My head started spinning; I did not know what to say. My eyes were walled up with tears. I was feeling trapped there. I wanted freedom. I wanted to run. I was lost in my thoughts. Emma shook my arm to get my attention. I shifted my gaze towards Emma. She was smiling. I was trying to stop myself from crying.
I was hoping that someone would tell me that this was just a dream and not the real thing. I fixed my gaze on the child-drawn image hanging on the wall. The image was of a family. A mother and father were shown in front of the house, holding the hand of a small child.
“Why are you sad?” Emma asked with a curious face. I lowered my gaze for a second and then looked at Emma. “These were happy tears. I was just thinking about the amazing moment when I proposed.” I then rose to my feet. I started walking towards the window on my left. I then started looking outside the window.
