'Where am I?' Silver thought as he looked around, all around him were trees, trees too tall to see out of; even looking up, the sky could barely be seen.

'Was I kidnapped?' This thought crossed his mind, but he soon denied it.

'No, that would wouldn't make any sense. I'm a nobody with some powerful connections; there would be no point in kidnapping me, plus I remember shooting myself in my head, so there's no way I'm still alive....' Just as Silver was thinking this, he heard a noise in his head.

[Would You Like To Connect To The System?] A robotic voice sounded in Silvers head, alerting him.

'Who is it?!' As he thought about this, a screen appeared in front of his face.

The screen was floating in the air; it had a black background with white writing on it.

The words on the screen were the same words that Silver heard in his head.

'This...could it be?' Seeing the screen in front of his face, and looking recalling that it was called a system, Silver had a thought.

On Earth he read many fictional stories, and in a lot of them there was a powerful thing called a system which would allow the main character to grow stronger than any other being; of course the systems were all different and sometimes they were horribly pathetic.

But Silver didn't care about that; he just wanted to know if it was real, so he pinched his arm.

'I can feel pain so this must be real...' While he thought this, the robotic voice sounded in his head again.

'Should I say yes? I don't know where I am and rejecting it might lead to me dying..... again.' Thinking this, Silver decided to say yes, and connect to the system.

Once he did the screen in front of him changed.

Looking at the screen in front of him, Silvers eyes widened.

'A status?! So I was right....this is a system from those novels I read.'

'My age? 11? 34? That's correct I was 34 when I 'died' but why am I now 11? Did I also gain a new body?' Seeing his age on the system Silver lifted his hands to his face, and was shocked.

His previous hands were very rough and had a lot of scars on them. but now his hands were soft, delicate, and looked like a child's, they were flawless and seemed like they hadn't touched anything and his skin tone was also now lighter.

Seeing this, he looked down at the rest of his body.

He couldn't see his face due to there being no mirror or water, but he could see his chest, hands and legs.

He was now much shorter than before; his legs were also very flawless; his chest had some abs unlike before, and had zero scars.

In his past life, due to some fights, he had a big scar going across his stomach; his wrist and arm also had a lot of injuries.

'I see.....I am no longer in my own body.' Knowing he wasn't in his own body didn't bother him, for him being alive was already enough, if it meant he had to take over someone else's body, then so be it.

Accepting that he was no longer in his own body, Silver looked at the system once more.

'Demon slayer? Isn't that an anime I watched? I didn't watch a lot of it due to me not having enough free time but I remember it clearly.' In his past life, before he killed all of the people who betrayed him he spent some time in an apartment, watching anime and drinking beer.

Even though he only watched a little bit of the anime, he still remembered it very well.

'Well, I'm in a new body, with a magical system so being in a fictional world isn't that surprising.'

'Health I? This is just like a game, strength, speed, stamina, endurance and agility. But my stats are quite low....if (I) is the lowest and SSS+ is the highest then I'm more than just weak....' Thinking this Silver felt a little disappointed, after all being weak isn't good for anyone especially in a world filled with demons.

But when he was about to shake his head and motivate himself, the screen changed again.

Reading through the quests Silver was still disappointed but when he saw the rewards, a smile appeared on Silvers face.

At first he thought he would have to stay weak, but now? He can become stronger, and with this system; he can probably become THE strongest.

Smiling Silver closed his eyes and just thought back to his past life, were he was always powerless.

He was imprisoned for a crime he never committed, but even if he did commit it, with enough power, he could easily win the case.

With enough power you can do anything.

When he was forced to sit in a cell for hours, alone, daily, for years, he began to hate how powerless he was.

So now, given a chance to become strong, he will take it, even if he has to do horrible things, because he never wants to be that powerless again.
