Rescue

 After I pointed to the gate I quickly ran off, hid behind some trees, and watched as the kids climbed out of the carriage and started walking to the front gate. 

'phew, I'm glad they understood what I was trying to tell them' I thought. 

As I watched them walk to the gate, I was also watching the wall and what the guards were doing. Most of the guards were watching the kids walk towards them but there were a few that looked high-ranking yelling at each other. 

I'm guessing they're trying to figure out what to do with them, oh hey look the captain of the guards' I thought.

The captain of the guards is now on the wall talking to the other higher-ranking guards with a face of anger and disgust. 

I hear him yell " GUARDS DRAW YOUR BOWS AND AIM AT THOSE WRETCHED DEMON CHILDREN".

My eyes widen and my mind goes blank and my body moves on its own as it summons a vine wall in front of the children to protect them from the arrows. 

"FIRE" the captain yells. 

The vines weren't fast enough. A few of the kids that were further in front got hit with arrows but the wall protected all of the slower kids in the back that had trouble walking including the brave one. The kids drop to the ground behind the wall almost like they have given up. The brave one looked up at the wall and looked back towards me. 

'can she see me? That one has great senses' I thought 

She then looked to the left at one of the kids who was lying on the ground who was hit with an arrow and ran out of cover dodging arrows flying at her. She then grabbed the kid and carried him behind the wall and broke off the end of the arrow so it was shorter and not in the way. 

'Wow she's a fearless kid' I thought

After admiring her will I noticed that the arrows stopped so I looked at the wall and I noticed that their all talking like there waiting for someone to show up. You know what that's enough sitting around, I start to move the vine wall back towards me to keep covering the kids as they fled. Someone in a red robe showed up on the wall I can only imagine what he does. He holds up his hands and the air above him starts to flicker and a fireball starts to form above him. aw crap, I quickly summon another vine wall in front of the first as the mage throws the fireball toward the wall. 

Smoke quickly arises after it hits the wall. I cast a breeze to blow the smoke at the wall so I could blind them and see if the kids were okay. As the smoke moves I see the kids covered in soot but still alive and then I see the vine walls the one that took on the fireball is completely gone and the second one is very thin like you could just flick it and it's fall over. So I quickly summon another vine wall and keep them moving and I also cast a water wall and put it facing the wall so it'll defend better against another fireball. 

As the smoke clears from the wall the mage shakes his head and walks away. I'm guessing he's either out of MP or they're out of his range. Finally, they make it up the hill and back to me in the woods.
