Chapter 14: Seeking Advice and Getting Tricked

After a good night's rest, Silver woke up to find it was almost noon. The guild was as lively as usual.

During the two days he spent accompanying Mira on the mission, Silver had also taken some time to think about his combat abilities.

Since he could materialize weapons and equipment, it was essential for him to learn how to use various weapons.

When it came to weapon expertise, he couldn't help but think of Erza, the person in the guild who was most skilled in this area.

So, after entering the guild, Silver scanned the room and immediately walked over to Erza, who was sitting at a table enjoying a delicious cake.

"Hey, Erza," Silver greeted her as he sat down beside her.

"Hmm?" Erza, her mind still in the world of cake, turned around when she heard her name and realized Silver was sitting next to her.

"What's up?" Erza asked naturally.

"I wanted to ask you about weapon usage. After all, you're the best in the guild when it comes to handling weapons," Silver explained, now getting to the point.

"No problem," Erza responded enthusiastically. Since Silver usually hung out with Mira, it was a pleasant surprise that he had come to her for advice. "Let's start right now."

"Right now?" Silver was taken aback.

"Is there a problem?" Erza asked seriously.

"No, I just meant, you should finish your cake first. What if someone eats it while we're gone?" Silver explained, hinting at the situation.

"Someone eats it? You mean Mira, right?" Erza replied with a knowing look, then said seriously, "It's fine. If she eats it, I can use that opportunity to teach that belly-baring girl a lesson."

"Huh?" Silver was surprised by Erza's response.

He had always thought of her as a serious and upright person, but now he was realizing there was more to her than he thought.

She was quick-tempered and seemed to enjoy teasing Mira.

"Alright, let's get started," Erza said, cutting him off before he could speak further. She grabbed him by the collar and dragged him out of the guild.

"Huh? Was that Erza dragging Silver away? Did he finally escape from Mira and fall into the hands of another violent woman?"

"Poor Silver, just got out of one violent woman's grip, and now he's in another violent woman's hands."

"Yeah, now Erza has added Silver to her collection of 'toys,' joining Natsu and Gray."

"Do you think Mira will challenge Erza to a duel when she finds out?"

"I don't know if Mira will challenge Erza, but I'm sure Silver will be in trouble."

As Silver was being dragged away by Erza, the guild members began laughing and chatting about the situation.

Meanwhile, Silver was dragged by Erza to the forest near the guild, where they began their lessons on various weapon applications.

It was at this point that Silver finally realized that asking Erza to teach him about weapons had been a huge mistake.

They say Mira has a bad temper, but Erza was just as impatient.

She first explained the length, shape, and characteristics of a weapon, then used "Requip Magic" to summon the weapon and demonstrate.

Afterward, she immediately had Silver start practicing combat with it.

As someone with no prior knowledge or experience, Silver often made various mistakes and errors during his training.

Whenever that happened, Erza would immediately smack his head with a punch and shout loudly, "What are you doing? Why did you make such a mistake?"

At these times, Silver found himself speechless. If he tried to explain himself, Erza would just punch him again and yell, "Why didn't you listen to what I said earlier?"

After being beaten down by Erza all afternoon, Silver weakly followed her, his body exhausted, as they returned to the guild.

Silver sat down across from Cana, who was busy laying out tarot cards on the table. Curiously, he asked, "What are you doing?"

"I'm reading the future," Cana replied, arranging three rows of cards on the table, then flipping them over one by one to examine the images on each.

"Reading the future? Could you do a reading for me?" Silver asked, suddenly interested.

Before, in his world, Silver wouldn't have believed in things like fortune-telling, but now that he was in a world with magic, he figured why not.

"Sure, but I just learned this recently, so the reading might not be accurate," Cana said happily. She was thrilled because Silver was the first person to ask her for a reading.

She gathered the cards together, shuffled them thoroughly, and then handed the deck to Silver. "Cut the deck."

"Okay." Silver followed her instructions, cutting the deck in half.

Cana took the half he cut, placed it at the bottom, and then began flipping the cards one by one, laying them out into three rows. "Alright, now pick a card from the first row and flip it over."

"First row, got it." Silver, understanding where to pick from, casually selected a card and flipped it over.

A small magic circle appeared beneath the card, and a golden halo shimmered.

When the light faded, a demonic figure appeared on the card.

"A demon. This represents bad luck or something else negative," Cana said, considering the card.

"Really?" Silver thought for a moment about any recent actions that could have brought him bad luck.

After thinking, he couldn't come up with anything. Shaking his head, he asked, "What's next?"

"Next, pick a card from the second row," Cana instructed, pointing to the range.

"Okay." Silver casually picked a card from the second row and flipped it over. After the golden glow faded, it revealed an image of knight training.

"What does this mean?" Silver asked, confused.

"I'm not sure. Choose a card from the third row and flip it over," Cana said, equally puzzled.

The knight represented qualities like honor and justice, but combined with the demon from the first card, its meaning was unclear.

"Alright." Silver nodded and picked a card from the third row. As the glow dissipated, it revealed a scene of a battle lost in despair.

"This... you might face a difficult situation and fight hard against it, but ultimately fail. I guess that's what it means? I'm not completely sure," Cana explained, looking at the three cards.

"Maybe," Silver agreed with a nod.

Normally, this would be the best interpretation of the cards.

However, neither of them knew that this reading was actually completely wrong...
