Duy ran through the streets of Konoha, his heart pounding in his chest. He had planned to meet Guy for their usual training session, but when his son didn't show up, worry began to gnaw at him.
As time went on, his concern turned into outright fear. Duy searched every possible place Guy might be, asking villagers if they had seen a boy in a green jumpsuit that looked like him. Each negative response only heightened his anxiety.
"Guy! Guy, where are you?" Duy's voice cracked with desperation, his eyes frantically darting between dark alleys and side streets.
The lively village now felt like a suffocating maze, every looming shadow a possible hiding place for his beloved son. His heart raced with fear, imagining all the worst outcomes as he continued to call out into the chaos.
His mind went back to the numerous training sessions, the shared moments of joy, and the unwavering determination in Guy's eyes. The thought of his son being in danger made Duy's chest tighten painfully. Each second felt like an eternity as he sprinted through the streets, his normally steady breathing now ragged with panic.
Just as despair threatened to overwhelm him, Duy was spotted by an Uchiha police officer on patrol. The officer, noticing Duy's frantic state, approached him with a mix of caution and concern. "Might Duy, we have been looking for you," the officer said.
"My son, Guy. I can't find him anywhere," Duy replied, his voice trembling. "He was supposed to meet me for training, but he never showed up."
The officer's expression shifted to one of urgency. "We need to talk. There has been an incident involving your son."
Duy's heart skipped a beat, and a cold chill ran down his spine. "An incident? What happened to my son?" His voice was filled with a mix of dread and anger.
The officer took a deep breath before continuing. "Might Guy was found unconscious and severely injured. He's been taken to the hospital. We tried to contact you, but—"
Before the officer could finish, Duy's emotions erupted. His eyes widened with a mix of horror and fury, and an intense, raw chakra began to surge around him. The ground beneath him cracked, and the air grew thick with his unleashed energy. Without realizing it, Duy had opened several of the Eight Gates, his body trembling with the sheer force of his anger and fear.
The raw power of the Eight Gates radiated from Duy, causing the air to shimmer with heat. The ground under his feet began to crumble, sending small rocks and dust swirling around him. The overwhelming chakra pressure created a shockwave that rippled through the street, causing nearby villagers to stumble and cry out in alarm. The once lively marketplace now echoed with gasps and whispers as people backed away, their faces pale with fear.
The officer stepped back, his Sharingan activating in response to the overwhelming chakra. He could feel the oppressive weight of Duy's fury, a palpable force that sent shivers down his spine. The three tomoe of his Sharingan spun rapidly, trying to predict any potential outburst or movement from the enraged father. 'This chakra,' the officer thought, 'it's monstrous.'
Villagers nearby felt the sudden shift in the atmosphere, their curious glances quickly turning to looks of alarm as they instinctively moved away from the epicenter of the disturbance. Mothers pulled their children close, merchants abandoned their stalls, and a hush fell over the bustling market as everyone tried to comprehend the terrifying power they were witnessing.
Throughout the village, key figures felt the massive surge of chakra. Sakumo Hatake, Hiruzen Sarutobi, Orochimaru, Danzo Shimura, Tsunade and many other shinobi all paused in their respective activities, their senses immediately on high alert.
Sakumo, recognizing the chakra signature, swiftly made his way towards the source. He knew Might Duy was a more formidable shinobi than his rank would indicate, but this display of power was beyond anything he had previously sensed from him. The sheer intensity of the chakra radiating from Duy hinted at depths of strength that was almost primal in nature.
Meanwhile, Duy's face contorted with a mix of anguish and rage, his normally calm demeanor replaced by a fierce, almost primal intensity. "Guy," he muttered, his voice low and filled with pain. The ground continued to tremble beneath him, cracks spreading outwards like a web of fury.
Duy's chakra, fueled by his overwhelming emotions, surged uncontrollably. The initial gate, the Gate of Opening, burst open, enhancing his physical capabilities and amplifying his already formidable presence. Without conscious effort, the Gate of Healing followed, and then the Gate of Life, each gate releasing more power and heat into the atmosphere. By the time the Gate of Pain opened, Duy's chakra flared wildly, creating visible, rippling waves of energy around him.
