A combat fight

Her accent...

It troubled him. She had the same accent as his. All his life he had heard no one speak his accent except for his late mother.

“You are bleeding. Haven't you learned to bandage yourself until now?”

She is a doctor. Not another doctor. Doctors recently were people he did not want around.

“Why do you care? If you are a doctor wanting to pick your nose where it doesn't belong. Stay away from me,” he shouted as he turned around and tried to press the exit button to let her off.

But she pulled him back before he could do anything. He turned around and held her by the neck, suffocating her as he pushed her to the wall of the elevator.

“ARE YOU HERE TO KILL ME? DID SOMEONE SEND YOU HERE TO KILL ME? WHO SENT YOU AND WHAT DOES WHOEVER SENT YOU WANT FROM ME?” He yelled violently.

Then….

The force she used to pull him back said otherwise to his thoughts.

She was not any woman.

This woman was from his mafia world. She held his two arms on her neck with just one hand and untangled them with ease. Making his mouth frozen open with the power, she extruded.

In a split second, she had turned up to him, pinning him back to the wall the same way he had just done with her, and she smiled.

Making his blood boil. For the first time after his father. Someone in a combat fight scared him.

For the first time in forever, fear was written on his face.

Who was this woman and how did she possess these skills and techniques to wield the amount of power? The question barged him.

In all his life. He had met no one who challenged him so easily, as much as this woman. She posed a big threat to him.

If anyone knew of the power she possessed, they would have found an effortless way to kill him.

Because with guns, they were wasting their time.

He was horrified, but he would not let it show.

He knew showing weakness would mean the end before he could do anything. “Aren't you going to give me a chance to hear me out before you make all those conclusions in your head?”

“I would rather not. If I don't trust you, listening to you is a waste of my time.”

“I thought you wanted to know who sent me?”

“Stop beating around the bush. I have no time for this.”

“I knew your mother.” She spoke the words that made him freeze as he stood still in her grasp.

“My mother…. My mother died when I was twelve years old. That was ten years ago, and I didn't care to know much about her acquaintances.

“Because they were never there when she needed them the most. So do not think you can use that against me.

“I don't know how that makes me a threat to you to snick up on me and try to harm me. WHO THE HELL ARE YOU AND WHO SENT YOU?” He shouted again, this time with anger from defeat at having no power over her.

“You can't fight me, so stop and stay calm. Let's talk like civilized people.”

“You snuck up on me and threatened me, and you want me to talk to you like a civilized person?”

“Listen, I am not your enemy here.”

Luciano had gained a name and enemies by standing beside his Uncle Don Mauro, his father's stepbrother, and becoming his partner in Don Mauro's evil acts.

Before the escape plan five years ago which got his father killed. Luciano had wanted nothing to do with the Mafia world since he was a kid.

Five years ago when Luciano was seventeen years old, almost getting to eighteen years old. He tried to escape from the Mafia world to fulfill his mother's last dying wish.

But snipers showed up out of nowhere and tried to kill him just like how he had witnessed five years prior when they shot his mother dead.

Luciano had to put a stop to all that. His urge for revenge made him partner up with his uncle.

His uncle was of help to him in identifying all the people responsible for an attack on him.

True to his plan, Luciano had single-handedly declared war, took out all the rival world's strongest cartels, and won.

Which gained Luciano the reputation of 'the bullet'.

And today Luciano had more enemies than friends he could ever hope to make in his entire lifetime.

Anywhere outside Casablanca, snipers wandered around to kill him.

Like the ones that got him earlier and wounded him.

Trust wasn't something that he offered easily to anyone.

In the entire world, he only loved and trusted two people. His Zia and James. His nana and her son. They had known him for all his life. They knew him for what he was.

They were never bothered by what the surrounding people portrayed him. They stayed by his side for all his life, and he treasured them the most.

In showing that she meant no harm and that she needed him to trust her. She pulled down her hands and Luciano breathed in hard before asking her again.

“Then who are you and who sent you?” Luciano turned his face onto the woman in front of him, who had now let him off, removing her hand from his neck and raising the hands in the air as a sign of peace as she stood still in front of him.

“I promise you I have nothing to do with your uncle. Nor all those people wanting to kill you.” Luciano stared coldly at the woman with his jaw tight and she met his gaze.

“By this, I take it you do not trust anyone. And you don't think anybody is not harmful to you.”

“You expect me to trust you blindly, just like that? Because you said you knew my mother?”

“I would like you to believe what I am telling you is true. Do you think at this point I wouldn't have killed you if I were here to kill you?

“You are no match for me. Even if you were not in this state.” Luciano looked away, his jaw tight.

“Now listen…” The woman trembled to look directly into Luciano's eyes. She held so much regret with tears threatening to come out of her eyes. It worried Luciano.

Her acting skills were top-notch.

Her ability to change her expression and get into different emotions easily was beyond a performance. It was almost real.

Her voice broke down when she started speaking again.

“I am your mother's beta. A second in command to the Alpha of our pack, what you would have called a bodyguard in this human world. I came here to take you home.”
