Pilot

Zeus started at the horizon. He sighed as the sun set turning the deep blue sea into a screen of an orange reflection of the sun. It reminded him of his comrade Apollo. If he were there he'd lecture him about the necessities of life as a diety mainly focusing on the sun. Zeus smiled at the thought of that. Would it be his last time staring at this beautiful horizon? What would replace such a beautiful sight? His train of thought was broken by the sound of shouting in the distance. He saw his brother's army march toward his Citadel. "The time has come" he mutters as he puts on his helmet and goes back inside. He finds his wife Hera and brother Poseidon in his throne room both deep in thought. His brother raises his head upon his entry. " I assume his dead army has arrived?" Poseidon asks. Zeus merely nods and parks himself upon his throne. He was sorry, sorry for crossing his brother and even more sorry for the countless lives that will be lost in the war." It's only a matter of minutes till he arrives. Alert the other gods," Zeus says. Like the loyal wife she is, Hera scurries away off to do the task. Poseidon feels the air around him get hot. He looks at his brother who has held out his hand. His signiture lightning bolt forms in his hand. The golden aura it emits bewilderes Poseidon as it always does. "I have no other choice Zeus. I must end him. His control over the underworld has stretched far enough" Zeus says. Poseidon realizes the anger of the powerful diety. He couldn't convince his brother otherwise...Hades life had to be put to an end. "I'm with you," Poseidon says.

Later, Zeus watched as his comrades struggle against Hades' army. He regretted involving them. His eyes had seen blood before. The blood of Mortal and Myth alike but this time, it's mere sight made him sick to his stomach. He felt a cold grip on his shoulder. "This could end brother. All of it could go away" Hades says. He pushes the familiar trident in Zeus back. Zeus winces in pain. "Be reasonable Hades. Let's strike a deal" Zeus pleads. Hades smiles under his mask. For the first time, he sees the fear in Zeus eyes... No this is the second time. This time Zeus fears his brother. Hades is proud of that. He's proud of everything he's done so far. "A deal brought us to this predicament in the first place. What makes you think another unfair agreement will end it?" Hades asks with pure anger in his voice. Zeus doesn't sense it though. He only feels pain. "I enjoy the poetry of the mortals. One for them says 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger'. Zeus, time and again I have given you chances to collaborate with me so we can be stronger together but each time you fail in that endeavor. I think it's time to exterminate the problem here. No need for last words. Your words suit the dead, "Hades says as he prepares to skewer his brother. Zeus closes his eyes prepared to meet his end... Nothing. He opens his eyes and turns around to see his brother. Hades staggers around the room gripping his head. He screams in pain to the point where his army hears his cries. Eventually he stops and stares at his brother. "Zeus..." Hades begins. He looks at the Citadel with concern. "A mortal has killed a god" he completes in terror.
