The Legend of Newtra: Reborn of the Cursed

The Bible of Darkness stolen by the Folix—the ghosts of Darkness—made Han Zhong, the Dragon Son of Trixon, have to descend from Mount Severe. The reason is, in addition to the sacred book, the Folix apparently kidnapped babies from settlements at the foot of the mountain as well. According to a rumor spread by an fortune-teller, the baby was a descendant of the Dark Lord. Just as it was recorded in the Bible of Darkness. That in the next ten years there will be a Dark War led by a human. And for the Dragon descendant trying to balance the world, Han Zhong had to prevent it all. But actually, how did the Folix know that babies born in the most sacred settlements at the foot of Severe Mountain who were protected by the Dragon Castle guard descended Darkness? Is this just an excuse that the Folixes are actually keeping something very different from the Bible? copyright NiceMcQueen2022

Crystal Noden

In the meeting of the Flinch, Han Zhong accompanied Jing Lung to discuss the matter of the light shield that must be awakened with new energy. Grandpa Trixon couldn't help but know about this matter. The commotion in the human settlement made Poppet—the omniscient bird—tell Grandpa Trixon about it. Making Han Zhong scolded for not guarding the Bible of Darkness that was almost lost. But fortunately, Trixon grandfather's anger did not last long because he was again busy with important discussions between the Leaders in the Monarchy there. Leave the rest of the matter to Han Zhong and Jing Lung.

"Okay, so basically I have to strengthen the Light Shield. Damn it, where did the Folix get those weird crystals from?"

The large room located on the outer edge of the castle, close to the dividing wall became the place of discussion between the Flinch and Han Zhong. As leader of Flinch, Jing Lung had reviewed the place where they killed the Folix and found the crystal lying on the ground.

Even though the crystal that Jing Lung was picking up now didn't have any energy or orb, but when Han Zhong saw one of the Folix hurl it through the wall of the Light Shield, he was certain that the energy within this crystal was definitely stronger than Jing Lung's light.

"But I have mastered the nine points of light that Grandpa Trixon taught me since I'm six. Now, what else do I have to face to install this anti-crystal?" Jing Lung lamented realizing that this matter was too mature and he was just a seven-year-old boy who should still be licking lollipops if he was a human child.

Han Zhong lifted the marble-shaped crystal grain. Examining its pale white coating with Dragon Eyes. Wish he could read the energy between the lines. As usual. But sadly, the crystal was completely empty and hollow. It was as if the energy that shattered as it dissipated Jing Lung's light shield split it into the air.

"Is it possible that there really is a point level higher than nine?" asked one of the Flinch–Gu Do, a Flinch with an oval face and a baritone voice. He is older than Jing Lung, but his brain is not that smart. Even so, he was as fast as the wind.

"How is it possible–"

"There is," interrupted Han Zhong first, surprising the gaping Jing Lung.

"Are you serious?"

"Do I look like I'm joking?"

The corners of Jing Lung's eyes trembled with shock. "How could that be? Grandpa said the Flinches only needed to reach the ninth point of light to master the sky and air technique. Then now you're saying there's another point above nine?"

Han Zhong put down the crystal stone quietly. "Come on, Jing Lung. You're just a seven year-old-boy, the other two points of light you will learn after you turn sixteen." Basically, every Dragon descendant has a different Inner Celestial level point of light to be able to connect directly to the God of Light. Flinches are given eleven Inner Celestial levels to reach their full strength.

"Are you kidding? Then how can I put up a better Shield of Light energy if my Inner Celestial hasn't reached that point yet?"

Again Jing Lung was right. Han Zhong never thought that Jing Lung was indeed a seven year-old-boy while he was only eight years old himself. Because he often played with human children in the valley, he had forgotten that the task he assigned to dragon children was far different from normal human children. Han Zhong often told himself that he was actually not a normal kid. Normal designations are more suitable for human children. He and Jing Lung are descendants of dragons who carry a lot of work.

"There's actually another way." Han Zhong said.

"What?" Jing Lung asked suspiciously and full of anticipation.

"We destroy all these crystals."

Han Zhong's words sounded nonsensical. For Jing Lung, who really understands the knowledge and lessons that Han Zhong has learned, is indeed much higher than himself—who is only a guard against the wall—still does not deny why Han Zhong can be so naive.

And naturally, Han Zhong felt that way. He said that because it felt like nothing beats time other than waiting.

"Don't you realize what you're saying is a little ridiculous?" said Jing Lung resentfully.

"It's not ridiculous, it's rather unreasonable," Gu Do replied.

Han Zhong sighed. "I know it sounds impossible for us to find out about this crystal but—"

"If you've said that, you should know that it would be really hard for a kid in our age to do it, right? Why don't we just ask Grandpa for help?" said Jing Lung, throwing the weight.

"We can't. Grandpa is now busy taking care of matters in the Monarchy. There was a secret emergency he didn't tell me about. I dunno, I guess the Abyss problem too. But the point is, these crystals are definitely dangerous for human settlements. And in the meantime, even though we've killed Folix, and surely the Abysses don't know this, sooner or later, they'll be waiting for news.

"They need the baby too, remember?"

Han Zhong's explanation now made special empathy for Jing Lung. This problem does sound very serious. Especially for children in their age to deal with things that smell like antidotes like this. Because whoever created these crystals was definitely stronger than their energy.

And again, they're still kids.

"I was thinking, should we visit the Folix Hole and find out about this crystal? Who knew we could strike a stupid deal with those ugly demons?" Gu Do suggested but was immediately dismissed by Jing Lung who rolled his eyes.

"You said yourself it was a stupid deal, then you made it even more stupid."

"But there is a point," said Han Zhong. The most realistic-looking Jing Lung even growled in disbelief.

"Really, Han Zhong? If you go there, it's a sign that you allow yourself—your orb light—to be kidnapped and made into dinner for the Abyss. By the God of Light, could you guys come up with a better suggestion than to go to the Folix Hole?"

Folix Hole is a place where all the dark creatures live. The hole made into a deep ground of Newtra and has a far energy from the sky.

"You just scare, Jing Lung," Gu Do rebuked with a crooked smile.

"Please, don't be crazy. Come on, now talk about this seriously. If we go to Folix's, what's the plan? Someone can get in. But out? That's if we get information about the energy in the ugly crystal. If not? There are pros and cons that we have to think about. We're still a kid, we don't deserve to think about such a heavy plan. We need direction."

Han Zhong considered Jing Lung's words. After all, this rescue mission must to be more careful and Jing Lung was the most detailed and precise person when it came to that matter. Just like guarding a dividing wall, he always thinks about the risks and benefits. Compared to Han Zhong who only focused too much on his ambition of helping humanity, at times, his own safety was also important.

"Then who do we need?" asked Han Zhong.

Jing Lung's smile grew wide. He looked at his two friends excitedly. "Follow me."
