Locked in a gaze, both men stood and simply stared at each other, and the tension between them thickened with each passing second. It was as if even, for the first time since they treaded these treacherous grounds, the wind as well had stayed silent, waiting for the next action to be taken.
Lerai simply observed, watching as both men stared each other down. It felt as though either could attack at any moment. Then, with a simple smile that erupted on the face of the strange man, the tension seemed to immediately die.
"Haha, well if that's so, then I better be on my way."
The blue-eyed man turned away from them, preparing to depart but not leaving them without a final message.
"We'll meet again," the man assured before disappearing in a blur.
"What was that about?" Lerai muttered, confusion evident in his tone.
