Ariel kissed Marcus as he headed off to work. She then cleared the breakfast dishes but left them in the sink for Miss Flora and then brought down her two empty suitcases.
William and Miss Flora soon came in and William introduced the housekeeper to her.
"It's nice to meet you." Ariel said.
The woman nodded but Ariel got the feeling the woman did not like her very much.
"I cleaned up last night dishes but left the breakfast ones for you." Ariel said.
"Humph" was the only sound the housekeeper said.
Soon Mat knocked and came in. He was dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt. "Ready?"
"Yes, I want to take my suit cases back to fill them up again."
"I'll take them. I brought my truck to make it easier and already stopped and got some boxes. If we need more I can make a run." He said carrying the cases out.
Ariel turned to William. "I'll only be gone a few hours. Have a nice day."
"Yes Ma'am." He smiled at her.
"Tell Miss Flora not to worry about dinner. I am making Marcus my famous ribs with potato salad."
"I will."
Ariel climbed into the truck and headed to her apartment. It took only three hours to pack, clean, and load everything. She had Mat go through a drive through and get hamburger and fries for lunch before heading home to unpack. 'Home' It sounded like a magical word now that she was living with someone.
As they carried the first set of boxes in Ariel stopped and took a deep breath. She was smelling food cooking.
She placed her box down and went to the kitchen. There Miss Flora was busy cooking.
"Did Mr. William not tell you that I was cooking dinner tonight?"
Miss Flora just turned her head as if she did not hear.
"Miss Flora I am talking to you." Ariel got louder. Then noticed her package of meat was in the trash.
"Mr. William were are you?" Ariel said walking out of the kitchen. She searched and found him in the back garden talking to who Ariel assumed was the gardener.
"Mr. William?" She said interrupting him.
"Yes, Ma'am? How can I help you?" He smiled.
"Did you tell Miss Flora not to make dinner?"
"Yes Ma'am I did. Is there a problem."
"She is in there cooking. My meat I got last night was in the trash unopened."
"I'll take care of this. I am sorry."
By the time Ariel got back into the house. Mat had unloaded all the boxes into the main hall. Miss Flora was yelling at him to take all those things to the dump because they were not staying in this house.
William cleared his voice and both looked over at him. Matt looked at Ariel as if to apologize.
"I think there has been a misunderstanding. Flora, Miss Ariel will be living here from now on. These are her things. I thought I told you that dinner would not be required tonight that Master Marcus wanted Miss Ariel to start cooking for him. So why are you making such a fuss?"
"I work for Marcus, not some gold digger. I will not clean up after anyone else and those things will not come into this house. I already threw out all of the tacky cloths she brought in. When he asked me to clean out half of the closet I thought he was bringing home a girl with some class." She then made a guff sound. "Ribs and potato salad, Marcus is use to a higher class of food. Things like that will not be cooked in my kitchen."
"Fine I don't need this from the staff too. Matt load my things back up. Where are my cloths?"
"Miss?" Matt just looked at her.
"In the garbage where they belong." Flora yelled.
"Please just load my stuff back up." Ariel started to cry, she just could not take it anymore.
Matt picked up the boxes and headed back out the door but as soon as he was out of site he call his boss.
"Did you get her all moved?" Marcus asked.
"No, I am loading her things back in the truck."
"What do you mean back in the truck?" Marcus said puzzled.
Matt took a deep breath and told him what was going on. As he was explaining Ariel came out with some boxes.
"Mom I'll be done soon. Head home when you can." He then hung up the phone. "I'm sorry Ariel, maybe you should call the boss."
"His family thinks the same thing. I am not good enough for him. They called me a gold digger too and got me fired from my job. I think I know this is a mistake."
"I don't think so. Boss has been very happy since he met you. The only time I ever seen him smile like he does is with you and when he is with the ones he calls his brother. This will crush him." He walked over to her and gave her a hug and she leaned her head on his sholder.
"She even destroyed the expensive mermaid dress he got me. I looked up the designer. One of his dress goes for no less the 10,000. I think that one was more expensive then that. I could never afford to buy something like that. How do I fit in his world?"
"You fit because he loves you. Nothing matters when you hold the one you love in your arms."
Ariel looked up at the tall boy and smiled, "How did you get so smart?"
"My Nana. 'You catch more flies with honey then vinegar.' 'A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.' and my favorite one 'There are no rainbows with out a little rain.'"
"My grandmother use to say those too. I miss her." Ariel said leaning on the truck. "Ok lets take these back in. Do you think he will be upset if I fire Miss Flora?"
"He said this is your house and I was to do as you asked." Matt smiled as he pick up the box and followed her back in.
William was on the phone when they walked back in. Ariel asked Matt to take the box he had into her bedroom and she sat the one she was carrying in the living room.
She then went over and waited for him to get off the phone.
"You've decided to stay ma'am?" He asked placing the phone in his pocket.
She smiled, "This is my home now and I want Miss Flora out. She is not welcome back. I will do all the cleaning from now on."
"Yes ma'am I'll inform her now."
Ariel went back to unpacking the box of pictures and placing them were she wanted. Matt came back and she showed him which boxes to take to her room.
