"So, here we are again, dancing," Emma said, flashing a dazzling smile that made James smile in return.
"A reminder of our ZALE days, isn't it?" James asked, reminiscing the times the day they danced together for the first time. The first day they'd met. The day everything started, the day he started to fall in love with her.
He remembered it specifically, how he felt when he first met her, to how he reacted when both he and Emma found Lily unconscious and drugged in the library.
It was safe to say that it wasn't love at first sight, although he sensed something in her was different than any other girl he'd met before.
Emma chuckled, "Indeed, it does."
James looked lovingly in Emma's eyes.
"Em, I want to ask you a question," James requested.
Still swaying to the rhythm, Emma answered, her curiosity piqued.
"Shoot."
"Do you want to know when I fell for you?" James asked.
Emma nodded.
