Entrance Ceremony (3)

After wandering around for almost an hour and a half, a sudden announcement appeared on my smartwatch.

[All first-year students, please head into the auditorium on the 4rth floor]

Tired of just walking around I headed straight to the auditorium.

I used my watch to unlock the doors and headed into the room filled with students in blue military uniforms showing that they were first-year students and with many teachers situated all around.

I didn't know anyone so I was just going to sit in a random secluded spot but decided to head to a particular person that would easily take all the attention, making me almost invisible when sitting next to her, Monica.

I sat down next to Monica, and confusion flashed on her face but after a while, she then returned to what she was doing before.

After looking around a bit, I found that the auditorium had multiple floors and higher compartments probably where the guilds scouts and others where watching us from.

I decided to just close my eyes until the start of the ceremony.

Luckily, I didn't have to wait for long, as just 5 minutes after, with a click sound, the lights of the auditorium turned off.

Soon a man with red hair and scarlet eyes appeared surrounded by light, Marcus Embers, the headmaster of the academy.

I expected a great speech or something from such a flamboyant-looking man but he just delivered a typical director of a school speech, that made me feel sleepy.

Soon after he was done, other teachers started to head to the podium.

I tried to maintain my eyes open but it was too hard of a task with the boring speeches that were presented by the teachers.

After feeling someone touching my shoulders I slowly opened my eyes.

Looking around, it would seem like the ceremony was yet to be over.

Soon I felt someone poking my cheeks, it was Monica.

"Are you finally awake?"

"Mhm"

"Hmph, you really are a kid, huh"

"Mhm"

"Well, start paying attention, while everything else was a formality by the school, this is something that you should pay attention to.", She said.

But I already knew what was going to happen, they will announce that they will be measuring our potentials here and soon they would be calling us up to the stage to use an orb to measure our future power.

The orb is called [Future Power], not really original, but it was only ever used during the entrance ceremonies in this academy.

The orb calculates, your future potential stats, talents, martial arts, and skills, to determine how strong you are gonna be in the future, similarly to my ability [Truth Eyes], but better as my skill can only determine the future overall rank.

The orb belongs to the Round Table, and even just renting it could cost you more than 50 billion RP.

The orb uses the same grading system as the ranks, as it will just show a letter or two if you were to receive a SS evaluation.

After looking at everyone present, the headmaster paused his view on Aso and began to speak.

"Today evaluation of potential will be done inside the auditorium, your names will be called and if you fail to come up to the stage you will be expelled, I have great hopes to see how talented our future heroes would become".

He said that but he set it up to be done in the auditorium to be able to show how talented Aso was, to gain a better reputation for his family and regain some of its glory.

After the announcement, the auditorium burst into nervous murmurs and talks amongst the students.

However, before giving them any time to breathe, the first person was announced.

"Lance Coneg, come to the stage"

After almost one hundred people were called and the max rank being B rank amongst all of them, it was quite obvious that many were untalented as most of the ranks that were shown on the orb were D or C.

"Aso Embers, come to the stage", Interrupting my thoughts was the announcement of one of the main characters, the rival.

Soon a kid with red hair and scarlet eyes, tallying almost 2 meters stood up and headed onto the stage with a great sense of confidence, which was normal for someone as narcissistic as him.

And as predicted, the orb showed an S, one of the highest ranks in humanity.

The auditorium soon burst in awe, and many talked amongst themselves, about how a new genius was born, or how it was something to be expected from one of the households, but soon all that praise would disappear.

"Arthur Drajar, come to the stage", and then a man with golden hair, and golden eyes, tallying almost 2 meters and having a great muscular body, stood up and headed onto the stage, as expected of the protagonist, he might even have an A+ in charm with how good looking he was.

While the hall was still in awe at Aso's rank, Arthur then put his hand on the orb, showing for the first time in humanity a SS potential.

After such a demonstration the whole auditorium went silent, but that only lasted a while just 10 seconds later the whole room burst in praises of how a new legendary warrior was born.

Others may not have noticed but Aso was probably raging as the spotlight that his father had created was given to someone else.

The noisy environment continued, with even teachers talking amongst themselves about how such a talented man had appeared, some approached Arthur but they were just ignored, as Arthur was someone that could easily tell others' intentions towards him which was actually one of his skills.

The turmoil continued even with hundreds of students being called to the stage but it soon quieted down at the mention of someone's name.

"Ciel Light, come up to the stage"

Ciel Light, a successor of the house of Light and one of the female leads, she has white hair and blue eyes, and a slender body.

And as mentioned in the book Ciel, got an S rank potential.

The situation was similar to Aso's, and the room became rowdy giving praise to Ciel but not as much as when Arthur got his ranking.

And by the luck of the gods, another female lead was chosen to come up to the stage.

"Noel Sea, come up to the stage"

The room once again went silent in expectation and as a female lead that would be fighting alongside the protagonist, she got an S rank.

Noel was a fan favorite for her tomboyish attitude with her blue hair, emerald eyes, 1.7, and slender yet muscular body. She was one of the people that always dueled against the protagonist and also the one that found the telekinesis book when searching for a demon contractor.

That was it for the main characters, as the other female leads and companions would appear in the later years of the story.

More and more students were called not reaching any more than A rank while most were D rankers, and after almost 1500 students, I was finally called up to the stage.

"Keith Devans, come up to the stage"

After standing up, Monica gave me a thumbs up, and I headed up to the stage.

At this point, every student had a bored look on their faces and were not paying any attention to me but to the main characters.

Even I don't really understand how the orb works but since my potential overall rank is around B, and I do have a talent for telekinesis and being a magician, I should receive an A rank and not stand out as much.

Putting my hand on the orb, the letter that appeared was nothing short of expected, an A-rank grade. After receiving my ranked, I returned to my seat while Monica had a satisfied look on her face.

After almost 6 hours since the start of the ceremony, it finally ended, and now an announcement should be appearing on our watches soon enough relating to our class divisions.

And not even 10 seconds later it appeared.

[You have been assigned to Class S1]

"Ah, you have been assigned to my class, what a coincidence", Monica said.

Nodding, I let out a sigh.

it seems I have to be near the danger-attracting main characters from now on.
