Where's Jake?

There were a few dead werts on the floor at the very top of a building with holes in their bodies which appeared to have gone right through. Black blood was still slowly seeping out of the holes and in a corner, some distance away from the wert corpses, a man stood there.

His eyes which were glowing white a second ago were reverting back to normal and a hood was covering his face while he let the small outline of energy remain around his fist.

'I should be ready just in case another wert decides to attack me.' Veer said as he took off the hood and stared at the battlefield, watching Sky specifically.

Sky was still under the animal that Anna had shapeshifted into to protect them from the lightning and rain falling from above and he was lessening the damage Anna was receiving by stopping the time of the lightning and rain falling on her.

He was also using the magnetic part of his magic to control metals and put them above Anna and other people who were starting to fall to the ground due to not having enough strength to keep withstanding the attacks.

In the air heading towards Maron, the Monarch lifted his sword from his side with one hand and he swung it towards Maron's head but Maron used his forearm to block the sword and another huge cut was made on his hand.

But the Monarch had predicted this so immediately he used his other hand to punch Maron squarely on the head and sent him flying down to the ground.

The attacks from the sky had stopped momentarily before it started again and the Monarch had fallen to meet Maron.

Maron had regained his composure on the ground and was about to fly up again before being dragged from all six of his tails by the Monarch.

The Monarch swung Maron and hit him in the ground before using his sword to cut off four out of his six tails.

The Monarch did not have enough strength to cut off all six in one strike and he was still receiving damage from the lightning and rain so while Maron shouted out in pain, the Monarch gave him a kick on the head which would have sent Maron flying away if the Monarch was not holding onto the remaining two tails.

This time instead of running away, Maron lunged at the Monarch and grappled him to the floor. The Monarch's sword had left his hand when Maron grappled him and Maron's tails had also slipped out of his hands.

Still grappling the Monarch, Maron bit into the left side of the his ribcage and broke one of his ribs.

The Monarch clenched his teeth from the pain and his face was scrunched up but now he had a bit of an advantage because the lightning had stopped striking him due to Maron being in contact with him. The Monarch grabbed Maron by the head and twisted it as hard as he could.

He succeeded in twisting it ninety degrees to the right but that wasn't enough to kill Maron so he lifted Maron from the ground and crashed him right into the ground which made a small crater around them.

The attacks from the sky stopped completely and the Monarch knew Maron was close to taking his last breaths.

Blood was gushing out from the Monarch's left side and a short piece of bone was poking out of his skin while Maron was currently standing in a pool of his own black blood with his head now facing the right direction after he twisted it back to normal.

The wounds from his tails being cut off were still bleeding and the numerous gashes on his body kept bleeding slowly.

But all this did not slow Maron down as he flew towards the Monarch and directed all the lightning at him.

The Monarch was able to continuously avoid the lightning while he released the grey mist from his body once again. Two undead five-tailed werts flew towards Maron and were fighting him, steadily dealing more damage.

Maron punched of the undead werts to the ground which made another crater but the second undead wert was able to cut off Maron's two wings which totally removed his aerial advantage.

The undead wert on the ground flew up and punched Maron on the jaw, delivering an uppercut, while the second one used all its five tails to hit him back down again into the crater that was made previously.

Maron was about to stand up again when the Monarch jumped on his head and gave him a head stomp.

Maron's head went deeper into the ground and black blood spewed in all directions. The Monarch had taken his sword from the ground while he was avoiding the lightning strikes but it the lightning had struck him a couple of times which caused the burn marks all over his body and parts of his flesh could be seen.

After stomping on the head again, the Monarch lifted Maron out of the crater and used his sword to stab right through his head and twist it. Then he dropped Maron's dead body to the floor and released the undead werts. Their bodies fell to the floor and the grey mist went back into the Monarch's body.

Everyone was starting to recover from the previous attacks and they were somewhat glad that they had successfully defended and protected the Thradon district.

The damage done to the district as a whole was minimal due to the werts focusing most of their attention on the world penitentiary which they had totally leveled.

The citizens in the Thradon district were safe. For now. The prisoners who had escaped the world penitentiary were still at large and god knows what would happen if they decide to unleash their anger for being locked up for years.

With the injured soldiers and citizens now being taken to the hospital, the others were given some time off to spend with their families and loved ones after the huge fight they had just been in.

"Guys, where's Jake?" Smith asked, looking in the direction of what was once the world penitentiary.

Sky, Anna, Kevin, Nikki, Sasha, Diane, Kyle and Smith were now moving rubble from the destroyed penitentiary looking for Jake but there were no signs of him.

"Where the hell did he go again?" Sky asked, seemingly frustrated. "Why do we always have to look for him? What's his problem?"

"Yo Sky, chill out man." Kevin said. "We don't know what happened here."

"Don't we though?" Diane asked. "Jake already ran away once and stayed hidden. How sure are we that he didn't just run away again?"

"But why would he do that when he just came back recently?" Nikki asked.

"Because he doesn't want to stay locked up for ten years." Diane said like it was very obvious.

"Do you think the Jake that came back will really run away so he won't be locked up?" Kevin asked. "He'd probably fight the people trying to lock him up or something."

"Anna what do you think?" Smith asked.

"I'm not entirely sure what happened but there's something off about this place." Anna replied. "It's like," she started then took a pause to really grasp what she was sensing, "I can feel magic around here but it's different from the normal magic we all use."

"What do you mean?" Kyle asked.

"I can't quite understand it yet but I don't think whatever happened to Jake was normal." Anna responded. "I mean if he did in fact run away again, it was not through conventional means."
