The hero

There were four magical beasts in this group attack. A giant brown bear with red eyes and sharp claws,a silver coloured wolf,a giant spider and the black python than was devouring the wolves carcasses. They came from different directions as encircled them.

The soldiers wore solemn and serious expressions as they drew out their weapons, ready for battle. Even though they knew that victory was an impossible feat, they had to protect their young miss who was in their middle.

The giant bear roared and charged towards them, but the silver wolf was faster and reached them first. It swung it's sharp claws at one of the soldiers who ducked quickly and rolled away. Another guard at the side saw the wolf's attack and swung his sword,leaving a bloody mark on it's limb. The wolf retreated as the bear rushed in and also swung it's claws at the soldier who was unlucky as he was impaled at his chest,killing him.

Seeing that one of their comrades as killed,the others fell Into a frenzy. They clashed with the bear,managing to kill but with two other guards being injured.

Sophia who was on their midst,was frightened as she saw the fight going on. She was the young princess of shining star city and never had she experienced such a fight. She felt powerless and confused as time went on. The battle progressed with the soldiers on the on the disadvantageous side.

By now,two soldiers had died with the others suffering different degrees of injuries. Just as they where about to lose hope,the sound of rapid footsteps was heard. Sophia looked in that direction and saw Charlie running towards them.

He ran up to the wolf and swung his sword towards the wolf's neck,killing it on the spot. Without stopping, he ran towards the bear and they engaged in combat. After exchanging a few moves,Charlie killed the bear,greatly reducing the pressure on the soldiers.

Seeing that two of their companions were killed by Charlie, they shifted their attention to him,recognising him as the greatest threat.

The soldiers collapsed on the ground dead tired. Both beasts rushed towards Charlie as they teamed up against him. Seeing this,Charlie was calm as he got into a stance with his sword in his hand. Sophia was starstruck as she watched him fighting, looking like a hero as he engaged the beasts with a calm look. The python slided across the floor as it swung it's tail at him. Charlie dodged the attack and swung his sword, cutting off it's tail,making it hiss in pain. The spider shot a string of web at him,hitting his back and pushing him forward a little,causing him to lose his balance. The python rushed forward in anger and dove in to bite him with it's poisonous fangs. Seeing this,he swung his fist,throwing a punch at it's head with impeccable timing. The blow connected and made the python's head swing backwards.

Seeing such an opportunity, he rushed forward and attacked it's open neck,swinging down with all his strength. The python was beheaded ,with it's body thrashing around and blood flowing out. He turned and went after the spider,killing it quickly and walking back to the group who were still resting. There were shocked as they saw the fight. The beasts that gave them so much trouble was handled so quickly by a little boy. They smiled wryly as they remembered that there almost offended him due to their arrogance.

Meanwhile, Sophia was still looking at Charlie with her eyes shining. As he walked up to them,he saw her looking at him and was intimidated with her intense gaze.

"Miss Sophia, is there something wrong with my face?". Hearing his question, Sophia snapped out of her daze and was embarrassed.

"There's nothing wrong with your face. I was just surprised that you had such strength at such a young age. We're almost of the same age,you know?" She said as she lowered her head,hiding the blush on her face.

"Ahh,it's nothing much actually. With miss Sophia's talent and a little training, you'll be just as strong". He said politely.

"If you say so" she said with a beautiful smile on her face. The soldiers who where present were shocked as their young miss who was usually cold to people was smiling so much. Realising what was happening, they just looked at each other and shook their heads.

'The young miss is probably in love ' the thoughts crossed all their minds but soon remembered their lost comrades as they became sad.

"I advise you take care of those bodies quickly. These beasts are sensitive to the smell of blood and would probably rush over very soon". He told them as he walked past them and sat down on a rock.

"They are already dead. We should bury them and leave before more beasts arrive". Sophia said as she looked saddened as well.

They did as they were instructed and buried the dead soldiers,meanwhile,Charlie was going through the battle in his mind.

'From the look of things, I've become stronger after my second awakening. And by a lot as well' he thought as he remembered the battles he had with wolves.

'Now that I think about it,when I go for the star regional sect recruitment,I'd need to keep one of my martial spirits a secret,so as not to make myself stand out much'.

'But which one of them do I hide though? The yin yang martial spirit is very strong and versatile while the dragon martial spirit gives me herculean strength. At least,that's what I know about them for now. Hmmm.... I'll just have to consider it later. After all,it's still about a month away,so I have a little more time to think about it'. Sophia was watching him as he sat down on the rock,lost in his thoughts and felt her heart beating faster.

'What's wrong with me? I just can't stop thinking about him. I can't be seriously into him,right?' She thought as she blushed and wondered.

"Since we're done here,are we heading out now or.....?" Charlie asked as he saw them covering up the graves.

"Young miss, what do think?"the leader of the soldiers asked Sophia who was still lost in her thoughts.

"Huh?ooh... I..um.. let's continue then. It's getting late and we should leave in case any beasts comes". She replied as she stood up as well.

"Which direction are we headed in,by the way?" Charlie asked as he was unaware of their next destination.

"We'll be heading to stardust city which is the Eastern direction. After that,we'll be going to the stardom country where the star regional sect recruitment will be held". Sophia said.

'Wow,i was about to head that way as well. Maybe if I had gotten to stardust city, I'd have gotten the information about the event there'.

"Okay,let's go then". He said as he picked up his sword and bag, ready to leave.

The others also packed their things up,ready to set out. They left and started heading for their next destination.

"The journey will take a few days as well. After leaving the forest, we'll need to pass a small desert and some villages before getting to the city. Even though there were only five cities and one country In the star region,there were a few villages located outside the cities as well. They travelled all day and set up camp in the evening, as everyone felt tired. While they rested,Charlie left on his own to do some training. He first searched for antmy water source around and after an hour of searching,he found one. He practiced his swordplay repeatedly while going through his previous fights in his head,looking for ant little improvement he could make.

"I can feel my movements have become more fluent these days. I'm improving so fast!!" He said to himself with joy and pride. Due to the constant battles,he felt his potential being stimulated. Allowing him to improve quickly.

'Like this,when I get to the star regional sect recruitment, I'll definitely be selected and can even become an inner disciple' he thought ad he headed for the stream he had found and was about to take off his clothes when he stopped.

"Haven't you seen enough yet,miss Sophia?" He said with an amused smile in his face.

"Or do you want to see me having my bath? You know, that's a rude thing to do. For a person as beautiful as you,I never thought toy would be a pervert". He said without turning back.

"Ahhhh!!" She screamed as she realised that she had been caught. She was about to run away when she stopped. She knew that if she ran away,she would be admitting that she was really a pervert and she was spying on him while bathing.

"I wasn't looking at you,I was just...um..looking for..um.. fire wood. Yes,I was looking for fire wood". She said.

"Oh really?,you left the camp and cane all the way here just for look for fire wood?"

"Yes,I did".

"OK,but what happened to your guards then?,can't they get the wood to make a fire themselves?" He asked again, knowing she wouldn't be able to answer.

"I...I...you see..they...are injured so I came to get it for them". She said triumphantly.

'Hmph,you think you can make a fool out of this young lady?, you're too young to do that'.she smirked at her victory.

"OK so,are you done yet? I need to take a bath". He said while rolling his eyes,giving in to her.

"Ahh yes,I'm done. See you later". She said as she ran into the distance, going back to the camp.

'Silly girl 'he thought as took of his clothes and walked into the stream for a bath.
