The tale of a lone cultivator

Chris Parker reincarnates, after experiencing mysterious circumstances. In his new life, which is also full of mysteries, he looses many things, due to an attack of the ones he should be protected by. After that, he allows no one to get close to him and finds the path that is stated as evil by others, to get revenge on those who betrayed him. (P.s.: the real storyline begins with chapter 6, so if you don't want the background information just start reading from there on out) (P.p.s.:The chapters before chapter 6 are relatively short and not as good as the ones thereafter. I hope that if you don't like the beginning that you'll try reading the longer chapters. Thank you.) (The chapter release rate will depend on how much support I get, so if you want more chapters per week, give feedback, so I can improve my writing skills, and power stones to encourage me in publishing more frequently.)

Buying a new weapon

Idris ran fastly, slowly reaching the rear most carriage. As he arrived besides it, he jumped inside.

He had already seen the high walls of Veritas. Judging from their size, it had to be a big city.

Shortly after the convoy reached the wall, a gate appeared. It was several metres high and guards stood around it.

They stopped the carriages and looked in each one. After checking everything they waved the wagons through.

As they rolled inside, a great scene unfolded in front of them. It was very lively and many people ran around in the streets. The houses were high and many shops were located in them.

Idris looked around to find a store in which he could buy a new weapon. Many merchants sold weapons, so it wasn't easy to pick the right one. Apart from them, one particular shop caught his eyes.

Outside of it were swords, lances, knifes and many other weapons on display. They were very well made and looking at the prices, they were neither too expensive nor too cheap. He had to come back ro this place later and buy something.

Fortunately he had taken money with him which he had placed into his spatial bag.

Idris also noticed that this city was, just as his hometown, separated into districts, it was probably the same division too.

Soon after, they arrived at an noble-looking house. It was taller than the buildings it was surrounded by and way more regal.

The children that came from the other schools were partially poorer than nobles and it was their first time inside such a good looking building.

Everyone exited their carriage and followed the teachers inside. There was a reception desk they headed to.

The teachers told the woman behind the reception their number. Then all of them needed to state their names and wait for them to be assigned to their designated rooms.

While waiting, Idris looked around in the lobby. Extravagant chandeliers hung down from the roof and made everything as bright as it was outside the building. Tables and chairs were placed all over the hall.

Besides Idris and his class nobody was here, since the other schools hadn't arrived yet.

The headmaster was called to the reception and spoke with the woman. After their conversation, Herbert turned around and raised his voice: "Attention please! The rooms are now ready to enter."

Then he informed everyone of their room number and gave the keys to the designated people.

Idris had the room number 216. 2 because he would reside in the second floor and 16 as the number of the room on that floor.

He directly headed into his chamber. Therefore he needed to climb dozens of stairs and then seek for the number.

As he entered the room, an exquisite, sweet scent came into his nose. He breathed in and out a few times, before closing the door and examining the insides.

Idris found a gigantic bed in the middle of the room, with a desk besides it. On it stood a vase with flowers. There was a closet too. The floor was red and the wall and roof were white, on both was not even a little dust to see.

But before Idris did anything, he wanted to visit the shop he had seen before. He needed a new weapon as fast as possible. After that he would also cultivate for a bit. Not to brakethrough, but to be so close to braking through, that he could do it while fighting a stronger opponent. He also wanted new clothes.

Idris immediately ran downstairs again and out of the door. The headmaster had said they could do everything they want for a week, when the tournament would finally begin.

He came onto a busy street and turned left to search for the shop. After a few minutes of searching he found it again.

The weapons here were very good in quality. He inspected the ones that were on display. After nodding, Idris entered through the door, above which a sign was that stated "Aaron's weaponry".

The interior was nothing special, but everywhere were some kind of weapons, reaching from swords to something like kunais.

A bell rang, informing the owner that a customer had arrived. A burly man came out of a door on the other side of the shop.

He greeted Idris: "Welcome sir, I'm the owner of this store. You can call me Aaron. May I ask what you're searching for?"

Idris nodded and responded: "Hello, I'm looking for a knife. It has to be about 30 centimetres long and relatively light."

Aaron just smiled and said: "Please follow me."

Idris did as he was told and came at a shelf where many knifes and daggers hung on nails.

Some were longer and some shorter, some were out of metal, some out of iron. Others even had golden ornaments on it.

He took one after another until he found a good one. It was longer and heavier than he actually wanted it to be, but it felt great swinging around. It was also sharp and could easily cut wood.

It even had a magic circle drawn on it. If Idris poured his mana into the magic circle, the knife would change its length and weight after his will. If used well while fighting, one could even win against more powerful opponents, since it would be unpredictable and so, hard to counter.

It's price was 20 gold coins, which was a high price for a weapon. But Idris knew that this knife was worth its price.

He bought it and then searched for clothes. A red noble-looking shirt caught his eye. It had gold on it too. Idris thought of taking it, since he had nothing to show his status as a noble.

Besides the long sleeved shirt he took gray pants and black shoes. This is what he would wear every time he didn't engage in any battle. The outfit costed 30 gold coins.

Idris was almost out of money, but he had still enough for a pleasant stay in this city.

I hope you enjoyed the chapter.

I would appreciate any kind of support and feedback.
