Chapter 6 We Fight a Big Dog

After the sleepover I discovered a few things.

One. Yes, Gabe's stink did hid Percy's demigod scent. Percy told me that so far no monsters have started attacking him so that's a relief.

Two,I didn't have to feed Manda because shadows don't get hungry. Though when Manda got injured when he fell from the window on the third floor he regenerated quickly and acted as if nothing happen. But as he regenerated I felt that I was losing a bit of energy which I now called mana.

Three, Percy and I discovered that he can do a lot with his powers as a son if Poseidon. Controlling water and breathing underwater was a given but I didn't also think that water can make him stronger and HEAL him. He's gonna be undefeated when the battle is near a body of water.

Four, I learned a bit of my own powers aswell in my meditation before bed I increased my sight from 5-10 seconds to 6-11 seconds which is a big accomplishment for a 4 nearing 5 year old.

Another thing I learned is that I have a large capacity of mana. When I asked Alecto about this mana thing she said sons of Hades are naturally born with large amounts of mana, so son of Hades for the win. And about my gem powers, I still cant make it uncursed. But when I can make it uncursed I'll give it to Percy so they can use it to help with their financial problems.

Five, well I turned 5 years old and the furies gave me a gift from my father, two black daggers that would grow with me in size and power. It would turn into bracelets in my arms and I would just have to cross my arms as to make my daggers appear.

The daggers names were Punish and Judge. It was made of Stygian Iron.

Percy turned 5 years old aswell and received a pen as a birthday from a strange man in hawaii t-shirts. Who I'm guessing was Poseidon.

We found out it can turn in to a perfectly balanced sword. Sadly it can't be used for writing.

When Percy thought he lost the sword, he's clumsy that way, it magically returned to his pocket. That's pretty useful to be honest. That means he will never be unarmed for long. The swords name was Riptide. It was made of Celestial Bronze.

We just left our Kindergarten class and we both went towards our mothers.

"Hey mom can we go to the park with Percy and his mom?" I asked with excitement.

"Sure let's go and ask them if the want to come." She said. They said yes. I can't help but feel excited.

Why am I excited to go to a park you may ask?

You see since we recieve our gifts we have been practicing and sparring with each other using our powers and weapons, and sparring with him I found out that he's a monster with a sword. And when Percy told me he saw a car sized hellhound on the park I just couldn't resist the temptation of fighting it and making it my shadow.

Yeah when I told Alecto of my power, she explained to me that its one of the rare powers of children of Hades, and that I can only turn monsters and animals into my shadows and not humans. Which I'm cool with that.

When we reach the park our mothers sat in a bench a bit far from us. Happily talking with each other.

"Alright are you ready?" I asked Percy.

"Yeah, I have been so excited since this morning."He said with a grin.

I can't help but notice that my Best Friend and only friend became a battle maniac because of all the sparring matches we've been having.

" Yeah, I was getting excited just thinking about it. " I replied in kind.

Well I can't say I didn't become a battle maniac myself.

We began our search for the Hellhound. Our moms thought we were just playing tag since we were running around to look for the monster.

We found it in the woods. Fighting a girl around our age. Well fighting would be too much, since the girl was only running away from the giant dog.

When she saw us she yelled for us to run away.

I looked at Percy and we both simultaneously nodded.

He took out Riptide and I took out Punish and Judge and activated my Future Sight . I didn't bring out Manda, well because he's just a small snake and he won't be able to go against a giant dog.

I 'saw' the movement the Hellhound was about to do. He was gonna lunged at the girl.

"Duck!" I yelled to the girl.

She did what I said and was able to dodge in time. But the hellhounds attention was now on us. I 'saw' him go after Percy first.

"Percy be careful!" I said.

He nodded and intercepted the monsters claws with his sword. As the hellhound was distracted I didn't waste any time and went for the killing blow. Slashing with both Punish and Judge the monsters neck and killing it instantly as disappeared in an explosion of golden dust. (Just imagine how Levi slashes a Titans neck.)

Its shadow just there flickerling like a flame in a windy day.

I raised my fist against Percy and he bumped his fist against mine while grinning madly. Me mimicking his grin.

Katie PoV

It was supposed to be a peaceful day with just me and ny dad.

We went to the paek to play and hang out. We were having fun, until I saw a giant dog looking straight at me.

The giant dog I can tell its one of the monsters I frequently see that no one notices, not even my dad. And everytime I tell someone that I see monsters they look at me like I was crazy and proceeds to lecture me how monsters aren't real and I shouldn't joke about them.

My dad was just next to me having a rest being tired because of playing with me after he just got out of work. I didn't want him to be attacked by the monster because of me.

"Dad I'm going to play with the other kids I saw back there." I said standing up from the bench.

"Okay just be careful alright?" He said with a tired smile.

"Okay!" I said as he closed his eyes to have a rest.

Thats when I started running with a giant dog running behind me. Thats when I saw a lot of trees, no the woods.

'There's a higher chance to lose him there' I thought.

I didn't know why but the moment I enter the woods I felt faster, better and safer. Its like I belong here.

I keep running and taking hard turns here and there to confuse the monster. It worked.

This game of cat and mouse keep going a few minutes until I was starting to feel tired. And that's when I saw them.

Two boys around my age with both jet black hair and tan skin. The only difference between them is the color of their eyes. The one on the right has a pair of Sea Green eyes while on the left had a pair of Blood Red eyes.

"Run away." I yelled at them

But they didn't they just nodded at each other and the one with Green eyes brought out a pen from his pocket, while the one with Red eyes crossed his arms with his hands looking like their holding something.

'Are they stupid! A pen and whatever his doing!? Really?! ' I thought angrily.

But then I saw it when the boy with green eyes uncapped the pen, in the blink of an eye it transformed into a sword thats way to big for him yet his holding it like it the most normal thing there is for him.

The other boy the one with red eyes, his bracelet transformed into two pitch black dagger that unlike his friend's sword fitted his hands perfectly.

The boy with red eyes yelled at me to duck.

I did. And that's what saved my life.

But the monsters attention was now on them.

The monster lunged at the green eyed swordman/boy? But it looked like he was prepared and intercepted the giant dog with his blade. While the dog was distracted, the red eye boy took that chance slash at the monster's neck with his daggers, killing the monster instantly while it exploded into golden dust.

They just stood there bumping there fist and grinning wildy like the just devise a great prank and not killed a giant dog that's been chasing me for last 5 minutes.
