...The Gods...

Dylan remembered that he read a book about the ancient Greeks and their myths.

- You're right! I remembered where I saw those symbols, but I forget their meaning. A long time has passed since I read about them, what about you Laila? You seem like you have an idea.

- I read Greek mythology in class, but I don't remember the details since it wasn't my favorite subject.

Dylan stood up and prepared himself to leave.

- Where are you going?

- The only way to get our answers is to search inside books. We are in Greece so I think it won't be hard to find a book about this mythology. I won't be late.

- Wait, I will go with you.

- Alright! I might need your help.

Laila and Dylan went out of the hotel to search for a library.

- I was surprised when you asked to come alongside. I thought that you got annoyed by me, earlier.

- Not you, but your questions. It is not easy for me to talk about my past.

- Alright, I'm sorry to dig up painful memories.

- It's okay. Let's go, we must hurry up.

They found a library not far away. Fortunately, it has a lot of books talking about Greek mythology. Dylan checked some, then he bought one.

- This is the book we need. Let's go back.

Laila seemed distracted:

- What's wrong? Is there something?

- N...No....did you find what you were looking for.

- Yes, I did.

- Good! Let's go back.

Dylan felt that there was something wrong with Laila's behavior. She seemed suspicious.

- Oh, hold on! I....I...must go to the toilet. You can go if you want.

- No, I will wait for you.

- As....as you wish...

Dylan became certain that something was happening with her.

" I must know what is she hiding from us. what can make her come out with me and behave this way? it seemed like someone was following her but I will sense it if that's the case."

After a while she came back while smiling:

- I'm sorry, I couldn't wait until we arrive at the hotel.

- It's okay.

They went back to the hotel room while the rest were waiting for them. Dylan opened the book and started flipping its pages until he found what is important to them

- Listen to this carefully. Ancient Greek theology was polytheistic, based on the assumption that there were many gods and goddesses, as well as a range of lesser supernatural beings of various types. Zeus was the sky god, sending thunder and lightning and lightning is his symbol. Poseidon (the trident) ruled over the sea and earthquakes, Hades (the scepter)  projected his remarkable power throughout the realms of death and the Underworld, and Hephaestus  (The forge hummer). Aphrodite (The sparrow) controlled love. All significant deities were visualized as "human" in form, although often able to transform themselves into animals or natural phenomena.

- So, all these symbols belong to mythical gods.

- Yes, exactly.

- What is their relationship with what we are looking for?

- Maybe the gods weren't a myth like humans believed.

- Do you mean that they existed for real?

- What if they weren't gods?

- What do you mean?

- Humans assumed that they were gods because of their superpower. They didn't know about us or any other different kind.

- You're saying that these gods could be those strangers who came from the mysterious world?

- That's the most logical analysis, considering that they have a human shape.

- But they are only seven! We have here twelve gods.

- Well, humans have a very wild imagination. I don't think the stories written about them are also true. They built a whole world around their existence.

- Let's assume that what you are saying is true, those seven strangers traveled from Egypt to Greece and hid a part of their treasure in the Parthenon. How are we going to find that treasure? we don't have anything else except these symbols.

- You are right, Aaron. Something is hidden in that place. Those symbols weren't put in those positions randomly.

Dylan took a piece of paper, then he started drawing the temple with all its columns and the place of the symbols.

- They are connected somehow.
