A crowd was gathering in the Adventurer's Guild after a big quest given by the guild itself. To be more specific, a group was being surrounded by adventurers of different adventure ranks.
"How did you manage to beat an evolved Phasmid?"
"Humph~ I've improved so much with my sword art."
An elf snickered when she heard the bragging words of her teammate. Usually, she would be smacking his senses back, but she was going to let it go this time because Makoto really did exceptionally well.
"You're going to let him got this time?" A small slime girl who was accompanying her asked.
The elf chugged her drink first before answering, "Sometimes a drink is enough to ignore that stupid hero."
"Haha~ But you're the one who cares the most when it comes to Makoto."
"…"
While the two girls were having their time alone, Their other companions were being interviewed by almost everyone.
"I heard you broke your Dark Justice Sword after killing the first one. Is that also made by the Head Smith?" A growing teenager has sparkles in his eyes when he observed the long curved sword.
"Ah. My dear Makaze? A mysterious grand smith had crafted this for me after seeing my potential."
"There's a blacksmith far east in District 9. I believe you can have the same for 26 gold."
That teenager immediately took note of the location the giant had told him. Meanwhile, Makoto on the side has his mouth dropped like Atlas just gave out his deepest secret.
"Nova blacksmith should have been our advantage."
"Don't be selfish. It's unbecoming of someone who wants to be and can already be considered a hero."
"Tsk"
"Boss Bry is also conducting their business. We should help them a little."
Many of those present remembered the name of the blacksmith Makoto's group visited. They have noticed not only Makoto but Atlas was carrying a few new sets of armor pieces with an eye-catchhing hammer accompanying it.
Among the party and individuals inside the guild currently, they were the most important ones and most famous. Their words bring a lot of weight that even stupid things coming from Makoto are being attentively heard.
"The Royal Knights of Avian Monarch is coming here!!!" An ogre came running, pushing the doors of the guild while disturbing the rowdy atmosphere with his unpleasant shout.
The crowd's attention was taken by him all due to the news he brought.
"Why would they go here!"
"Isn't the Avian Monarch the hostile kingdom to our King last decade ago?"
"Yes. They might have signed a treaty with us, but bad blood is still strong with them."
No one, even Makoto and his group, knows why the strongest people of a previously hostile Kingdom were heading towards their Adventurer's Guild. Fighting inside the city will have heavy repercussions, but they cannot help but think those people have the ability to do so with little consequence.
Marching people with wings for their arms have created a path free from any obstacles. The supposedly busy road heading to Adventure's Guild was split in half with all the passersby moving to the corner making a way to these people carrying noble aura.
These Avian people know what they are about because they brought their chin up like they are the master of all these people. They only amount to ten people but they took all the citizens' breath away when they entered the guild.
"Who was the group that killed those Mantises?" The representative of the Avian group glanced around before stating his business.
"We are!" Makoto raised his hand emitting his own pressure.
"Where is the carcass of those you killed?"
"The guild has received it."
"…Useless." It was quiet remark but audible enough for Makoto to hear.
"You!"
"Stop… It's pointless to get aggressive."
Makoto almost pulled his Makaze out of its sheath when Atlas stopped him. The Avian representative ignore his reactions and went upstairs where the officials of the Guild should are situated.
This leaves a group of Avian facing off a group of adventurers of varying races and origins. Nothing was happening to the point a needle drop can be heard. However, the tension was suffocating those on the weaker side.
It took about ten minutes of this before the same figure came downstairs and broke the silence.
"Time to leave this scuffed place. I got what we need."
Nothing appears to have changed from the Avian representative. The birdman was clean of any activity. That means the talk above went well or what it should have been. The guild is not someone the likes of Avian Royal Knights can bully easily.
However, Makoto is also not the kind to be dismissed just like that. The same goes for two of his party mates- Only Atlas can be said to have a rational mind in all of these.
His group was calm enough to not pick up their weapons and charge blindly, but not to the point of letting them leave without a proper conversation with their swords.
"I heard Avian people are those who won't back down a challenge… So may the humble me ask Senior for a duel." Makoto's words have a tone of politeness to it. But the way he said it has a mocking tone that aims to aggravate so the other party would accept it.
No one in his group reprimanded him for doing so. Even the elf has been quiet when Makoto issued the challenge. All because they felt these Royal Knights were overstepping their boundaries.
"… You're talking to me…? What makes you think you deserve my time? We've come here under the orders of our Princess so wasting more time for useless people does not concern us." The Avian representative doesn't even look at them when leaving those words.
"Did the Avian Kingdom really fallen to their glory? Maybe your King only signed the treaty because losing is inev-"
*TING* Before Makoto can end his sentence, a blade made out of wind came to pierce his face. But he was able to react in time and deflect the almost invisible strike with his Makaze. The power behind that strike was no joke since the hands of Makoto were shaking a little bit.
The people who have seen that attack could only be counted with a pair of hands excluding the other members of the Royal Knights.
"… That's a good sword."
"Thanks, but I never expect Avian to be so coward to go for a sneak attack."
"That's my farewell gift. I'm going to entertain you when there's time."
The Avian representative along with his fellow Royal Knights spread their arms wide and begun flight. They have finished what they were task to do in the guild, and everything needed is inside the inventory ring of the one whose position is the highest.
Their exit was very unsatisfying for the people inside the Adventurer's Guild. They came and slapped their face while they were not able to do anything besides watch them leave the door and fly away.
Makoto's group has the privilege to go to the second floor of the guild so they went with the purpose of asking what those people that just left came for. An aging half-dragon along with his reptilian secretary was waiting silently like they were expecting their Mithril Party to come.
"Guild Master! Why were they looking for the Phasmid carcasses?" Feeling that they expected them, Makoto did not bite around the bush.
"Hoho~ They just bought it at a fair price so nothing really unusual there."
"But for their Royal Knights to come here…"
"They have a problem on their side, and it is not in our business to be worried about it."
"But…"
"Hohoho~ Youthful as usual Makoto. Getting provoke by few words… Don't worry, they came here with no bad intention and are serious about purchasing those Phasmids. With that being said, we are also thankful that you were able to end the invasion sooner than expected. We might have another Orichalcum Party soon."
The party's bitter mood instantly went one-eighty after hearing the latter part of his sentence. It was unusual to hear words of praise coming from the guild master himself. But due to the circumstances, Makoto and his group went ahead and looked for him.
People in the guild felt like today was an eventful day with the sudden visit of outsiders after what seems to be a celebration. The situation might be something you can call hectic. But at the end of the day, everyone got what they wanted.
But the one who got the most out of today was a certain blacksmith far away from here.
