Chapter 8: Friends? Or more...

Apparently Camila wanted to get drinks together after work, so that's why she wanted to see me.  Talking to her on our way to the café, we really seemed to get along. That girl was the definition of goofy and was even clumsier than me. She had told me no one really laughed at her jokes as much as I did. Which was probably because I always laughed at the most stupid things.

I had texted Dinah after work not to worry, cause I was having drinks 'with some girl named Camila.'

We chose a table next to the window, and right when we sat down, Dinah stormed into the café. She ran up to our table, her face full of excitement.

"Camila?" Dinah exclaimed. "Oh my god Mila, it's been ages! Have you considered my offer?" She said engulfing the girl into a tight hug, followed by Normani who did the same thing.

"Yeah Dinah, I wanted to call you later or tell Y/n to pass you the message. It didn't seem safe to do so at work, since we are being watched very closely after the break-in. I was about to talk to her about it." Camila said.

Wait. what? So she knew I was Dinah's friend? That's kinda weird. How did these two know each other?

"Eh... what's going on here? Dinah, how do you know Camila and why are you here?"

"We'll explain once we're outside. Let's go somewhere less crowded. Maybe we can just drink something at home." Normani spoke, mentioning me and Camila to follow her.

After a long walk, all of us ended up at our base, but we made sure no one was following. It seemed a bit strange that they took Camila to our secret place. Did she know about it already? Why would they let someone who works for Lena know where we hide? How could they trust her with that?

"Woah this place is awesome! You really changed it up!" Camila exclaimed as we descended the hidden stairway and entered the base. She looked around with excitement written all over her face.

"Welcome to your new home Camila" Dinah smiled. "Well, if you accept my offer."

"I will join you, Dinah. With my ninja skills we can defeat the bad guys" Camila said making weird gestures and jumping around.

"Eh, that seems like a great idea..." I spoke, with doubt lacing my voice.

"Haha y/n I'm just kidding. I might not look like the right person for this job, but I have a lot of skills you don't know of, such as hacking. Otherwise Dinah wouldn't have asked me to join." Camila smiled.

"So how do you know Dinah? School?" I questioned.

"We both used to be in this small group of hackers during the time you were gone. We did the same thing as you do now, but on a smaller scale. Sadly we had to stop due to some problems when one of the members got caught. We split up for safety reasons."

Maybe having Camila on our team wouldn't be that bad of an idea. She had access to the Luthorcorp network and had easier access to all the files and documents of the company. On top of that, Camila could hack into the company way easier from the inside. She didn't even have to hack necessarily, she probably knew a lot of the passwords too. Unlike me, Camila also had a keycard at Luthercorp, giving her access to some of the more restricted areas. Even ones that Lena didn't show me.

"I'll tell the girls to help you get your stuff, Camila.  I know it's fast, but we have to be, in order to be one step ahead of Lena. You can move in today." Normani said and called the others to get ready.

"I didn't expect it to be today but sure! I know the situation with y/n you told me about is urgent. My lease ends next month so it isn't that big of a deal. Lena pay's her employees well so one month of rent won't be that bad."

...

Since Camila moved in the same day, we ended up going to work together. She held my hand and pulled me with her towards her desk, because she wanted to show me something quickly before I had to go meet Lena. Camila seemed to hold hands with most of her friends so it didn't bother me. She even held Dinah's hand from time to time. I usually wasn't that affectionate, but it didn't bother me too much.

We were headed there until a voice stopped both of us in our tracks.

"Well well... what's happening here?"

It was Lena, who to my surprise didn't look very happy at all. She was glancing at Camila and I's intertwined hands. For some reason it seemed to make her pretty angry.

"Eh Good morning miss. Luthor." Camila smiled awkwardly. "Do you need something? A coffee, maybe?"

"Could you let go of Y/n's hand and get to work, please? What's next? You making out with her at your desk? I didn't hire you to flirt with other employees. Especially not with y/n." Lena hissed coldly.

"I..It's not what y... you think miss. Y/n and I are just friends, I'm just like this with friends. But I'll get to work now." Camila said clearly intimidated by the other woman.

"Yeah... right. I still don't want to... see this on the work floor, I'd appreciate you keeping your hands to yourself. y/n probably feels uncomfortable too..." Lena answered still glaring at the poor girl. Her cold gaze could probably even make the strongest scariest creatures crawl into a corner.

Was Lena jealous?

"Y/n, you come with me." Lena said in a much softer tone, snapping me out of my thoughts. She was way less harsh on me. Luckily. Because angry Lena nearly made me shit my pants. As if to mock Camila, she now took my hand while staring at Camila with a daring look, and pulled me with her towards the elevator.

...

Nothing else really happened today. Just me showing Lena the studies and design ideas I made, and I must say she was really excited about them. She even had some ideas herself.

That was until Camila showed up when work was over, and picked me up at Lena's office. Instantly Lena's mood changed. Me getting along with the receptionist seemed to make her blood boil.

"Remember to stay professional, miss Cabello."

She kept creepily staring at me and Camila as we walked down the hall towards the elevator. Holy shit that woman can scare the crap out of me.

This is fucking ridiculous! I have to call Kara... Or I'm going to lose it. My own employees, hitting on her.
