Don't you dare slander her

" I wish that you weren't my sister." Li Yan felt her heart shatter after hearing his words.

Don't cry! Don't cry! You are strong.. No matter how many times Li Yan chanted those words in her heart, tears started to form in her beautiful almond shaped eyes.

The door of their private room opened with a thud and both Li Yan and Li Ren turned their head towards the source of sound.

An angry figure dashed towards Li Ren and punched him hard on the nose. Li Ren covered his broken nose and widened his eyes on seeing the blood on his palms.

Before, he could say anything he felt another kick on his legs followed by very rough and hard slaps on his cheeks.

All of this happened so quickly that Li Yan wasn't able to react.

Zhuang Mei just stayed by the side and watched the show before them without any intention of stopping. She naturally heard everything what this ass hole of a brother spoke in the room. She was concentrated on listening to the happenings inside the room and did not notice that there was another person behind her who was more riled up than her.

Just when she was about to move, a figure dashed into the room. She recognised him in an instant, and immediately followed him into the room. She had to admit that she was so satisfied on seeing him hit that fool black and blue. So, she folded her hands across her chest and watched the show before her.

The teenager then lifted Li Ren by his collar and spat out the words coldly " Don't you dare slander her. I don't know what I will do to you the next time you berate her."

" What is she to you?" Li Ren asked while panting. His whole body is in pain and he did not understand why he is so protective of her. He cannot be her secret lover as he was far younger than her.

" She is a sister figure to me. And believe me, the next time I see you around her I'm going to kill you."

Li Ren looked at the boy before him and his sister " Have a good time with your younger brother. Li Yan, I am breaking my ties with you." Without even sparing a glance at her, Li Ren moved towards the door slightly limping.

" You don't deserve to be her brother." the teenager spoke while clenching her fists.

" Oh! So, you are fit ah?" Li Ren sneered mockingly.

But, he did not expect that the latter would actually smile and say " She is too good to be a sister to a brat like me." He paused for a while and continued " But, people like should not even think about her."

Li Ren pursed his lips and left the room slamming the door shut behind him.

The angry expression on the boy's face was replaced with a concerned one as he crouched before Li Yan " Sister, don't mind that fool's words. He surely will realise his mistake one day." He then frowned and spoke with large eyes " If you feel that you are lonely, then you just give me a call and this younger brother will be before you in a few minutes."

Li Yan stared at Min Zuo with a complicated look in her eyes.

She just stumbled on him by accident. One day, she found a little girl faint on the road. Everyone ignored her like a plague, but she didn't think twice before taking the girl with her to her home.

She then called the number on the id card, and a young boy picked up her call. He sounded worried when she told him her address.

She still remembered the wild and unruly boy who appeared at her doorstep in torn jeans and a wounded face. She could not forget the pleasant surprise on his face when he saw her.

He remained extremely calm even when she scolded him for being irresponsible. He stayed in her house for a week as she did not allow him to take his sister as she is weak. Truth be told, she doubted if he could take care of the little girl or not.

On the day he left, she still remembered how he asked for autograph with bright red ears.

" Sister, are you alright?" Min Zuo's gentle nudge brought her out of her thoughts. She felt a turmoil in her heart on seeing his worried expression.

Those who she cared about abandoned her in the end and the one with no blood ties what so ever stood up for her and is now worried about her.

Li Yan didn't know if she should be happy or sad. But, she did not want to make them worry about her. So, she nodded her head weakly indicating that she was alright.

But who knew that the brat would shake his head in disapproval. He grabbed her hand gently and poked his fingers on her bones " You are nothing but bones and you are telling me that you are alright.. sigh.." he signed dramatically at the end and got up " Sis, wait for me. I brought something for you."

Li Yan just stared at him and nodded her head slightly. Now, that was more than enough for this fellow to cheer up. So, he immediately dashed out of the room like a wisp of smoke..

Li Yan couldn't help but smile on seeing his antics.

" It's the first time you smiled after the accident.." Zhuang Mei spoke gently as she stared at Li Yan. She was relieved that at least a faint smile appeared on her face. If not she would have thought that Li Yan turned into an ice sculpture.

Li Yan thought for a while before scribbling " Little Min came at the right moment. If not for him, I would have been a crying mess by now.."

Zhuang Mei frowned on seeing those words " He is not fit to be your brother. So, just ignore him."

Ignore? Can she really ignore him?

She followed him from childhood and he was the only person to whom she opened her heart. Before, he left for his drama school their bond is strong like that of any other siblings.

All these years of waiting and who could have thought that she would be reduced to such a pitiful state in the eyes of her brother.

No matter what, he was and still is her brother.. She could not bring herself to hate him. So, she could only distance herself from him.
