10: Clan registration

The week had come to a close, and Mau now had a better understanding of his martial arts and weapons specialization. He wasn't a pro and still had a few slip-ups here and there, but for the most part, he was combat-ready.

None of this actually mattered when it came to registering with the clan, but it did matter if he wanted to take on any mission and catch up to Ivan, who had completed 20 missions and one mission ranked higher than him. He had a year of training and completing missions to go if he wanted to be anywhere near Ivan's level.

Honestly, Ivan would be in the foundation realm and a median disciple already, but if Mau trained hard enough and ate a few magical beast, he wouldn't be far behind him. He just had to figure out a way to do that without raising any suspicions.

It's currently the afternoon for Mau, and it was time for him to spar with his, now two main weapons, against Leonard. He Eagerly awaited to see how much he improved threw out the week. He could feel that he was close to the late stage of the mortal realm, and even though Ivan was now almost at the peak stage of the mortal realm, he still didn't feel too far from catching up with Ivan.

Once he was done going over some of his martial arts techniques, he got himself ready and made his way to the training room, he walked down the halls with his chin held high, and Jittered with excitement. he made it to the training room, he made his way to the sparring area which was 50ft wide which took up a quarter of the training room which in whole was 200ft wide.

As soon as Mau made contact with the sparring area, leonard immediately attacked him.

two green cresent shaped energy attacks came flying at him, he quickly unsheathed his rapeier sword and countered.

"Shadow slash"

A huge horizontal Crescent shaped black energy slash clashed into both of the green vertical energy slashes with a loud.

Ｂｏｏｍ !

As quick as the explosion began, Leonard was behind mau in seconds, and before he could get a hold on mau, he vanished. Only the fading remnants of is dark dao energy was left behind before

"Shadow beam"

A beam of dark energy was shot at Ivan from behind, leaving him to have to quickly turn to parry the attack, he was now face to face with mau, and he seemed to just had landed on the floor, indicating he shot that attack at him in the air.

Mau then ran at Leonard, sword in hand, as his figure blured and he started to move at and alarmingly fast speed.

"sky dance"

He clashed into Leonard's sword with in seconds with his Rapier and look leonrard in the face and opened his mouth to reveal a ball of black energy. Before he was pushed back several feet, with one nudge from Leonard's sword against his.

"Dark beam"

Ｓｈｅｓｓｈ! Ｂｏｏｍ!

As soon as Mau launched his attack, a 4-foot carnivorous plant sprouted from the ground in front of Leonard in what looked like an instant, and shot a dark green beam that collided with the black beam of energy Mau shot in his direction. This caused a big explosion that made the entire room rumble and shake aggressively. Leonard then vanished from the spot he was originally at, and zipped towards mau.

Mau pulled out his guns as soon as he sensed Leonard coming at him and shot multiple dark rays of energy at him. Leonard effortlessly dodged them before almost instantly crashing into Mau with his fist as soon as His guard was down.

"Shadow armor"

Before Leonard could get a hit on him, a dark barrier formed around his body and shaped around his form in a millisecond. Unfortunately Mau still was sent flying several feet only stopping when he crashed into the nearest wall, which was a little less than a hundred feet away from where he was originally standing.

"good job you actually lasted more then a minute, thats amazing for your level of cultivation"

Mau was currently too busy getting himself unstuck from the wall to reply right away, but once he was free and on his feet, he made his way back to the sparring area since he was thrown several feet away from the sparring area. once he was in ear shot he bowed his head and said.

"Thanks teacher Leonard "

"No problem, young one. I'm really proud of you. Good work! Now, go get ready. You'll be leaving for the clan to register, so that you can begin truly strengthening yourself in battle and raising your prowess as a cultivator. Ivan will be accompanying you. You won't have to fight or anything during the registration. Just sign some forms and receive an identification that proves you're a disciple of the clan."

"Yes teacher Leonard." said mau.

Mau then made his way to his room. As he was walking through the beautiful estate that was riddled with all types of plants, he ran into Ivan who was holding a toolbox and dragging a half-made household robot. But it looked different from what its other counterparts looked like. The parts of it that were intact were black and violet- the colors of the clan- and he seemed to be in a rush.

Ivan. Whats going on? are you ok. Said mau.

"no I'm fine. I'm just trying to get this to the lab before we have to leave, i dont want to leave Alban waiting to long."

"Lab?" asked mau in a confused tone.

"yeah teacher had one made for me a while ago, once he seen how invested i was in technology."

"Oh. why haven't you told me about this before?" Mau said with a sad face.

"No. Don't be offended. i just been busy with training. soon im going to challenge a median disciple to take there spot in the clan, and i dont want to slack of, i have to complete 10 more missions, first. The clan started letting people challenge deciples higher then them in rank instead of completing missions two ranks higher then ther cultivation level, and i want to take advantage of that once I'm done with all my missions."

"really, that means if i work hard enough in a year I'll be a median disciple as well." said mau enthusiasticly.

