Chapter 16: The Invasion Part IV

"Who's next?"

Mikazuki's question was replied with someone hurling a lightning projectile at him. The young Genji simply knocked it away and stared at the next opponent, a female Takahashi with short wavy dark hair with purple tips.

Mikazuki recognized her as Takahashi Reina, the one who enjoys putting her enemies through great pain, both physically and mentally, before humiliating them and killed them in a brutal way. He also knew how strong she was, but he discarded that thought as he picked up a staff and broke it into two. Mikazuki then sharpened them into sharp weapons and glared at the smiling Reina.

"Just because you killed Koutaro easily doesn't mean that you can defeat me," Reina said with a smirk. "I am going to enjoy tearing you apart."

"Make your move." Mikazuki replied and quickly sprinted towards Reina.

Reina fired a powerful lightning bolt at Mikazuki in which the Genji dashed to the right side and threw one of the broken staff into the air. He watched Reina prepare to fire another lightning bolt and kicked the broken staff, causing it to fly straight through Reina's shoulder.

"AARGHH!! YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!" Reina shouted in pain and jumped into the air.

Mikazuki quickly appeared above her and locked her neck with his legs. His left arm grabbed Reina's right fist while his free hand gripped tightly around the sharp weapon. Giving a creepy smile at Reina, Mikazuki repeatedly stabbed Reina's face with the sharp weapon and destroyed the body with a powerful Repulsive Force.

As soon as Mikazuki landed on the ground, he found himself unable to move and realized that one of the Takahashi paralyzed him with some sort of technique that required eye contact. The other two Takahashi rushed at him with one of them jumped into the air and summoned hundreds of gigantic arms while the other fired a powerful stream of flame at Mikazuki.

The combined attacks resulted in the entire area being destroyed, dust scattered everywhere, blinding everyone in the area. It was unfortunate for them as Mikazuki, who managed to escape at the very last second, swiftly killed the three Takahashi. He even brought one of Takahashi's heads that he decapitated and threw it to the last Takahashi.

"You are cruel. Now, I am confused whether you are a human or a demon." 

"Neither."

Mikazuki looked at the opponent standing in front of him and walked away. The opponent chuckled and noticed a deep gash on his abdomen, shocking him.

He then thought to himself, 'He landed a cut on me without me noticing? How fast is he?!'

The man coughed up blood before slumping to the ground and succumbing to his injury.

Walking to the building where Mikazuki felt a very intense and powerful energy that belongs to Ryujin, he kicked the door and saw Ryujin staring at him with a malicious look. Both of her arms now took a demonic appearance.

"It's quite pathetic that you allied yourself with Irene and accepted a small part of her power just to kill me," Mikazuki said as he grabbed the katana case behind him and teleported it to Mad's cabin. "I shouldn't have listened to Arashi-san that day."

"You are a fool for listening to that old pathetic bastard who wants to make peace with your clan." Ryujin countered with a sneer.

"Is that why you killed him in his sleep?" Mikazuki angrily asked Ryujin.

Ryujin laughed hysterically in demonic voice and said, "MY CLAN DOESN'T NEED A FOOL LIKE HIM TO BE THE HEAD CLAN! I AM THE ONE WHO CLAN NEEDS! NOT HIM! NOT MY PARENTS! AND I AM GOING TO KILL YOU RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!"

"So be it."

The battle began with Ryujin running at Mikazuki with insane speed and punching him which the Kamigan wielder blocked it. Ryujin then swung her left fist at Mikazuki, causing him to let go of Ryujin's punch and block the hook. This allowed Ryujin to kick Mikazuki with a force that knocked him several meters away.

Recovering from the kick, Mikazuki quickly ran to avoid a barrage of crystallized projectiles and jumped onto the rooftop. He noticed Ryujin was chasing him from behind and leaped into the air. As expected, Ryujin dashed towards him and swung her fist at Mikazuki.

Mikazuki blocked the punch by grabbing her wrist and thrusting his palm to her abdomen several times. He then pulled his right arm away and struck her in the face as hard as he could, sending her crashing to the ground.

"I have no intention of letting you live to see the next day, Ryujin."

Ryujin stood up and chuckled. She then said, "And I have no intention of sending you to Irene. I am going to enjoy carving you slowly but painfully."

