The UA Sports Festival Begins!

"Woah, Bakugou! Where did you get that manly dragon charm?" Kirishima marveled at the accessory on your boyfriend's phone.

"Tch. None of your damn business." Katsuki replied, putting his phone away.

You smiled as you heard the boys' conversation. It made you happy seeing Katsuki actually keep the souvenir from your first date. To be honest, you were afraid that he might easily forget about it or get rid of it.

"So, Ashido, Tsu, do you know who's gonna teach class today?" You asked Tsu and Ashido.

Your pink friend shrugged. "No idea."

Tsuyu places a finger on her chin with a thoughtful look. "Mr. Aizawa's still in the hospital recovering from his injuries, so I don't know either, Hikari."

Eraserhead was hurt pretty badly during the USJ incident. You're glad that he survived and will be focusing on his recovery.

Maybe dad or Miss Midnight will be teaching us as a substitute. You thought as you took your seat. Or maybe another Pro Hero that isn't in the school.

Suddenly, the door of the classroom opens. Instead of a different teacher, it was Mr. Aizawa with his face bandaged up and both of his arms in casts!

"Morning, class." He greets in his usual tone.

"Mr. Aizawa what are you doing here?" You and your classmates exclaimed at the same time.

The fact that Mr. Aizawa is here to teach despite his injuries proves that he's a real pro.

"Uh, Mr.Aizawa, we're glad that you're here, but are you sure you're able to teach while you're bandaged up like that?" You asked in concern for your homeroom teacher's health.

"My wellbeing is irrelevant." Mr.Aizawa walks up to the podium and faces the class. "What's more important is that your fight isn't over yet."

"Our fight?"

"Don't tell me..." Said Katsuki.

"Not more bad guys!" Izuku mumbles worriedly.

Yes. You and the rest of your classmates all silently came to the conclusion that you were going to face villians again. However, the news of the upcoming event was actually good.

"The UA Sports Festival is about to start." Your homeroom teacher announced.

Relief washes over the classroom for a moment until everyone erupted in excitement.

"Let's go kick some ass!" Kirishima shouted enthusiastically.

"Wait a second." Kaminari interrupted Kirishima.

"Is it really such a good idea to hold the Sports Festival so soon after the villians snuck inside?" Jiro asked.

"They could attack once we're all in the same place." Ojiro adds.

"Apparently, the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled and our school is safer than ever." Aizawa replies. "Plus, they're beefing up security compared to past years. This event is a huge opportunity for all students at UA. It's not something we can cancel because of a few villians."

"Uh, I'm sorry, but why not?" Mineta questions, who was the most worried. "It's just a sports festival!"

"Huh? Mineta, don't you know how important this competition is?" Izuku asks Mineta, who was sitting behind him.

"Of course I do! I just don't wanna get murdered."

"Our sports festival is one of the most watched events in the entire world." Your homeroom teacher continued. "In the past, everyone obsessed over the Olympic games. But then Quirks started appearing. Now, the Olympics have been drastically reduced in terms of scale and viewership. For anyone who cares about competition, there's only one tournament that matters. The UA Sports Festival."

"That's right." Yaoyorozu adds. "And top heroes everywhere will be watching. This is where you get scouted."

"Yeah, Mineta. This sports festival is a great opportunity for us." You agreed.

"Sure, unless you're dead." Mineta grumbled.

"They're right!" Kaminari spoke. "After graduating, a lot of people join pro agencies as a sidekick."

"Yeah, but that's as far as some people go." Jiro remarks. "They miss their chance to go indie and stay eternal sidekicks. Actually, that's probably where you're headed. You're kinda dumb."

You held in a laugh while Kaminari's eyebrow twitched at the insult.

"It's true that joining a famous hero agency can garner you greater experience and popularity." Mr.Aizawa spoke. "That's why the festival matters. If you wanna go pro one day, then this event could open the path for you. One chance a year. Three chances in a lifetime. No aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival. That means you better not slack off on your training.

"Yes, sir!" The class says.

"Class is dismissed."

You stood in line in the cafeteria for lunch. After being informed about the UA Sports Festival, you can't help but be excited along with your classmates. Uraraka looked even more pumped than the rest of you.

"I wonder what he wanted with Deku."

You turned around after hearing the familiar voice and saw that Iida and Uraraka were standing behind you.

"Uraraka? Class Rep?"

Your two classmates noticed you and smiled.

"Oh! Hi, Himawari!" Uraraka beamed. You were surprised that one of your classmates called you by your childhood nickname and your shock didn't go unnoticed. "I heard Deku call you 'Himawari' recently. That is your name, right?"

You were also surprised that someone else called Izuku "Deku", but you brushed it off for now.

"Well, actually, Himawari is a nickname that Izuku gave me when we were kids." You sheepishly rubbed the back of your neck in embarrassment. "I guess you could call it a pet name or a term of endearment..."

"Oh. Well, that clears things up." Iida says.

You pink cheeked friend stared at you, and despite the smile on her face, there was also a hint of jealously.

