The water droplets remained hanging in the air for a moment as Aether eyes shone silver. The world around him was crystal clear, the flow of mana, the weaves of magic, everything was laid bare before him.
"What – some floating water is your solution?" The woman laughed out loud. Of course, a dark mage such as her would have no connection with the spirits of the world. "Laughable!" She shouted before quickly closing the distance between them once more.
As she moved closer, the water droplets suddenly rushed to the opposite direction, following a barely noticeable strand of magic.
Aether grinned. "There!" He whispered. He leapt up just before the witch reached him. The blade in her hand, made of pure darkness, harmlessly passed under him. Her eyes widened as she followed him with her sights.
"Where…?" She mumbled, more confused than anything. "You can't run away – you should know that!"