The head clan of Takahashi grabbed a corpse and hurled it at Mikazuki which he dodged it. From the corner of his eye, he saw Ryujin sped towards him with her fist covered with demonic energy. Both threw an unseen punch that connected to each other's fist and created a massive shockwave that knocked the two fighters away.

Mikazuki stood up and saw Ryujin firing a volley of hyper-concentrated demonic energy at him, forcing Genji to run away. But then he realized that the energy blast acted as heat seeking missiles. With no choice left, Mikazuki was forced to tank the attack and received a kick to his back, sending him straight into a building.

"What's wrong? Did I kick you so hard that you began to cry and want your mommy to come here to save you?" Ryujin mockingly said to Mikazuki with a wide grin.

Suddenly, the building was destroyed, and Ryujin briefly froze in fear when she sensed Mikazuki's immense energy. Before she could react, Ryujin was assaulted by Mikazuki and the assault ended with a powerful kick connected to her chin.

As she crashed into the same building that was destroyed earlier, Mikazuki performed Repulsive Force. Ryujin blocked the attack with her hands and fell to her knees. Her actions of course made Mikazuki insult her.

"Look at you. Kneeling before me while praying to your parents who you killed years ago. You are pathetic if you think you can kill me in that state. No matter what you do, you won't be able to kill me. Even if you trained for 1000 years."

Mikazuki slowly walked towards her as Ryujin chuckled which turned into laughter. She then said, "You really believe I have no chance to kill you? If that's so, then prepare to die!"

Ryujin sprinted towards Mikazuki and delivered a spinning roundhouse kick, knocking him away. When the young Genji stood up, Ryujin delivered rapid-fire punches that Mikazuki parried. Unfortunately, the last punch was a feint attack as Ryujin headbutted Mikazuki and fired a high-concentrated demonic energy at point-blank range.

Before Mikazuki could fall to the ground, Ryujin grabbed him and dragged him while running. She then threw him away and fired another high-concentrated demonic energy at Mikazuki. As Ryujin waited for Mikazuki to stand up, she had a small flashback of her having a conversation with Irene.

"Tell me. Am I stronger than Genji in his current state?"

"I don't know. Maybe yes, maybe not. Just don't make him angry."

Ryujin watched Mikazuki slowly stand up as the injuries that he sustained healed immediately. She was about to say something when Mikazuki suddenly appeared in front of her and bashed his fist reinforced with Repulsive Force that knocked her several meters away. When she stood up, she received a powerful punch straight to her gut followed by a front kick.

'What's with this insane strength!! Is he holding back?' Ryujin thought as Mikazuki ran at her and kicked her in the face.

When Ryujin extended her right arm, Mikazuki grabbed the wrist and twisted it. He gave the coldest stare at Ryujin and brutally ripped it from the socket. Mikazuki then knocked Ryujin to the ground with the arm that he ripped and stomped Ryujin's right shoulder.

Ryujin screamed in agony and tried to fight back, but Mikazuki mercilessly pummelled her face. While brutally pummeling Ryujin, he thought of someone.

'I'm sorry Amaris. I am truly sorry. I couldn't… I just couldn't let my anger control me. I couldn't do it this time.'

Mikazuki kept pummeling and then ended with a powerful double-axe handle slam to her face, destroying the front of Ryujin's skull and seemingly killing her. He stood up and looked at her with disgust before spitting on her face.

"Trash."

Mikazuki turned around and walked away before flying into the air. He stopped and looked at the village with a final gaze. Remembering how Ryujin concentrated her demonic energy earlier, Mikazuki did the same thing and formed a dark energy sphere on his right palm.

An orange ring soon appeared which rotated around the sphere that now possessed an orange aura. The technique began to take the appearance of a black hole as Mikazuki declared,

"With this technique, I will wipe this place off from the face of the Earth."

In the living room of Genji's clan household, Shizuka, Nishiki, Yukiko, and Renji were stunned when they felt the immense energy output. Their eyes widened as they looked at each other.

Even Mad, who was in his cabin located extremely far away from the location, felt the energy output. At the same time, Irene, who was busy with her sick experimentation on a young man, stopped her work and gave a wicked smile when she sensed it.

Mikazuki launched the sphere towards the center of the village and watched everything including the corpses to be pulled towards it. He then flew away as his technique exploded, leaving a titanic plume of dark smoke in the sky.
