Nervous and excited is what Brian was feeling now. He knows this day is all about Paia, but he was worried sick whether things will go well.
Since morning, all preparation was done by their friends. From Raju and his group to Lucy instructing Samon, all of their efforts will be shown as soon as Brian opens the door of their newly renovated house.
"Why are your hands so cold, father?"
"It's nothing…"
Letting his daughter push the door herself, dozen wolves were holding a party popper Brian have bought from the Item Shop. It took him minutes yesterday and the day before to teach these groups how to use it properly since it was their first time to see such a thing.
But all of it was worth it because as soon as Paia step into their unlit living room, colorful frilly strings of paper showered everyone who just entered.
"Happy Birthday, Paia!"
Brian, Raine, Raju, and all gave Paia the loudest birthday greeting ever had.
The initial shock factor of those poppers made Paia jump a little bit. However, when she realized what situation she was in, she gave the brightest smile Brian had ever seen yet.
"Waaa!!! Uncle Raju and Big Brothers and Big Sisters are all here!!!"
"It's your day today, Paia! So let's celebrate until you can't move any more!" Raju made the first move to start off the party. He already has a cup of juice in his hand before they even start the feast.
Raju gave the impression of a drunk uncle everyone has. And Brian knew this has some truth to it. Thankfully, he had not forgotten to remind him that it was his daughter's party. If there was alcohol on the table, Raju might have drunk two servings of it.
Although his presence was the best in creating a lively gathering.
"Before we start… Bring the birthday cake."
A white frosted cake with sprinkles and chocolate candies separated by the three layers of the cake became the spotlight on the table. It has three candles on top of it which is just waiting for someone to lit it up.
<Classic Vanilla Buttercream Sprinkled Frosted Cake>
<Description: The best-selling cake from one of the top bakery chain back in Earth. It sweetness accompanied by a fluffy frosting is perfect for celebrating a happy occasion. (Will stay freshly made until eaten)>
<Potential: S+>
This cake should be the most expensive cake or even dessert in the whole Soliel. Not exaggerating. Even the Appraisal itself thinks it would sell well at a normal market price.
"Is this a tradition you had back home?"
"Something like that."
It was the first time for the family of wolves to see candles being placed on top of food. Not to mention, they were really not sure what it food it is since this is the only food Brian has not asked them to cater.
"Paia, see those candles? They say they got magic in them."
"Hm? Is it father's magic"
"No. But if you blow these candles off, your wish will most likely happen this year."
Brian carried Paia to where she can blow them easily.
"Is that true Boss Bry?!" Richi who did not read the mood was genuinely asking whether this statement was true.
"…"
The three parents present gave him a deathly stare to keep him quiet. It was very effective while Paia stepped on a stool to help her reach the candles.
"I wish father will always be my side…"
The birthday girl puffed out all air stored on her adorable cheeks. She gave her best to beat the flames that were dying through her small breaths.
'I forgot to tell her to not say her wish out loud, but there should be no problem."
Paia successfully finished her wish which also indicates it was time to eat. Giving the first plate to his daughter, Brian served her with what she wants. A soup of noodles, a small chunk of meat of a roasted pig-like creature, and bread baked with bunch of spices. Paia excitedly pointed one food and another. Plus a big slice of the cake, curious what the delicious and colorful-looking food she had in front.
After Paia got everything she wanted, Brian gestured the rest to have their turn. The food placed on the wide table Brian just specifically bought for this occasion was able to accommodate everyone. It was more than enough to satisfy them until their third serving.
While they enjoy their time, someone knocks on the door.
"You invited someone else?"
"Lucy and Lulu are not here yet."
"Right, those two sisters. I wonder why they didn't go together with us." Raju replied while munching a whole roasted leg.
It is only Brian who knew the number of people outside is three. He asked Lucy to meet Samon at his blacksmith and come here later to give the surprise factor. Although anyone would be surprised as long as they see Samon.
Opening the door to let his new guest enter, Brian saw Lucy pushing the Lulu on her wheelchair. Behind them was a man a head taller compared to them.
And by Brian's instruction, he was wearing a colorful outfit that is similar to a clown back on Earth. It was not really a clown attire because it is just bizarre-looking clothes he purchased here in Soliel.
Raine was the first one to notice who came in. "Glad you were able to join us, Lulu… But who's this person behind you."
"I'm sorry for not introducing him first, but this is Samon. The clown for Paia's birthday party." Brian gladly presents the guest who was not acquainted with anyone here.
"A clown? What's that?"
"Ohhh~ It's like the king's banquet here." Before Brian can answer their question, Samon has already set his eyes on the feast.
Shameless as he may be, he was still a decent person. He just gazes at the food for 20 seconds or so before greeting Brian and the rest.
"Hello everyone. I'm Samon and a friend of Brian's. I came here to bring a smile to this celebration."
A placed his palms together and separated them a second later which a trail of rainbow appeared. A magician trick with real magic. This is the best description that Brian can formulate.
However, it does not end there. He found a slightly clear spot where he can perform without the worry of hitting anything. He made a promise to entertain Paia fully before he can even dare to eat anything.
His appearance became the main attraction quickly. Some guy with a weird hair and clothes who they did not know the name of suddenly appeared. Brian ensured them that Samon was his acquaintance and they should not worry about it and just watch what's going to happen next.
So for his next trick, now that everyone's attention was on him, he snaps his fingers. Paia was on Brian's shoulders to give her proper view. A view that was difficult to imagine inside a normal house.
With numerous halos made out of water floating adjacent to one another, Samon snaps once again and those halos solidify into beautiful snowflakes with exquisite patterns. Those snowflakes dance around everyone giving the vibe that they were in a snow world.
Amazement showed on the faces not only on the children, but also the adults. One must understand it was not easy to create something out of nowhere instantly. Unless it's a Rank 1 magic, normal mages will have difficulty casting one. And by the looks of it, these snowflakes are conjectured with at least a Rank 3 magic.
The show is just beginning. After visiting the snow world, Samon decides it is time to go to the sky. This time, he did not snap his fingers. Instead, he picked something up from his pockets which seems to be a golden bead.
He squeezes the bead with his fingers until it turns to dust. Then the view above or rather the ceiling has changed to appear like they were in the clouds. The surroundings except for the people themselves became the sky.
Richi and the rest who have did not have that strong of a mindset almost fell on their bottoms when the ground suddenly vanished. But for someone like Brian who can rationalize in milliseconds, he appreciated it more what Samon just did.
Paia is neither of these categories. She was simply staring at the illusion with wide eyes. Brian can tell she was excited base on the movements on his head.
Samon did not end there. Those snowflakes that have returned to his side evaporated. The mist produced gathered together to form a phoenix shape before Samon touch the five figures. Then with another snap, those five mist phoenixes burn and shone dazzling golden crimson flames for everyone to see.
Each phoenix was barely half a meter, but it was enough to show its glory as it flies around inside the illusion of sky.
Ten breathes before the next trick appear. This was the routine for almost an hour, and every one of them was as amazing as the previous one. Brian never believed he convinced someone with this capability to perform at his daughter's birthday party.
