Introduction
A sleek silver car glided into the front yard of Old Madam Wright's home, its gentle hum drawing the attention of those inside the house. Ruby, bursting with excitement, was the first to dash out from the house and raced towards the vehicle, and stood a short distance away, assuming her parents had finally arrived.
But as Greg emerged from the passenger seat, a bright smile spreading across his face, Ruby's eyes lit up and she swiftly charged at him, launching herself into Greg's waiting arms. He scooped her up with ease and twirled her around in the air, earning a happy giggle from her.
"Get the door for me, will you?" Valarie's laughing voice drifted from the car, halting the duo's reunion.
Ruby looked over Greg's shoulder and her eyes widened in surprise, her lips parting to say something.
