Chapter 14 Official uniform

Sonia asked Kai.

"Is that true? Liona has left?"

Kai replied with a slight nod.

"Yes."

For Sonia who had been in the Adventurer's Guild for a long time. Liona's death was quite surprising, especially since he knew how skilled Liona was all this time.

Kai then sat on a chair and put his right hand on his chin. His face looked blank now staring at the uniform on the table. Kai's eyes blinked a few times, then after that his eyes glanced at Sonia.

The sweet face of a woman with short hair full of question marks, now looks right in Kai's purple eyes.

Next, in a low voice Kai said.

"Did you know? The first time I met that little girl, she was killing a knight. The look in her eyes was without any hesitation, as if she was used to it."

"You mean?"

Hearing that, Kai closed his eyes. Then, after taking a deep breath, he continued.

"That girl has gotten used to it— rather used to killing."

Sonia's eyes started to widen. The voice was short and low, as if it had pierced the senses of hearing to the deepest point.

In Sonia's memories of living in this world, she never thought that there would be someone who would have the heart to exploit a girl so badly. Very immoral and has no empathy at all.

However, that's still not all. As Kai continued, their eyes then met and Sonia could feel a very strong empathy from how her purple eyes were shaking as well.

"Miss Sonia, that little girl has been made into a toy. It's obvious they have the other kids locked up for betting in the arena. They might have the kids kill each other for the sake of gambling. And if the girls grow up, we might be able to guess what they're going to do."

"Please stop," Sonia felt uncomfortable.

Then he grabbed the chair in front of Kai and sat on it. Sonia's hand held her hair, then looked down.

Wrinkles on the forehead and around the face are now formed.

With a tone full of anger, he mumbled.

"They're demons, imperial knights are demons. No, demons aren't even as cruel as them."

Seeing the scene, Kai then leaned back into the chair. His fingers tapped on the table then began to reach for the black uniform and lift it up.

Kai's gaze was full of interest, when he saw the symbols he didn't recognize on the collar and shoulders of the uniform he was holding. Then, He looked at Sonia to ask.

"Organization. Are they a bunch of people with a strange sense of pride? Why is this uniform so conspicuous? If they want to carry out a secret mission, a uniform suitable for camouflage should be a good choice."

"That's probably the uniform that was given to you is the uniform of death," Sonia replied without moving her posture in the slightest.

Sonia's mouth spoke again as she continued to stare downwards.

"Whoever the Organization's members are who wears that special uniform, that means their target must die without exception. Or at least, the Organization believes that their target will surely be killed by that member."

Hearing that, Kai then put the uniform on the table then clenched his fists.

Next, Kai's gaze drew closer to the hand for then he said.

"Speaking of the Organization, what are you going to do with that little girl?"

"The little girl will be sent to an orphanage, along with the children we rescued. It is the policy of the Organization, there is even a division specially formed to take care of them. The Organization is a group of good people who work for humanity and change the world. by eradicating evil. That's all I know."

Hearing the words filled with confidence under the face that looks desperate, makes Kai behave strangely.

"—Ohh. I see. So you justices, what a noble cause."

"Yes, of course. All members of the organization work for the same goal of justice."

Kai smiled sweetly. His smile grew wider, until it almost looked scary, but then he stopped and put on a friendly expression.

An expression of someone where he could show a kind of sincerity.

For Sonia moving for the sake of humanity is not something easy. It is understandable how the Organization always moves in the shadows, selflessly and unsung.

The high pay may be the main factor for Sonia, but the organization's sincerity to help the weak has touched the hearts of many.

In fact, Sonia firmly believed, many members of the organization joined not for money but purely out of a sense of justice.

For example, education within the Organization does not consider any social status. Whether rich merchants, poor farmers, or nobles, all are equal to get the light of science. If all that kindness wasn't enough to move someone's heart, then what else? At least those who claim to be human will be touched by kindness without asking for anything in return.

And For those who serve the Organization mostly move with sincerity. Sacrificing one's life for the sake of the organization wouldn't be the slightest kind of doubt.
