35. The Kyubi’s attack (3)

'So, this is how it ends.' thought Aiko as the claw neared him, it was like time had slowed down around him, after seeing the man on the streets die that day, Aiko had contemplated a bit about death and felt uncomfortable towards the unknown nature of it, but maybe because of his calm mind skill now being active, the possibility of death as a outcome of his actions did not incite any fear in him, as all his focus was on the safety of Kushina and Naruto.

He activated the seal and sensed the jump points deciding to teleport to the cave with his opponents.

Just as the claw was about to hit him, he found himself standing at a high place and saw Minato had replaced the position he had been in with himself as Kyubi's tailed beast bomb detonated mid air, lighting up the sky.

"Noooo!!" he heard a scream that made his heart clench, and saw a few huge red chains break the other half of the house and he saw the white half of the creature being shredded into pieces.

Minato had placed seals on multiple parts of the bandages he used to treat Aiko's injuries, the type that would alert him if they get destroyed or the boy's wounds reopened again, he had also added his hiraishin seal along with it.

Just as he was looking for a place to teleport with the Kyubi, he felt the seal react and realised that Aiko was fighting as all the seals reacted at once, wanting to ensure his family's safety before he carried out his plan, he teleported to the location of the house where they were at.

As Minato landed with the Kyubi and his summon destroying half the building due to the huge size of the Kyubi, he noticed Aiko was about to get pierced and switched positions with him sending him on top of the Kyubi's head while he faced the creature.

'Just in time.' thought Minato as he formed a Rasengan slamming into the creature in front of him, but he didn't come out unscathed as the creature's claw pierced his stomach.

Like any target that had been hit by the Rasengan the creature got pushed back slamming into trees and breaking many in the process as it flew out of sight.

Minato fell to his knees clutching his stomach as he tried to stop the bleeding of his wound with chakra but noticed that he was losing control of his body and chakra and saw black smoke rise from the place where the creature had stabbed him and his skin around the wound turned black and the condition started slowly spreading to other parts of the body.

'It is corrupting my chakra!' He thought as the chakra he used to try and push the smoke out of his body turned black too and he started losing his senses as the world around him turned dark, the last thing he heard was a scream, 'Kushina!' he thought before losing consciousness.

Aiko created a shadow clone and sent it to Kushina as he teleported to Minato, he sensed that Minato's condition was getting worse, the marking of Minato in his mapping skill which was golden in colour (due to chakra assimilation skill) was now slowly turning black.

Detecting the source of the problem to be from the wound, he poured his chakra into Minato to try and expel it but quickly stopped as he noticed it only sped up the process.

"Let me help, kiddo." he heard a loud deep voice and saw the toad flick its tongue extending it and wrap Minato, Aiko felt a strange energy get transferred from the toad into Minato and even though the corruption did not reduce, the speed of spreading clearly became slower.

"It is working, please transfer more energy." said Aiko, looking at the toad, thinking about the nature of the mysterious energy.

'So nature energy works' thought Gamabunta as he swallowed Minato into his stomach, he wasn't proficient in its usage; it was the maximum he could do at the moment.

"I am taking him to my home, where others can hopefully help him, you deal with this mess, I will inform Jiraiya about the situation." he said looking at the Kyubi which was now tied in red chains made of chakra and held in place. 'Today is the worst.' he thought, but he had his pride and did not want to let his summoner die under his watch and vanished into a puff of smoke along with Minato.

Aiko nodded his head and teleported to Kushina's location, the situation on that side was not good either.

Kushina had never felt such helplessness in her life as she watched the boy who she was supposed to protect fight with his life on the line again and again for their family.

She had begun gathering chakra as soon as the creature had made its appearance, even though it was painful as her chakra networks were basically destroyed, she did not stop as she decided she would protect her children even if it was the last thing she would do.

So even though she was exhausted, she observed the fight and waited for a chance to attack and thought it was over when Aiko had managed to cut the creature in half, but she watched as the black part of it tried to stab Aiko, she wanted to help , but wooden trunks grew from the white half of the creature stopping her chains as it sent spikes her way attacking her, she deflected most of it and watched from the corner of her eye as Minato appeared saving Aiko.

This split second distraction proved fatal as the creature suddenly changed its target to Naruto who was beside her, she managed to stop the creature by impaling it on one of her chains but was a bit late as a nail from its finger detached shooting like a projectile and pierced naruto's stomach.

"Noooo!" she screamed in horror shredding the creature as she looked at the baby beside her, Reacting to her emotions the nine tails chakra started leaking from the seal, but she didn't care as she herself felt like destroying the world as her chains went on a rampage destroying the other half of the house.

"Kushina-san, please calm down, Naruto can be saved." she heard a calm voice snapping her out of her rage as she looked at the orange haired boy beside her with a hand on her shoulders, the skin on his hand was burning due to Kyubi's volatile chakra, but he did not seem to notice as he stared at Naruto.

"How?" she asked her voice hoarse as she looked at the boy with despair.

"Help in restraining the Kyubi, we are making him a Jinchūriki." he said looking at her seriously.

Kushina did not say anything else as she used her remaining bit of chakra and sent her chains tying up the Kyubi in place.

Aiko looked at the baby, which was crying in pain, but he sensed there was a source of chakra in its body trying to stop the leakage of its life energy, keeping it alive but noticed it wasn't enough and wouldn't last long.

He placed a hiraishin seal on the bed and dispelled himself sending the information to the main body because he needed as much chakra as he had to seal the Kyubi.

Aiko received the memories of the clone as he watched the toad disappear and teleported to Kushina quickly forming a few hand seals summoning a sealing Altar and placed Naruto gently on it and quickly moved towards the Kyubi performing a few more hand seals as he touched its head.

"Save him, if you want to survive." he muttered channeling all his chakra into the seal that formed on top of its head, the Kyubi screamed as if in anger as its body broke down into chakra flowing into Naruto as a similar seal formed on the baby's stomach sucking it in.

Kushina watched as the wound on Naruto's stomach healed as more of Kyubi's chakra entered him, even though she felt sad and guilty thinking about the life that awaited him as a Jinchūriki. 'I won't let you suffer any hardships.' she pledged as she lost her consciousness due to overexertion of her chakra and life force.
