"Please stop making things vague, Eclipse-author, you just replaced the first synopsis! Finish the cover you promised me and just copy-and-paste our conversation from a few months back.."
Yes, yes, I'll just send it over here... why'd I make her so bossy again?
*cue typing and copy-pasting*
"You are an interesting specimen, so I shall give you the role of... 'Background Character'." said a voice, ethereal to the ears of mortals the vicinity.
'A.. background character?' Thought a young girl, stature and age of 6, with middle parted rich brown hair close to red, eyes so grey you could mistake them from being blind, a small mole beneath the left eye, peach-like skin and body wrapped in a white laced dress.
There she kneeled, in front of the altar, with her father, short, bright, slicked back lime green hair, same grey eyes, pale skin dressed in silk and lace befitting of a noble man, seemed to be in 30's and a scar right above his right eye, kneeled by her side, smiling and praying for his daughter.
"And as an.. on quote, consolation, I shall give you the skill; 'Fourth Wall Breaker'." Followed the voice that spoke to her head.
"What title did they give? What kind of Author are they?" Her father asked anxiously.
"They.. gave me the 'Background Character' title" said the girl, anxious about her father's reply.
For a few seconds, silence and the sound of light breathing covered the room. The girl didn't look up to her father in fear of seeing eyes of disappointment.
"Darlene..." her father said, rather slowly.
"That's great sweetie! Finally! The Authors have given our family a break for once!!" She jolted in his change in tone.
She finally looked up to see her father in tears, a shit-eating grin plastered across his aged face and both arms in the air, as if celebrating this occasion.
"Father?" She cautiously asked. She didn't know why he was so happy. Their family consisted of legends throughout the generations and she was the only one given an insignificant title.
"Oh! Sorry darling. I'm just so happy!" He said, still in tears, as he picked up his daughter and cradled her in his arm.
"Is.. is having this title a good thing?" She meekly asked.
"Of course! The Authors of the past only gave us history-significant titles, and our ancestors' only wish was to have one of us live a normal life! And you, granted their wish!" He happy explained to her.
"Uhm... is having this explaining voice part of the 'normal life' wish?" She once again asked.
"There it goes again!" She- huh?
"Yes you! I keep hearing you in my head for the past few minutes and you're scaring me!"
... she can't hear me, can she?
"Yes I can!"
... oh right.. I gave you 'Fourth Wall Breaker'.. Well I didn't know that you can go so far as to hear me..
"Well I can!" She loudly exclaims to 'me'.
"What's with the quotations??"
"Darlene sweetie, who are you talking to?" Her father asked.
"This random narrator voice in my head that claims they gave me my skill!" She exclaimed.
"Oh! You can hear an Author's voice? What did they say to you?" He asked.
"They keep narrating us and adding 'he asked', 'she exclaimed' and basically describing everything we just did!"
Hey! No one else is supposed to hear me, only you. So stop complaining because it seems that I am stuck with you.
I'm ending the chapter here. The fourth wall breaker skill that I gave is too strong. I fear for how I'll write this.
"You're the one who made this skill, so at least take responsibility! I keep hearing two voices in my head and one of them ain't mine!!"
huuu- I've finally lost her, please give me thoughts on how I can improve both this book and her character. My skill has become stagnant over the year and I'm hoping to get my motivation back.