"definitely! your doing so well, you may actually be able to way sooner." said ivan

"Yeah for sure! but does this mean your going to be leaving to live in the clan soon. Teacher said when we become median disciples he's sending us to the clan to fend on or own, and make allies with in the clan."

"Yeah but don't worry I'll be here for at least another month. I'm working on my own combat type bots to aid me in fights, and i want to finish at least one prototype before I leave to the clan."

"Ok i guess that's fine. well good luck brot- i mean ivan." mau said this with a big adorable smile on his face.

Ivan got a little flushed before giving Mau a hug and leaving him to work on his prototype. Mau's cheeks were now bright red and he was feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. He then made his way to his room with a determined look. He wasn't going to lag behind Ivan. He wanted to be side by side with him in ranks, so he knew he needed to work hard. He noted to himself that once he got back from registration, he would train until he couldn't anymore

Once Mau made it to his room, he put on his clan uniform which consisted of black pants with purple lining, a black uniform shirt with purple lining, and a purple crest of a sword on his left chest area. After he put on his clothes, he made his way to the front of the estate to meet up with Ivan and go to the clan. They made their way towards the hover car parked in front of the estate. They greeted Alban before getting into the hover car and heading off to the clan. After 30 minutes of short conversations and Mau flicking around on the holographic screen projected from the table in front of him, they made it safely to the clan.

"Wow, the clan really is pretty. I wonder what are rooms will look like when we have to live here." said Mau.

"I don't know, I've never lived in a clan before. I hope it will be a nice experience, there's definitely going to be a lot of people challenging us to try and prove themselves, but I'm actually looking forward to it."

"Oh really. why?"

"Because where disciples of a lead that's a big thing, not a lot of leads even have disciples, they usually only become leads for the benefits, but our teacher is different unlike the other two leads in the clan. He actually grew up and was raised by the clan. His teacher was a senior, seniors aren't actually allowed to have disciples. Their job is to teach all the clan disciples, but teacher was his favorite and most talented student at the time." explained Ivan.

" Wow. So teacher Leonard has always been this strong. One day I'm going to be that strong too, and I'll be able to give teacher a real battle."

After their conversation, Ivan and Mau made it to the registration hall. There was a long line, but thanks to them being disciples of a lead, they didn't have to wait through it. Ivan walked up to a senior and handed them a note with a crest of a carnivores plant, and they were led to a room where Mau had to sign a couple forum before he was given a bracelet. He put it on and taped the bracelet and a holographic screen showing his stats and his ranking as a disciple.

Mau gasped when he saw this. He thought it was so cool that he could keep track of his cultivation and his body using this method. He was excited to learn more about it, so he decided to ask about the thing he wanted to know the most about: Qi level. Furthermore, he wondered if this had something to do with how he could progress through stages and realms.

"Ivan. Can you tell me about QI level, and how it affects my cultivation?"asked Mau

"Of course Mau, Qi is obviously necessary in order to break through. Your Qi level is how much QI you have and to break through you need to reach a certain level of QI to do so, but remember it's always best to go over the required amount because the amount of QI need to break through only gets higher with every realm."

After that, Mau thanked Ivan. Mau thought it would be nice to see Quin before they left, so they made their way to the nursing room to greet her. Quin was so happy to see Mau again and embraced him in a big hug as soon as he walked into the room, overwhelming him with her affection once more.

"Aww, baby brother Mau. Big sister missed you so much, I'm so happy to see you again. Said Quin"

"Mmumummummum" Mau muffled out this unrecognizable sound, while being smothered by quin.

"Um Quin could you please let Mau go, he can't breathe ." Said Ivan

Quin then let go of Mau and calmed herself down. She didn't want to smother him she just got a little excited when she saw Mau, so she couldn't help herself, but she knew better not to act in such a way, so she bowed her head and began to apologize to him

I'm sorry baby brother Mau, I got a little carried away. Apologized Quin.

Your fine big sister Quin, I didn't mind I'm real tuff. something like that wouldn't kill me.

So do you forgive me little brother? Quin asked with puppy dog eyes.

Of course i do. Answered Mau.

He then began telling Quin about how he was doing, how he accepted Leonard as his teacher, and about his training, including his sparring sessions with Leonard, and how close he and Ivan had become. Ivan blushed a little when Mau went into detail about their relationship before joining in the conversation and telling Quin about the prototype combat bot he was working on.

As they talked about their growing friendship over the week, Quin was surprised that someone as reserved as Ivan could become friends with anyone, let alone Mau. But Mau just had a natural charm that made people feel comfortable around him.

"Well, it was nice catching up with you, Quin. We were just stopping by, we don't want to keep Alban waiting. Said Ivan"

And with that she embraced them in a nice passionate hug. Like a loving mother embracing her children before sending them on their way. Once they were out of her nursing room, they made their way to the front of the clan and met Alban at the front door before leaving and making their way back to Leonard's estate.
