Rockwind Beast

Lorraine mimicked Qian Xu's shot, forcing the Rockwind beast back. As the storm approached, the Rockwind Beast became more and more impatient. Seeing Qian Xu was about to finish sealing the hole, the Rockwind Beast suddenly slammed its head against the stone wall. Lorraine shot series of bullets, it was covered in blood but did not stop.

The storm had started to pour crushed stone in. Qian Xu pulled Lorraine away with one hand, and stuffed the entire expedition bag into the remaining gap. Lorraine hurriedly sprayed multifunctional material then the bag and the stone wall gradually merged together.

The Rockwind beast still hit the stone wall, again and again. Qian Xu strengthening the stone wall with multifunctional material spray, "Lean back on the stone wall, crouch down in the innermost part of the cave, keep the backpack in front of you, and cover your head."

Lorraine asked: "What about you?"

Qian Xu said calmly: "I am a mutant. You take good care of yourself, don't let me worry is already a help."

Lorraine did what she was told, her heart startling and gallbladder trembling. It felt very long. In fact, it only took not more than ten minutes.

Lorraine couldn't wait and impatiently ran over. "Did the Rockwind beast dead?"

"Um, its body is blocking the cave entrance. The cave has another layer of barrier. It should be very safe."

"Your face!" Lorraine lost her voice. There were thin blood stains on his unprotected cheeks and chin.

Qian Xu took off his goggles and said nonchalantly: "You have never been on the battlefield. This is really not an injury."

Lorraine asked distressed: "Does it hurt?"

"Not hurt."

Lorraine took out her own cleaning utensil: "If you don't mind then use mine"

"I don't mind."

Lorraine helped Qian Xu cleaned sand on his face and sprayed it with disinfectant and healing medicine.

She said with lingering fear: "What a terrible storm! The Rockwind beast can survive in such environment. No wonder humans try to integrate genes of these powerful species."

Qian Xu took a can of concentrated nutrient and handed it to Lorraine: "Replenishing your energy then sleep for a while. Tomorrow will start hunting the Rockwind beast for real."

"Okay."

A quiet and safe night.

After breakfast, Qian Xu opened the entrance. The gravel and sand had completely covered the Rockwind beast's body. It took a while for them to sweep out the passage.

Qian Xu said, "We took this cave as a base and hunt nearby. No matter what happens, we must come back before the storm."

Lorraine hid behind the rocks and peeped at the beast that was eating in the distance.

Qian Xu asked, "Are you ready?"

"Ready!"

Lorraine went straight towards the Rockwind beast, but maybe because it had just had a full meal, it had no interest in her.

Lorraine continued to move forward. The Rockwind beast felt offended and jumped to her, intended to kill. Lorraine hurriedly evaded to the side. The Rockwind beast spread its nearly two-meter-long fleshy wings and slapped Lorraine fiercely. She immediately rushed to the other side.

The huge wings encircled her, preventing Lorraine to escape on both sides, almost forcing her into its own mouth.

Lorraine had nowhere to hide, so she could only tip her toes and rose from the ground, then fled towards higher place. The results of many years of hard training in the gravity room finally manifested at this moment.

The Rockwind beast continued attacking her and Lorraine kept dodging. It slapped another claw. Lorraine held sharp and thin six-edge dagger in both hands and pierced its paw.

"Grrrr"

Lorraine was thrown out like a broken kite and fell on a huge rock and vomited blood, feeling like all the bone in her body was falling apart.

The Rockwind beast tried to get rid of the six edge metal out of its paw but it pierced deeper. Lorraine rushed forward and attacked its left fleshy wing

"Grrrr"

It angrily smashed the rock into pieces. Lorraine struggling to dodge and aimed to attack its wing but was thrown away and hit a rock again. Her expedition suit was pierced in many holes from bone spurs on the Rockwind beast's wing. She looked bloodied all over and one of her hand was dislocated.

Lorraine took the dislocated bone back with a cracking sound and picked up the dagger.

The Rockwind beast's left front paw and left wing were both injured. It seemed to understand that this small and weak-looking person in front of it was actually a difficult person to deal with.

A beast couldn't think, but it used it instinct. It could kill Lorraine, but its most terrifying enemy was the Rock Forest.

After a while, the Rockwind beast began to slowly retreat, seemed to indicate: I won't fight anymore! Anyway, I had just eaten enough. There's no point to win.

Lorraine got caught. What should I do?

Qian Xu's voice came: "Let it go!"

Lorraine also took a few steps back slowly.

The Rockwind beast saw that she had no intention of chasing so it spread its wings and leaped up. Glided from one stone to another and disappeared into the rocky forest

Lorraine sat on the ground exhausted. Qian Xu squatted beside Lorraine and helped Lorraine dealt with her wound.

Lorraine asked in dispirited: "Failed?"
