Battle of The Three Parties (Part Three)
"Wow! The former four eyes has gone crazy!" Dante commented while panting.
Currently, Niles was rushing toward them while randomly swinging his longsword to the skeletons that were on his way. At the same time, he was continually barking with a hoarse voice like a mad dog would do.
Niles was a level 4 participant now. Thus, killing these skeletons was much easier for him. It wouldn't even take him two minute to catch up with the duo.
As of now, Dante and Ulfred took many wounds, but they didn't receive any severe damage from the attacks of the skeletons, all their injuries were superficial.
They couldn't produce enough damage to kill skeletons in a short time. Thus, more than half of their stamina has run out.
For Dante and Ulfred, the skeletons were tough creatures to kill, but the same went for the skeletons. It was a situation that neither side could effectively kill the other.
The reason for all of these was the absence of the weapons.
Thanks to the longsword, Niles was able to kill the skeletons even with his level 1 strength. A sword here was an absolute advantage.
The duo managed to come this far only because of their abnormal stat points. If there had been other participants in their places, they would have long been dead.
After Dante had seen Niles killing each enemy with a single swing of his sword, he understood that it was the time for another gamble. Since things have come to this point, they wouldn't be able to hold on any longer.
"Old man, this can't go on. We need to do something." Dante said while trying to keep the skeletons away from himself.
"Niles is charging alone! It's a chance, killing him wouldn't be hard for us!" Ulfred said with a husky voice. He was also closing to his limits.
"You're right. It's a chance, but it's a deadly gamble at the same time. I knew a proper weapon would make a great difference, but I never thought it would be this great. He is killing every enemy with a single blow. If we are careless, he can one-shot us too. Also, he will be much stronger when he catches up to us."
"Yeah, it seems like we did well with not fighting in the cave," Ulfred said while throwing skeletons to Niles in hopes to slow him down, but those skeletons became EXP for him in the end. He killed them with one stroke as always.
"If we could have killed Niles in the cave, the other newcomers wouldn't have a reason for fighting us. But you have thrown them all those skeletons, they probably hate us now."
" I wish we could have killed him, but Niles himself wouldn't have fought us at that time. He would have sent his men first. Anyway, it's not important anymore." Ulfred said and gave a sigh.
Suddenly, the two became talkative in the middle of the battle. It wasn't a good sign.
That meant they were out of favorable options.
Dante continued, "Until now, we have only managed to kill fifteen or so skeletons. All we did was weaken our enemy for Niles to kill. Sigh... I thought clearing the dungeon would be a piece of cake for us after we reached level 7, but look at us now. It's always a hassle to kill these guys."
Dante and Ulfred had to level up as soon as possible in order to restore some of the stamina they had spent. Otherwise, they would be in grave danger soon.
Stamina was one of the most important factors when fighting against a crowd.
They still had to pass thirty or so skeletons before reaching the dungeon boss. It would be an easy feat for them if the skeletons weren't in a formation. On top of that, these bastards were attacking them in waves. So, it was especially hard to bypass them with the fatigue they were currently experiencing.
Dante looked at the dungeon boss. Like a true boss, it hasn't moved from that point even once. Its henchmen did all the work for it.
"Sigh..." Dante sighed again. "Old man, throw me to the dungeon boss." He said calmly. This crazy idea had been in his mind for some time, but he hadn't told Ulfred about it.
"What? Do you think you can kill it alone when surrounded by thirty-something skeletons? Unarmed at that! Forget it! I would rather throw you to Niles! It's a better choice!" Ulfred said. For the first time, his voice contained anger.
"It's not a wild dream, old man. The dungeon boss is just a little bigger than a normal purple-lined pygmy skeleton, and it should also be light-weighted. The strength difference between them shouldn't be that big."
"Its sword is small and rusty. It doesn't look sharp either. If it lands a blow on me, I shouldn't die with one stroke."
"On the other hand, Niles' sword is more than two times longer compared to that rusty shortsword. He's faster and heavier than a purple-lined skeleton."
At this time, Niles the mad dog started to bark again, "DANTE! COME AND FACE ME! I WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND PEACE IF I CAN'T PERSONALLY KILL YOU TODAY! I..."
He continued to bark with a very loud tone of voice, but the duo ignored him. Because of his rage induced actions, he only ended up slowing himself down by attracting more skeletons. Thus, he earned the duo more time.
"Old man, whatever we do now, it's nothing but a gamble. Soon, we'll have to face Niles. I think... making a choice while we have the chance is a better... and a logical decision."
Dante had said his last words while heavily panting. He was very close to his limits. On the other hand, Ulfred was faring a little well compared to Dante. His stamina was depleting slower due to his high vitality, but his limit also wasn't too far from him.
"I'll choose to believe in you again!"
"Haaah!"
As soon as Ulfred's words fell, he grabbed two skeletons from their heads and hurtled them toward the other skeletons with sudden explosive strength, clearing the area around them in a second!
After that, Ulfred turned to Dante and crouched down, interlocking his hands together at the same time.
"Don't disappoint me... Boss!" He said, with his usual stoic expression.
A sincere smile bloomed on Dante's face, and he gave him a nod. There was no need for words.
The old man's words had touched Dante's heartstrings upon hearing them. He has never thought that one day he would hear that word from this stoic-faced old man's mouth.
Ulfred didn't have a reason to call Dante 'Boss'.
Since the events occurred in this way, he had to give the old man a reason, and the perfect chance was in front of him!
Dante has sped up as much as he could before he stepped on Ulfred's interlocked hands. With the support of the old man's great strength and his earned momentum, he sprang into the air, flying straight toward the dungeon boss!
Between them, there were just twenty meters of distance that was filled with skeletons. Ulfred's and his current strength were more than enough to surmount this distance.
The red glow in the eyes of the dungeon boss intensified upon 'seeing' the flying Dante, and it finally made its first movement by taking a battle stance. It held the rusty sword in front of its chest.
Jumping on a monster that was holding a sword in hand was a risky move. It could easily stab the unarmed Dante. However, he wasn't dumb enough to disregard this fact.
Dante had a thighbone in both hands. While in mid-air, he threw one of them to the dungeon boss with all his might, aiming straight for its head!
"Eat this!"

It protected its head with the rusty short sword, but because of its light-weighted body, the impact was too much for it! It staggered backward and lost its balance!
That was all Dante needed!
*Bang*
Dante's right heel landed on the head of the dungeon boss! It was a downward kick that backed by all of his strength and his sixty-four kilograms of weight!
