Soft rays of morning sunlight filtered through the curtains gently rousing Kai from his sleep. It was 6:00 a.m.. The air outside carried a chill on this Friday morning.
He slowly opened his eyes, his body protesting the day ahead. The relentless training from the previous day had left his muscles sore, a testament to his dedication.
With a groan, Kai summoned the energy to sit.
He stayed perched on the edge of his bed briefly giving himself time to adjust to the notion of getting up. Raising his arms overhead a chorus of yawns broke free, from him.
Kai stretched his arm out to grab his phone from the nightstand.
The screen brightness confirmed that it was still early. "Looks like I'll be starting my day early " he muttered quietly.
He followed his routine heading towards the bathroom. Splashing water, on his face helped wash any lingering traces of sleepiness.
He paused for a moment gazing at his reflection and considering the tasks that lay ahead for the day.
A quick glance at the clock indicated it was time for his morning shower. The warm water cascaded over him, providing temporary relief from the lingering ache in his muscles.
As he bathed, his thoughts drifted to his upcoming journey to Naimisharanya and the mysterious Naimisha Forest.
The excitement of the adventure ahead mingled with a tinge of uncertainty.
After rinsing the soap off his body Kai made up his mind to have a conversation, with his family about his plans today. He knew it wouldn't be easy to persuade his parents.
He was determined not to let that discourage him.
Once he dried himself and put on his school uniform Kai headed towards the kitchen. His family had already gathered around the table engrossed in a discussion, about the day
Kai joined them. There was an air of warmth and laughter. The delightful scent of breakfast filled the room bringing a smile to his face.
Amidst the lively chatter, Kai finally mustered the courage to bring up his upcoming journey. He began by sharing his desire to travel with Leon and his intention to leave after school today.
His father, always the understanding one, raised an eyebrow and inquired about the details. "A trip with friends is fine, but why for so long, and where are you going?"
Kai considered his response carefully. "The place we're going is quite far, Dad. In fact, it's so hard to remember that I can't recall the name right now."
Concern etched his father's face as he voiced his worries. "It could be a dangerous place, Kai. Are you sure about this?"
Kai reassured his father, his voice filled with determination. "I promise, Dad, we'll be safe. And I'll call regularly to keep you updated."
Although his father appeared worried, he eventually nodded in reluctant agreement.
Kai's mother, however, had reservations. She initially refused, stating firmly, "No, you're not going anywhere."
Kai persisted, attempting to reason with her, explaining his plans and promising safety. But his mother remained steadfast in her refusal.
The battle of wills raged on, and Kai's determination was met with maternal concern. After some time, his mother relented, agreeing to let him go, albeit with a list of conditions and plenty of warnings.
As Kai left for school, the weight of his mother's worry and her eventual consent weighed on him. He couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude and relief that his family had ultimately supported his journey.
On his walk to school, Kai couldn't resist sharing the morning's events with the ever-present System.
"Your Parents are too protective for you," the System remarked.
Kai let out a chuckle watching his breath create a cloud in the crisp morning air. "Yeah they do tend to worry about me quite a bit and honestly I can't blame them. I was always getting into mischief when I was a kid."
The System chimed in, "You're still a kid in my view."
Kai protested, "No, I am not a kid now."
Their banter continued as Kai made his way to school, ready to face the challenges of the day with the newfound support and understanding of his family.
