Life inside the Sect (2)

In the meantime while 24 new disciples were inside the Pagoda of elements, Yang Ning exited his house after partially analyzing the map provided to him by his Master. He understood analyzing the map thoroughly took time, hence he decided to grab some fresh air after isolating himself for a couple of hours.

Looking at the sun and bright sky, he took a deep breathe and exhaled. Thinking he had some free time, he decided to walk around the sect and see what everyone was up too.

The Sky Sword Sect location was on top of a tall mountain called Sky Peak Mountain, due to the height of the mountain literally reaching the 'sky'. The tallest peak is where Elders and Core disciples stayed in. The middle section was where the Inner Sect Disciples lived in and the lowest part of the mountain was were outer sect disciples stayed in. The reason why most sects were located in mountains was mainly due to heightened increase of elemental energies present. Although there was never a real reason why spiritual energies were more abundant the higher they were, the common consensus amongst the population was that the sky contained less obstacles, less population and was much cleaner as compared to being on the ground. That didn't necessarily mean that no sects existed on the ground. There were places on the ground in the Dawn continent that had abundance of spiritual energy, however these places were hard to come by hence most sought to have sects build on mountains instead.

It also had a philosophical view amongst the cultivators as it reminded them daily that their mortal selves no longer existed and were now cultivators whos lifespan exceeded that of non cultivators.

The first direction where Yang Ning arrived in was the Sect cafeteria in the Outer Sect. The reason why the Sect Cafeteria was located in the Outer Sect as those below Core Realm still had to rely on food for sustenance. Once cultivators reached the Core realm, their reliance on food no longer became and issue and the energy of the world was enough to sustain them. However, this didn't mean once an cultivator reached Core realm, their appetite disappeared. It mainly became an inconvenience as time cultivating was prioritized first.

Yang Ning landed close to the Sect cafeteria where multiple Outer Sect disciples saw him. Unfortunately for Outer Sect disciples only those in the Core realm could fly, hence most still walked or used beast as mounts to travel. Many female disciples also saw him and could not help but feel flustered

"Its Yang Ning, ahhh" cried passionately some female disciples

Some even fainted to grab his attention while other females looked at him seductively. Yang Ning could only smile wearily as he dodged all attempts the female disciples used at him. He had forgotten to disguise himself as he usually did. In the eyes of the world, Yang Ning could be considered extremely handsome amongst the female population, however, not everyone thought that way, and there were the males. Some looked at him with jealously, some with rage and some with envy. Yang Ning could only sigh even more when he noticed the males looking at him.

He entered the cafeteria quickly and found a private room to settle in. He then noticed the Sect Cook approaching him

"Seems like youuuuu forgot your disguise again" laughed the Sect cook.

With his body slouched on the table he lifted his head up and looked at the Sect Cook "Don't laugh at me Zhao Jingyi"

Zhao Jingyi then patted Yang Ning as if patting a puppy then replied "Sooooo, what food should I could you today"?

Yang Ning slowly pushed the delicate hand patting him and sat himself straight on the chair

"Can you get me something you recommend. Although I would generally get the usual beast steak I feel like trying something new"

Zhao Jingyi putting her finger her chin thought for a moment before ecstatically replying

"I know what to cook youuuu!!!"

"There's this new dish I've created which I named the Floooowing Lava noodles. It's supposed to help you gain enlightenment!"

Yang Ning couldn't help but look at Zhao Jingyi skeptically when she mentioned the new dish she created.

"Flowing Lava noodles...."

"Help Gain enlightenment..."

Zhao Jingyi stood there looking at Yang Ning whos faced had concerned expression

Chef Zhao with a big devilish smile shortly after said

"Just stay here okay brother Yang, I'll cook the Floooowing Lava Noodles extra special for you okayyyyy. Don't worry, It won't kill you".

With that, Chef Zhao left the private room to cook her dish. Yang Ning could only stare at her back unblinking before she left his sight.

"Her personality never changed even after 10 years" said Yang Ning silently.

When Yang Ning was taken in as a personal disciple of the Sect Master, one of the first places he want to was the Sect Cafeteria. He had taken a seat in a corner when Chef Zhao appeared all of sudden looking at him with a curious gaze. The first thing she said to him was

"You look like a saaaaaad vegetable"

Before Yang Ning could even reply, Chef Zhao brought out a plate of food which looked like curry and placed it in front of Yang Ning

"Just eat this and you'll feel muuuuchhh better"

Yang Ning couldn't help but smile thinking back what happened in the past. He had not adjusted to his circumstances which was the main reason in Chef Zhao terms, looked like a saaaaad vegetable. Throughout the years, Chef Zhao and Yang Ning eventually became good friends.

After waiting for a couple of minutes, Chef Zhao came in holding a bowl full of noodles and soup. The soup was bubbling like lava and the noodles glistened while soaked in the soup. Yang Ning couldn't help but stare and question if this was edible

Chef Zhao placed the bowl on the table and looked at Yang Ning as if she had won a prize

"This is myyyyyyy new dish" wiping her sweat off her forehead

"Don't just look it Yang Ning. It won't kill youuuuuu.... I think"

Giggling, Chef Zhao then waited patiently waiting for brother Yang to take his first bite

Yang Ning looked at Chef Zhao with an agonized face before looking at the bowl that looked like red lava, bubbling and popping. With his right hand trembling, he picked up his chopsticks and slowly picked up a noddle close to his mouth. The noodle glistened hanging off the chopstick, whilst the spicy smell permeated his nose. Looking at Chef Zhao with a pleading look, he saw no remorse but a face that demanded he eat it. Sighing internally he took a bite...

Slowly adding chapters this week. Trying to juggle between work and writing. Didn't think writing was eqivalent to a fulltime job!

Hope you enjoy~
