They left the house with a big smile adorning their bright faces. Virginia got in her carriage, and the lady and her son boarded theirs.
As the carriages moved one after the other, heading for their destination, Virginia became increasingly anxious about the outcome of the events. Her heart was pounding, and she squeezed her blurred mind to find the right words to tell Emily that Robert was found.
They arrived home before Virginia could decide what to say to Emily. They got out of the carriages and proceeded to the house entrance. The door opened before they could knock on it, and they saw a smiling Emma welcoming them.
"Emma," Virginia looked at her, "please go to the guests in the big living room and offer them tea or whatever else they want. I will go to Emily's room. They know," she said meaningfully, and Emma's eyes sparkled. She immediately understood, and her smile became even wider, politely telling the two guests to follow her.
