DAMON 'S POV -
I totally lost it. How the fuck on earth did he even know about the fucking existence of this place. It wasn't even supposed to exist for him and it hadn't for all these years. So, why now?
Something was totally up. It couldn't be that he just stumbled on this place in the middle of the forest. Samarah's soft voice flooded my ears," Perhaps, he just stumbled on this place. By pure luck." I hope so Samarah. I reall want to cling onto this hope more than anything else.
MIRANDA 'S POV -
We had all been gathered in the dining room before Damon's breakfast plate fell from his hand and he hopped off like a mad animal straight to Kendall's room.
Then he revealed something which I refused to believe. After all the vampire king's finding out about this place after all these years could definitely be nothing except for an ominous sign. But how on earth did he know the vampire king of all people was here. It could always be any of his minions.
I looked questioningly at Damon while Samarah quietly whispered," I felt a strange jolt run through me. I had learned that vampire royals asserted their dominance by releasing a kind of pheromone and apparently that's what he did now." But why did he make everyone aware of his dominance willingly. Everything seemed so messed up.
3rd person's POV -
The solitary settlement in the middle of an enormous forest seemed to be the soul aim of the vampire king's visit today. But instead of having an army escort him as always, today he came only with his prime minister and a few close bodyguards.
This matter indeed looked confidential.
The vampire king sat waiting in his vintage chevrolet as he waited on the news of confirmation on whether this place would be the end to his quest of decades.
He sat up straighter as his trusted minister approached and whispered across the window," This seems to be our destination"
"Are you 100 per cent sure?", the nervous king said eagerly, heart thumping loudly." Yes, it indeed is.", the minister remarked.
"Then Damon ought to be here.", eyes glistening, the king's lips tugged up in a smirk as he released his pheromones to announce his arrival centering it only towards his kin.
His son had played since long but now he was here to finish the game. His son had troubled him enough. With that he gracefully trudged towards the largest mansion in the small village.
SAMARAH 'S POV -
My heart thundered in my chest as I heard footsteps approaching the door. Nervously glancing around the room, I saw an anxious Miranda , a shaken up Damon and Ken and a rigid stanced Kendall.
My legs felt like they would give up anytime now as the anticipated footsteps quickened their pace.
I closed my eyes in fear, awaiting the chaos but instead a curt voice broke out," Mr. Damon. Some gentlemen are here to see you.", I guess we could remain out of sight for sometime more.
DAMON 'S POV -
My voice hitched as I answered the vampiric staff," Seat them in the living room. I will be attending to them shortly."
I felt little surprised at the staff's curt tone. He didn't seem panicked on the hit of pheromone, indicating that a royal was here. Hadn't he realised it? Hadn't the others realised it? At least the villagers being in the dark about his presence, the reason why they are forced to live out of sight today, would spare me a lot of questions.
But situation could turn bloody any moment now if he somehow found out about the presence of Kendall here, he would find that Luce Mia is here. Then death was imminent.
I quickly formulated a plan to send Luce Mia and the rest to Kendall's pack for protection. Hopefully, Kendall's mother would be more sympathetic towards us. But it would take at least two days to make all the arrangements. Till then, our necks would be on the noose.
Raising my voice a tad notch, I said strictly," No matter what you do, don't and I repeat don't look . Him. In. The. Eye. And don't think anything about Miranda being Luce Mia. And most importantly, don't get scared."
I heard the heavy door to our room open and a voice boomed," Care to introduce me to your friends son." And just like that our possible cause of death walked in.
