The Prince Of The Elves

Someone once said that love and hate... are two sides of the same blade. When I met the princess of the High Elves, I did not remember who I was, where I was, or how I got there. Looking back, I was glad it turned out that way. If I had known who I was, and told her I was ELION WINDSTAR, son of the Sun elves, she would of killed me right then and there. Instead, she took care of the stranger, she found wounded in the forest. ELION had been slayed down with force and dark magic, in a battle in which he had lost the love of his life. TALILIA was held hostage by a nearby malefic kingdom. As bits and pieces of what happened came back to him, he found that love and hatred could equally consume a person with passions. At that moment ELION realized, the warrior princess could never know who he was. As they balanced on the fine line between friendship and romance, they made a pact. ELION would help MEIRA fulfill the quest she was destined for, as she would in return help him to find his identity. Little did she know, he was her sworn enemy, that only used her to find the love he had lost. When the time came and TALILIA was rescued, ELION found it hard to admit that he had fallen in love with someone else. Besides, she could not never be his, or could she? He did not know what hurt the most; being near her, while he knew she was forbidden, or her absence, knowing she was forever his?!

A beam of sunlight chased the darkness away. It was morning and I had not slept. I yawned when I looked at the still figure across the cave. He was sleeping soundly.

I had been studying the drawings on the wall all night, with no success. I could not afford to linger around too long, because I had to be back at my father's castle tomorrow night.

And If I did not have the sword with me, shame would fall upon my name. When I succeeded, I would become a legend. Not much pressure, right?!

I yawned when I saw a pare of strange colored, curious eyes looking at me. "Good morning." He said.

"Morning." I greeted him back and yawned again.

Last night I had filled my water flank again and found some fresh leaves. I walked up to him with both in my hands. "How are you doing today?" I asked. "I feel much better now, thank you." He said. "May I?" I questioned as my hand lingered before his face.

"Yes…" He mouthed, as his blue pale eyes wandered over the top of my outfit. "Hey!" I said stern. His eyes flashed back to mine. "It's rude to stare like that." I said caught of guard by his manly gaze.

"I was not staring at-" He said as he intently held my gaze, while raising his index finger.

"I was just looking at your necklace." He said. I saw a sheepish smile linger on the edge of his lips.

I smacked the back of his head, when he reached his hand for the long golden necklace, that lingered in between my bosom. "Ah.. Yikes." He hissed, bewildered by my course of action.

"Don't try something like that again." I warned him. "Well I am sorry." He said raising both palms of his hands. "What does the pendant stand for?" He asked me. His curious eyes still lingered on the pendant.

I sighed. "It stands for element magic." I stated, narrowing my eyes at him. "Now look up." I frowned, as I tilted his chin up with force. "Take it easy." He smiled. "You are not really the nurturing type, are you?" He teased.

I made a sour face. "I. Am. A. Warrior." I signified by intertwining my fingers, and cracking them one, by one.

"A female warrior." He mused. Why did he keep on making a point of the fact that I was a woman? In our kingdom it was very common, that woman fought wars as well. Maybe they had other customs where he was from?!

I made an irritated sound. "Now be quiet and let me look at your wounds." I stared him down. He pressed his lips together again, preventing him from smiling. Did he really find this amusing?

As I untied the leaves from his head, I saw a nasty cut across his face.

I probably should have better controlled my expression. "It doesn't look good, does it?" He asked concerned. "Mhhh…" Was the only thing I uttered.

I cleaned the cut and I made a bandage with leaf's again.

"Here." I said as I handed him my flask and reached for the berries, I found last night. "You should eat and drink before we go."

I stood up and watched the water of the waterfall clash on the rocks. "Where are we going?" He wondered.

"To the river, so you can see who you are." I suggested. I wasn't sure If we were only joking last night. "We are not coming back here, are we?" He hypothesized

I stretched my muscles. "Well…" I trailed of. "I am not." I turned around to look at him.

"Oh" Was the only thing he said. "Where are you going?" He asked somewhat suspiciously. "I am on a quest to find a certain object." Was the only information I trusted him with.

"Let's go." I said as I stretched out my hand for him to take it. He frowned. "I did not take you as the sentimental type." He ridiculed me.

"Ugh." I groaned. "How could a guy that handsome be so yucky." I mumbled under my breath. "I'm handsome huh." He wiggled his eyebrows. I took his hand by force and blinked my eyes.

"Woahhh…" He exclaimed in shock. We were standing above the rippling water of a calm stream.

"Now look." I said as I bent over. He gasped as he studied himself in the reflection of the water. "Not bad." He said in a cocky tone.

I contemplated if I should throw him in the water, or not. He deserved it anyway. "Now tell me honestly." He said tilting his head to the side. "What is behind the bandages?" I made a face with gritted teeth.

"Is it that bad?" He asked baffled. "It kind of really hurts though." He said flinching as he touched it. I looked into his pale blue eyes, as I gently took the bandage off. "See." I said, as I pointed to his image reflection.

"Ah." He groaned. "That's…"

I sighed. "If you wish I can heal it for you." I said as I noticed small holes in my pants. "Wait what?" He said in disbelieve. "With magic?!" He verified, looking incredulous. I nodded once.

"So, you are saying that you could of healed me all along, and you chose not to do so." He accused me.

"Hhhggg.. Don't be such a wimp." I said. "I don't really like misusing my gifts."

"Besides… a few scars here and there makes you stronger." I lectured him. I waved my hand across his face and the cut was gone. He touched his face in awe.

"Well.." I said. "It's time for us to part." He reluctantly stood up.

I grabbed his arm, as I wanted to pat his back, as a token of friendship. When I touched the armor on his shoulder, we both flew back in opposite directions, by vigorous force.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh." I screamed in pain, caused by the violant images that penetrated my mind.

My breathing sped, as I let them in.

"I should come with you!" He breathed. "You should come with me!" I gasped at the exact same time.