The Uchiha officer felt genuine fear. The pressure and sight of Duy's transformation were overwhelming. It was not just the raw power that terrified him, but the sheer unpredictability of an enraged shinobi who had unlocked the gates. He could see steam rising from Duy's body, a clear indication of the immense strain and energy being released. The officer's Sharingan whirled, trying to anticipate any movement, but the chaotic energy made it difficult.
"Where is he?" Duy growled, his voice barely human, more a roar of raw emotion. "Take me to my son."
The officer, despite his training and experience, could barely maintain his composure. He had seen powerful shinobi before, but the raw, unchecked might of the Eight Gates was something else entirely. "Please, calm down," the officer managed to say, his voice shaking. "We'll take you to him. Just... try to control your chakra."
Realizing the fear he was instilling in those around him, Duy took a deep breath and deactivated the gates, the oppressive aura gradually receding. The heat in the air began to dissipate, and the ground stopped trembling.
As Duy's chakra faded, the villagers cautiously returned to their routines, though many still cast wary glances in his direction. "I'm sorry," he said, his voice strained. "I didn't mean to frighten anyone."
By the time Duy calmed down and apologized, Sakumo had arrived at the scene. He saw the tension in the air and immediately understood the gravity of the situation.
Sakumo approached him, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Duy, I heard what happened. Let's get you to the hospital to see Guy. I'll make sure justice is served, and I'll report this to the Hokage. Your son is strong, and he'll need you by his side."
Duy nodded, his eyes still blazing with residual anger but tempered by the need to be with his son. "Thank you, Sakumo. I need to be there for him."
As Duy was escorted by the police officer to the hospital, Sakumo turned towards the Hokage's office, his mind racing. The display of power he had sensed confirmed what he had always suspected about Duy's potential. The sheer magnitude of his chakra hinted at a strength that few in the village possessed. He knew he had to inform Hiruzen immediately to prevent further alarm.
Arriving at the Hokage's door, Sakumo knocked firmly. "Enter," came the Hokage's voice from within. Sakumo pushed the door open and stepped inside, greeted by the sight of Hiruzen Sarutobi sitting behind his desk, the village's map spread out before him. The Third Hokage looked up, his expression shifting from curiosity to concern as he took in Sakumo's serious demeanor.
"Sakumo, did you find out what happened with that burst of chakra?" Hiruzen asked, setting aside his paperwork.
"Lord Third," Sakumo began, his voice steady but urgent. "There's been an incident involving a first-year ninja academy student, Might Guy. He's been severely injured and is currently unconscious in the hospital. His father, Duy, lost control for a moment upon hearing the news. His chakra output was immense, and it alarmed many in the village as you noticed."
Hiruzen's eyes narrowed, his expression darkening. "Tell me everything," he said, leaning forward in his chair.
Sakumo recounted what he had been told in detail. Hiruzen listened intently, his hands clasped tightly in front of him.
"Duy's reaction was understandable, given the circumstances," Sakumo concluded. "But it revealed a level of power that we must take into account. Guy's condition is critical, and I fear for both his recovery and the impact this incident will have on Duy."
Hiruzen remained silent for a moment, absorbing the information. "This is an important situation," he finally said, his voice heavy with concern. "We must ensure that Guy receives the best possible care and that those responsible for this attack are brought to justice. As for Duy, we need to provide him with support and reassurance. His power, while formidable, must be channeled constructively."
Sakumo nodded in agreement. "I've advised Duy to go to the hospital to be with his son. I believe his presence there will be crucial for Guy's recovery."
"Very well," Hiruzen said, standing up. "I'll issue orders to ensure that this incident is thoroughly investigated. Thank you, Sakumo, for your swift action. We must act decisively to address this situation and prevent further unrest."
Sakumo bowed, relieved that the Hokage was taking the matter seriously. "I'll remain at your disposal, Lord Hokage. If there's anything else you need from me, please let me know."
Hiruzen gave a curt nod, already turning his attention to the tasks at hand. As Sakumo left the office, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. If Guy could be attacked so brutally, then he worried that others might be targeted as well.
He recalled Kaizen getting attacked last month and wondered if it was coincidental, or a developing pattern.
'I should assign some clan members to follow Kakashi from now on, just in case. I know Kaizen already has a detail of people secretly protecting him, so I won't need to worry about him.'
