“What is it, D?”
Darwin wanted to shake his head, but he changed his mind immediately. “I think there was somebody outside the main gate, but it might have been my imagination.”
Endymion was quiet for a few seconds. “Let me check the electric switch box. It’s right next to the front door.”
“Outside?” Kellan asked.
“Nope. It’s inside the house. I’ll be right back.”
Darwin heaved out a huge sigh of relief when the lights came on after what felt like an eternity. Endymion returned to the dining room mere seconds later. Darwin tugged Endymion closer to him with one hand while wrapping the other one around Kellan’s waist.
“Does this happen often?”
“Not at all. Maybe once in a blue moon,” Endymion replied before gesturing toward the direction of the front door. “I peeked outside earlier. There’s nothing beyond the main gate. Well, except for the road outside and the rainwater.”
