An Interesting Finding

After she left with aunt Feng for the office of internal affairs, Aurelia burst into laughter. This little girl was really interesting. She smiled before closing her eyes and adjusting her head at the backrest of the chair. She knew aunt Feng and Roma had questions judging from the way they ogled at the whole interaction she had with Rose but that was for later. Right now, she was content with her finding.

Aurelia had long given up the idea of finding another honest maid other than Aunt Feng and Roma. In fact, she had kicked out lots of her maids that had been serving her since childhood, many years ago. Why? Only she knew.

In the upcoming years, neither her courtyard requested new maids nor anyone dared to approach there. A few times, her aunt tried to put a maid cum spy in her courtyard but was directly rejected by the young miss saying she had enough maids and didn't need an idle army in her courtyard.

It was also because her aunt felt insulted over her rejection that she didn't allocate any workers to fix the courtyard building, using her aura as the reason. But who cared about that? It was only aunt Feng who'd fret over the outlook of the courtyard and keep requesting workers when her young miss enjoyed the life of solitude.

But now, aunt Feng could take some rest. Aurelia had finally found someone credible who could take on some responsibilities to lighten Aunt Feng's burden. Smiling, she decided to take a nap while Roma finished preparing dinner and the duo returned from the internal office.

Robert and Leanna

Alpha Robert was immediately shifted to madam Leanna's courtyard who had not stopped cursing the jinxed witch all along. She didn't even care about her image as the Duchess who was supposed to be poised and patient.

"That wench! It's going out of hands now. I can't bear her anymore. Just wait and watch how I make her lick the dirt and beg for mercy."

She then shouted at the servants helping her brother to the bed, "hey, do you want to die? Can't you see that my brother is injured? Hurry up and help him lay down."

Poor servants couldn't shout back at her, "can you not see? That's exactly what we are doing!" So they hurriedly apologized and moved sir Robert to the bed in a comfortable position. Sir Robert waved his hand for his sister to calm down and spoke, "don't worry, I'm alright." He tried to sit up in a comfortable position but ended up coughing badly.

His stomach where the young girl had kicked him was definitely left bruised but it was not something to worry about since he was sure the healing would have started by now. What he was more intrigued about, was the girl's aura that she used to attack him.

"No you're not okay brother. I have sent for the healer, he must be here soon. God knows what sins that jinx's mother had committed to be punished with such a child. What punishment for her though, it's punishment for us who have to bear her thanks to my father-in-law." Leanna was furious since she couldn't directly harm that bundle of curse. If only her aura was not toxic, Leanna would have taught her a valuable lesson.

"Aham.. about the cursed aura.. how toxic is it?" Finding his sister thinking about the girl, Robert found it convenient to ask. He wanted to confirm something and who else could have an answer more reliable than his sister. If it was not her brother, Leanna would have thought that he was making fun of her helplessness. But since he had asked, she told him unwillingly.

"It's deadly harmful. Some people even ended up dying at her hands."

"Was any of the killed people an alpha?"

"No, most of them were betas and a lower tier alpha. Although mid tier and high alphas were seriously injured too, none of them died. They spent a couple of months in bed, healing."

Leanna's attention was divided between the bedridden alpha and the door where she was expecting the healer.

Alpha Robert sank in deep thoughts. It was as he had expected it to be. Although her aura was toxic, it was bearable for a high alpha like him, if approached tactfully. Alpha Robert was one of the twenty most powerful alphas of the empire. So he was sure that even if she could hurt others, it was not the same in his case.

Although he was a little injured, that was because his alpha shield was not active. If he approached her with his alpha aura and shield, she might not be able to cause any harm to him. The reason she was able to hurt him a little was because he was caught off guard. He didn't expect someone to not submit to his alpha aura at all.

His eyes gleamed with a sudden realization. He could not only submit the girl but also have fun with her. Who'd believe that a girl like her was submitted by a person whom she herself had kicked out of her courtyard a few days ago? No one. An evil smirk made its way to his lips. 'Just a few days' rest. Then the fun will begin.'

"Madam, the healer has arrived." A guard came to announce the healer's arrival and received a nod from the duchess before bringing the healer in.