"Don't worry, Uraraka. My heart belongs to Katsuki Bakugou. Izuku and I are only friends. Like siblings." You winked at her. She tries to deny what you were thinking and you laughed in response. "So, what was that about Izuku?"

"All Might requested Midoriya to eat with him." Iida replied.

Your smile faded. You were at a lost for words. You haven't spoken to your father since the USJ incident. Why was he spending time with Izuku and not you?

"I-Izuku was one of the students who helped him when the villians attacked." You managed to say with a fake smile.

Iida nodded. "True. Also, remember what Asui said on the bus?"

You did remember what Tsu said, and that only fueled your jealousy. "She said that his Quirk was a lot like da-- All Might's."

"Yes. Since their Quirks are so similar to each other, it's possible that All Might's taken a liking to him. How lucky!"

"Yeah..."

You would've been happy for your nerdy friend if your father asked you to have lunch with him once in awhile. You also remembered Izuku's behavior during the USJ. It looked like he knew something about your dad that you didn't. Ever since you entered UA, it felt as if your father and childhood best friend... were keeping something from you.

When it was time to head home, you were faced with a herd of students in front of the classroom door. A few of them were from class 1-B, the other class in the hero course, while the rest of the students were from General Studies, Support Course, and the Business Course.

"Why the heck are you all here?" You and Uraraka gasped at the same time.

"Do you students have some sort of business with our class?" The class rep asked.

"Why are you blocking our doorway?" Mineta asked before putting on a tough guy act. "I won't let you hold us hostage!"

"They're scouting out the competition, idiots." Katsuki says as he walks pass your classmates to face the large group of students. "We're the class that survived a real villian attack."

Mineta looked at Izuku in shock by Katsuki's choice of words, but the only thing you and Izuku could do was hope that the ash-blonde doesn't explode anybody.

Katsuki places his arm over your shoulders and glares at the students. "At least now you know what a future pro looks like. Now move it, extras."

"You can't just call other people 'extras' just because you don't know them!" You scolded your boyfriend and Iida agreed.

"So this is Class 1-A." Another student with unruly indigo hair passes through the crowd of students to face you and Katsuki. "I heard you guys were impressive, but you just sound like an ass. Is everyone in the hero course delusional, or just you?" Katsuki growled and you and four of your classmates gestured him to stop, but he continued. "How sad to come here and find a bunch of ego maniacs. I wanted to be in the hero course, but like many others here, I was forced to choose a different track. Such is life."

"Tch."

"I didn't cut it the first time around, but I have another chance."

"What are you talking about?" You asked, not understanding what he meant.

"If any of us do well in the sports festival, the teachers can decide to transfer us to the hero course. And they'll have to transfer people out to make room."

You gasped along with Iida, Izuku, and Uraraka. He can't be serious. Can he? Was there going to be a chance that one of you will be kicked out of the hero course? This reminded you of the Quirk assessment test on the first day and you became nervous.

"Scouting the competition? Maybe some of my peers are, but I'm here to let you know that, if you don't bring your very best, I'll steal your spot right from under you. Consider this a declaration of war."

Where did this guy even come from? Did he hate class 1-A that much?

"Hey, you!" Called out a male student with messy gray hair and jagged eyebrows. "I'm from Class 1-B next door to you! We heard you fought some villians, and I came to see if that was true. But you're just a bunch of brats who think you're better than us!"

Crap. Turns out all of the students hates your class.

"Talk all ya want! It'll be more embarrassing when you're KO'd." You wanted to say something, but your boyfriend led you away. "Don't you ignore me!"

"Guys, where are you going?" Kirishima called out to you and Katsuki. "You gotta say something. It's your fault they're all hating on us, Bakugou."

Katsuki looked back at your red haired male friend. "These people don't matter."

"Huh?"

"The only thing that's important is that I beat them."

As you and Katsuki walked away, the gray haired student continued his rants. Yes, most of the students did not like your class, but you knew that Katsuki was right. You would rather focus on having better control over your Quirk than worry about the students that dislike your classmates for a number of reasons.

The UA Sports Festival was in two weeks, so you used that time to train and have better control of water. The whole thing'll be live on TV. There's no doubt that whoever impresses the audience will have a much better chance of becoming a pro hero one day. You won't know what the games will be until the first day. They could basically throw any sort of trial at you and your classmates. And so, you had to prepare for all possibilities. Soon, the days passed. All the training made time go by quickly. Before you knew it, it was the morning of the festival. Your mom wished you luck and told you that she'll be watching you on TV. You were glad to hear that and you promised to do your best in the sports festival.

"Aw, man. I was totally hoping I could wear my costume."Ashido whined as she looked at her UA training uniform.

You and your classmates were in the waiting room until it was time to head out. You all have changed into your training uniforms. In separate lockers, obviously.

"At least everyone will be in their uniforms." You added.

"Yeah. That keeps things fair, right?" Ojiro agreed.

"I wonder what they have in store for us in the first round." Sato says nervously.

"Well, no matter what it is, we shouldn't give up no matter what!" You encouraged.

