Yetsune opens the door to find Nalan standing there, her gaze lowering to the tea set on the tray in Nalan's hands. The soft glow of lanterns hanging above casts a warm light on Nalan's face, accentuating the weariness in her eyes.
Nalan offers a faint smile. "I couldn't sleep," she replies.
Yetsune regards her with a perplexed expression. They've grown close, but she hadn't realized they were close enough for Nalan to seek her out during sleepless nights.
"May I come in?" Nalan asks, shivering slightly in the night breeze.
"Of course," Yetsune says, her lashes fluttering as she steps aside.
Nalan enters, placing the tray on the center table before sitting. Yetsune joins her.
"I thought to try some sleep-inducing tea," she explains. "Perhaps you too are having a sleepless night… Am I wrong?"
Yetsune's brows knit subtly, wondering why she assumes so, but she doesn't voice it. "I hadn't yet fallen asleep," she answers.
