Prof. Dog's ears stood up. "Ah! Perfect timing, woof! Ms. Butterfly, is Mr. Shark upstairs?"
"He's still at work, but he'll be back soon," Butterfly replied.
The dog professor turned to face us. "It's getting late though. Your families might be looking for you."
"Not to worry! I'll just call Bernie and inform him that we'll be home late." Momo took out her phone.
"I'm living alone, so there's no one waiting for me at home," I replied.
Everyone except Gene was surprised by my answer.
"Your family is from another city?" Cyrus asked as he took his sister's plate of cake without her noticing.
"No, their jobs require them to travel around the world, so they're almost never home."
"That is terrible, woof!" exclaimed Prof. Dog.
"Wow! It must be tough living alone," said Momo as she punched her brother to reclaim her plate of cake.
"I'm used to it though."