Shoji and Tokoyami agreed with you.

Suddenly, Iida bursts into the room. "Everyone, get your game faces on! We're entering the arena soon!"

Despite the encouragement you gave your classmates, you were also nervous and had to mentally prepare yourself.

"Midoriya. Yagi." Your half-and-half classmate walks up to you and your childhood friend. His cold expression was unreadable.

"Hey, Todoroki." You greeted.

"What's up?" Izuku asks.

All of your classmates looked at the tension between the three of you.

"From an objective standpoint, I think it's fairly clear that I'm stronger than both of you." Todoroki bluntly declares, which upsets you. "However, you've got All Might in your corner, helping you out."

You and Izuku gasped. Only a handful of pro heroes know that your All Might's daughter, and Endeavor, Shoto Todoroki's father, is one of them.

"Your father is the No°1 hero, so you have him supporting you, right, Yagi?" Your classmates looked at you in astonishment, but for some reason, Izuku and Katsuki aren't as surprised. "Know that I will beat you."

To you, it sounded like Todoroki believed that you got in because of your dad. This pissed you off because you worked hard by yourself to get into UA and your father's influence had nothing to do with it. Heck, he didn't play any part in your training nor your acceptance. Also, why the hell is Todoroki dragging Izuku into this!? He only knew Izuku as one of his students, right?

"Woah, Yagi, I had no idea your dad is All Might!" Sero exclaimed.

"Yeah. I guess that explains why you're so awesome." Kaminari adds. "Plus, what's with all these declarations of war lately?"

"Yeah, what's the big deal?" Kirishima walks up to Todoroki and puts a hand on his shoulder. "Why are you pickin' a fight all of a sudden? And right before we get started..."

Todoroki shrugs Kirishima's hand away. "We're not here to be each other's friends. Don't forget. This isn't a team effort."

You watched as Todoroki walks away. He's as unfriendly and spiteful as his father.

"Wait a sec, Todoroki." Izuku spoke and Todoroki stopped. "I don't know what's going through your head or why you think you'd need to tell us that you'll beat us. And, yeah, of course you're better than me. In fact, you probably have way more potential than anyone in the hero course. That's why you got in so easily." You looked at Izuku and hung your head down. You can feel your blood boiling from the frustration you were feeling. "But... Himawari worked so hard to get here... she never asked for All Might's help!" Your eyes widened and you gazed at your friend. "All the other courses-- they're coming for us with everything they've got. We're all gonna have to fight to stand out."

Izuku was right. You can't afford to be nervous, not after Todoroki's accusation and declaration of war.

"Todoroki." You gave the cold and hot student a determined look. "I'm stronger than you think. And I'll be aiming for the top, too."

"Fine."

The first game of the festival was an obstacle course. Todoroki almost hurt somebody when he froze three of the robots in beginning of the obstacle course while they were off their balance. Luckily, Kirishima and another student were alive thanks to their similar Quirks. The student was the same one that was yelling at you and Katsuki and his name was Tetsutetsu. After that stunt, you became even more determined to beat Todoroki and get to the top. You and your classmates didn't hesitate. You all have felt the fear of facing villians, yet you fight on, trying to overcome that fear. You know that you have to act quickly if you want to stay alive. The final obstacle course was a field of land mines. You and Todoroki were the first two to make it to the final course. Katsuki soon caught up with the two of you. As you and Katsuki fought Todoroki while heading towards the finish line,  Izuku caught up to the three of you by using the land mines. After a struggling confrontation, Izuku Midoriya took first place, Shoto Todoroki took second place, you took third, and Katsuki Bakugou took fourth. You were happy that you made it to the next round, but it infuriated you that you lost to Todoroki.

The next game of the sports festival is the Cavalry battle. In this game, the participants will form teams of 2-4 people as they see fit. It's similar to a regular playground game, but the difference is that each player has been assigned a point value based the results from the obstacle course. It was a point-based system like the entrance exams. That means each team will have a different point value based on which students are on it. The point assignments go up by increments five, starting from the bottom.

And the point value assigned to the first place contestant is ten million! You looked at your childhood friend as if he was your prey. If you took down Midoriya's team, you'll make it to first place. You've watched over him when you were kids, but now, he's a stepping stone to your victory. You decided to form a team of four so that you can have a good defense.

"Hey, Shoji!" You called out to your octopus classmate. "Be a part of my team. With your body and tentacles, you could cover me, so no one will take my headband."

Shoji, in response to your idea, stretches out a tentacle towards you with a grinning mouth.

"Good idea. Let's go." He talks through it.

You were caught off guard when he responded through his tentacle like that, but you're glad that he agreed. You chose your second teammate to be Tsuyu. All you need is one more person and you'll have a team of four. The only problem is that all of your classmates were already in teams of their own. You were about to settle with the three people team you currently have when a girl with long straight brown hair and amber eyes shyly walks up to you.

"Um, I can be your fourth teammate..." She timidly spoke. "I-if you'll let me."

You didn't know her, but she did look familiar. She must be another student in Class 1-B.

"Who are you?" You asked
