“Dude, what the fuck?”
Kellan tightened his hold on Darwin’s shirt, and his partner immediately stopped struggling to break free when the man noticed Endymion’s eyes, which were gazing straight ahead. Endymion didn’t blink. Not even once. Kellan put his right index finger against his lips and shook his head at Darwin. He was certain Endymion must be staring at the same thing he did. He leaned in closer to Darwin’s ear.
“There’s a body hanging by the neck on the ceiling about seven feet away from us.”
Darwin gasped under his breath. “That’s not funny.”
Kellan glared at Darwin while whispering furiously, “Look at my face. Am I laughing?”
Darwin gaped for a second or two before heaving out a soft sigh. “Shit. I can’t see it. You know that.”
“I do. That’s why I had to tug you backward before you accidentally walked into it.”
Darwin’s hands trembled a little. “Our cases seem to get creepier with each passing day.”
