I squeeze my body tighter while shaping myself as a ball on the bed. But the knocking persists even after twenty seconds… but hey, I was persisting quite well on the ignorance.
"Spythun, please. I can't sleep in the hall," Hailo says.
"Then I will. But we are NOT doing this! Not after what happened," I say, hoping for her to hear.
"Well… a lot happened okay. I don't understand which part you mean."
"The entirety," I mumble in annoyance and embarrassment.
"It's just that time of the month. We have done this for almost the entirety of the fourteen years. Please. It's… such a connecting time with you, my dear friend."
"Cannonballs can't be fooled!" I declare while cringing at my own childish tone.
"Well, the cannonball was the one who suggested this… and said it'll be okay."
"Well, I also said that when it is not okay: we will stop. And we… the past months weren't okay!"
"It was just the heat. And we are still just friends. The best of friends, remember? We just… cleared up some air."
"Ten! Times! And I was fooled with this a few times, for the record."
"Hey… you started with the experiment, okay? I just… continued it a few times," she says in a kind of whisper.
"Cannonballs don't have sex!" I say in a loud whisper.
"Cannonballs may wake people up and give them the wrong idea!"
"Wrong idea," I scoff.
"Oh don't be a… all of this honestly is your fault."
I jerk up the bed and rush to open the door. "My fault?"
Hailo just replies by flushing her face into the pillow she is holding.
"Don't be like that," I sigh.
"Like what?"
"Blaming me without blaming me. It's not my fault this happened."
"We talked about it. We did it. You started with the talking. I may have started with the doing."
"Just get in already."
"Say the words."
"No."
"Then I ain't getting in."
"Good," I say and move the door to close it… obviously she puts her hand to it, barely with any strength but stopping it… stopping me.
"I love you," Hailo says.
"No you don't."
"But I do."
"Okay."
Hailo just freezes and looks at me for a while. "I'm lonely."
"No."
"Yes I am."
"No. I mean… we are not doing this."
"Yet," Hailo shrugs and steps forward… making me walk backwards.
"This is wrong! We… we are friends. And we…" I try hard to say something but my mind numbs with all that had happened, and my… desires.
"We just are going with it. Maybe it was meant to happen…"
"The prophecy said we'd fuck?"
"Hey… it's just… we don't have to be lonely anymore. Maybe that is why the universe made this happen."
"The universe has a dirty mind. And so do you."
"Spythun… with all due respect, you are the one who made me so, ok? And I'm not blaming you either. But don't be a baby. We are… in our twenties. We lived our lives in fear, in our teenage," Hailo says, and turns around to close the door.
"Things happened."
"And now we can do something about what's happening. With Rahambose. And I also want to live what I missed. Don't you-?" she asks, and turns, only to find my face in front of hers and stop.
"It's unfair," I say into her eyes.
"Yes… our lives being taken from us was unfair."
"Not that… but how you get your way. Always. I don't… get to."
"You want to… try something new this time?" Hailo asks, as I feel her heartrate spike.
"This is so wrong, Hailo. What if… this is wrong? What if… I'm just using you?"
"What is normal? I'm not sure, Spy… but I don't think any of this is one sided. We both… have our wishes. Can't we just… loosen up, once a month?"
"I get it but… what if I hurt you? Or…" I say, feeling a little selfish. "I'm scared to get hurt, Hailo. You must know."
"Then I'll heal us."
"I love you," I finally say.
"Show me how."
I hold the sides of her head, and start kissing her lips. She holds my waist and pushes me by a bit. I push her to the door and kiss her there. She puts one of her hand to my neck, grazing it with the tip of her fingers. Another moves above my pant's pocket, I hadn't gotten a chance to change.
"Not this way, Hailo," I say, lifting both her hands up to their limit, and still kissing her.
"Spy…" Hailo moans. "Are you… will you…"
"Not today…" I say. "Or maybe later, if we can keep going."
"But it is tiresome…" Hailo says, with an embarrassed look. "And… loud."
"You know that is why I like it. But… I have others plans. You might… like this."
"When you say that-" Hailo stops as I continue to her neck.
Then I play around her shirt to open it, but end up playing through her shirt… but I slide lower.
"Are you serious?" Hailo asks, almost screaming.
"I… will say something… weird. Dessert time."
"Don't make it more embarrassing, dude."
"You want me to stop?" I ask, pushing down her pants, without undoing them… she had come prepared in such ones. "That's what I thought."
As I start… eating her, she gasps and moans as if it is hurting her… in an attempt to stop her actual sounds which she makes. But as I pace up, and she loses herself, she puts her leg to my shoulder, and her hand upon my head.
"We are at the door, what if we wake someone?"
"Then we won't have to hide it…" I say, and stop. "Are you scared Wyrom will find out?"
"Not that he'd care," Hailo says, with disappointment.
"Same goes for Drego," I say. "Well, we might need the strength in your legs for later, so… let me try this."
"Spythun what are you-"
I lift her up in this position, and get surprised at myself that I'm able to.
