Lillian could only shake her head with nothing but helplessness. Her eyes were glued to the man's face as she followed him outside of the jewellery store.
In the heat of the moment, she wanted nothing more than to wipe the smug look off of his face. It did compliment him in a good way, but she was hating the fact that he had put the poor manager to go through so much for his own sake.
Actually, it was for her sake. And the realization of it alone made her feel awful.
"You sure are enjoying yourself, aren't you?" She threw him a deadly glare once he had caught up to her steps.
"Why shouldn't I?" Blake shrugged his shoulders rather casually, making it seem normal. "I managed to get the thing I wanted so badly. What's wrong with that?"
The more she paid attention to his words, the heavier her head felt. She drew in a deep breath, trying to make herself a little better. There was nothing else she could do except for just rolling with things.
