Zek noticed the louder beats of her heart. It resonated in his ears. She was anxious. His question might have triggered it.
Laia was wishing that he wouldn't ask that. How can she lie to him? Would it even work? Her heartbeat makes it obvious.
"Did you happen to stumble on someone on your benefit?" He rephrased the question as he threw the towel on his head to the table in front. Her response would answer some of his worries.
"Yes." She replied, head nodding.
So that explains the stench of some blood in Melisca's clothes earlier. He knew it wasn't hers. Laia's behavior was obvious too.