"Wow, who knew?"
"Spythun… don't test these out on me."
"Don't you like some of these?" I ask, teasing her a bit.
"But not this way," Hailo blushes.
I put her to the bed and she sings her melody to me, as I eat understanding the quality of rhythm necessary to savour the food. With her melody I understand how to properly move my mouth when eating, she made it too clear.
"Spythun," Hailo gasps, trying to close her mouth.
As she shivers, I put my finger where my mouth was and let it dance with her.
"Oh no… oh my god… that was…" Hailo tries to calculate her words, while looking at me and herself. "Do you have wipes?"
"Table next to you. Pass me some."
I clean her up and throw the wipes out the window.
"You had planned this?" Hailo asks, glaring at me, while also feeling a little embarrassed.
"I felt so ticklish you know."
"Don't you dare."
"Just joking around."
"Well, open up your pants, mister. My turn."
"You really… would?"
"Don't make it embarrassing by asking," Hailo announces while getting closer.
And I get it now. The melodies. I'm not sure if I could sing as good as her, or maybe I was too embarrassed to. But I feel the heat in my face, and stroke her head in acceptance: trying to stay a little more sane.
I see a grin on her face, as she slows down when I get close.
"Hailo," I plead and complain at the same time.
"Relax… can't get over with soon. You took your time with me. I won't give you an early one."
Her hands' soft touch feel like they could wake the forest at night, and make the flowers bloom with delight. The fruits that the trees would bear would be as plump as her lips, as soft as her tongue, and nourishing as her.
In a bliss I find myself hearing the birds chirp in her presence, as I hear a loud blast resound out as I moan towards the end of my bliss.
"That wasn't me… right?" I ask, feeling confused and looking towards Hailo: who hides her face.
"You wish," Hailo says, grabbing the wipes. "I'm pretty sure that it was Drego… and Wyrom."
"No way, that sounded weird in no way."
"We need to go, they might be fighting."
"Hello… I… you know," I say and she passes me some wipes.
As we throw these set of wipes out too; a knock resounds through the door.
Hailo looks at me and I give her a 'how'd I know?' look, to which she just nods. Adjusting our clothes and form, we move towards the door, with Hailo leading us.
"She's hurt pretty bad," Wyrom says, as the door opens.
Wyrom holds out Drego in his hands, showing her to us. Drego was collapsed surely, but Wyrom was bleeding like her, and completely torn, must be Whiplash. Tiny form, cracked skin, lifeless looking… yet steadily holding Drego.
"You look worse," I say, and Hailo holds out her palm from behind her, where only I could see.
As I feel the urge to go get Skyto, he shows up alongside Line and Tyle, just behind Wyrom.
Hailo takes Drego to the bed, still with Wyrom's help, as I and Skyto exchange glances while pointing towards Wyrom. After Wyrom places Drego to the bed, he falls, urging me and Skyto to hold him from behind.
"Let's get you stitched up," Skyto says as a command.
"Would it be okay to do it right here? On the ground?" Wyrom asks while visibly dizzy.
We slowly place him to the ground, and I use a makeshift knife to cut open his shirt and reveal his bigger wounds on his perfect body.
Skyto waves his hands through his elbows, in the air, and I feel the air getting colder. Wyrom even shivers a bit, but this wasn't the tough part awaiting him. As I see his form normalizing enough, I put my finger to a spot I had pondered to choose. Moving zigzag according to the wounded lines, I cauterize his cuts with light threaded zaps.
"Spyrhun," Wyrom holds my hand and presses it. "Give me hell."
"Spythun, use my ability, you idiot," Hailo grits her teeth, while I see her nose bleed from treating Drego's wounds.
I place my hand on Wyrom's head and the cauterization syncs away in a dozen seconds. Then I cauterize more while still with my hand upon his head, but Wyrom groans in pain yet.
"Hailo!" Tyle says, shaking her awake.
"No, I'm good," Hailo smiles.
Looking at Wyrom being okay, I move my jelly-feet to the bed and press both my hands to Drego's head, ever so lightly. Shaking off my fainting.
"Spythun, not the time to show off," Hailo sighs.
"Wyrom's fine. Besides, I have better healing than you suckers," I hiss at the three, and feel Tyle's eyes on me. "You know what I mean, sorry. Let me just help."
"Didn't feel bad, no worries," Wyrom groans, as I spy vines slowly grow upon his wounds and neutralizing them. "Leo! In the woods! He may need a hand, and he may be hurt, though he said he is fine."
Tyle starts running and Line follows him in a heartbeat.
What the fuck did this to them?
#Spythun… the kid who was the most juvenile. Truth being, the only things separating him from losing his mind, was his silly jokes and Hailo… and Leo, and Wyrom, and Drego, and Skyto. He knew deep down that he wasn't special. He knew deep down that he was only the child of Rahambose, possibly the cause of everything. So he knew deep down what responsibilities he held because of that. Not as the powerful, or the leader… but as the one who'd do what is necessary.#
