The universe is nothing if not blunt.
Brody took us off guard with his declaration of the name, and I didn't have an answer for him. Yet, he knew I was hiding something from him. I wonder if it was instinct or if he understood more than he'd let on. I didn't know how to tell him without sharing too much. Did I tell him everything and hope he didn't freak out?
"I'm guessing that means something," He muttered, never looking away from me. Seeing a werewolf looking me in the eyes was both refreshing and eerie. Most only did it for a second or two before averting their gaze. The only ones who didn't were my friends or those of high rank.
"It's a long story," I began, glancing at Trevor, who was hiding his disapproval. He didn't think I should say anything, but how could I lie flat-out to him? "But I'm not sure I can tell you…"
