, out of all things was a man true to his word. If he's onto something, I know he'll work hard for it.

"I trust you. And I understand that it's hard but know that if at any point you need my 'consultation', do not hesitate, I'll always be up for it." Giving him wink, we both stepped out of the car.

It was still quite dusty, so I had to cover both my organs of inhalation by a spare handkerchief I knew was lying somewhere in my purse. While searching for it in the vast contents of my bag, my gaze suddenly fell to the car's window. I spotted Minaxshi looking at us... Begrudgingly?

Oh boy! She wasn't happy.

I looked at Humaid who was already looking my way, and guessing by the smirk playing on his lips I think he'd already seen her watching. I furrowed my eyebrows, wrapped up in the confused state of what was going on here.

He came to me and gently placing a hand to my lower back guided me towards the entrance. Putting his glasses on midway, head only raised to a bit to see the reaction of his lover, he carried me forward.

At this point it seemed only fair to pass a judgement, and in a way, a warning even.

"To the devious smirk that rests on your, oh so handsome face, I would like to inform you, in prior, that the asshole in you will result in you losing her completely."

"Worry not babe, for this is only the start... of winning her... Completely."

What the hell was happening?
